I got into Dir en Grey in high school, some time in 2003-2004. Watching them grow and evolve has been crazy. They're one of only two bands I feel have a perfect discography.
Oh. My. God. I'm gonna be honest, USUALLY when I listen to songs - the only thing I pay most attention to. and the only thing that can possibly attract me - is the vocalists voice, it has always been the most important thing to me - BUT after getting to know Dir En Grey things have changed to me, it's like I had my eyes closed this whole time. The guitar riffs in Diru songs ARE SO FKKING MAGICAL I swear they send me into another dimension! I can't get enough of this, their sound in this song (and some others) are the death of me - in a good way, and don't get me wrong - Kyo's voice is truly exceptional and unusual, and I love it a ton, but the love for a voice is not new to me, the love for the sound of a guitar though - it's something I didn't expect to feel.
Kyo is... from another planet or smth. Adding to hour comment, Shinya's drumm skills are otherworldly too! He is so good. All calculated movements. I love this band so much
Diru are definitely the first band that really made me pay attention to each musician beyond 'yeah they're really good'. The way they write songs is so unique and each member is just insanely talented.
Every song Dir Eng Grey creates just bores deeply into my soul. It's always heartfelt in some way or another that cuts to the bone so to speak and I especially love their live performances.
Amazing, just absolutely beautiful vocalist! The band is so on point! But you have to hand it to the vocals the guy can range from alto to tenor a few ppl can do it that naturally 🙏🏽
