- Its not often you come by a affordable zoom set that you struggle to find any real problems with. Well, this is that set! The S35 Rangers priced at $5799 for the standard kit is a fantastic value offering a whole range from 11mm all the way to 130mm all at a constant T2.9! In this review we will go over all our initial thoughts along with some real world application on a short film set.
The size combined with relatively low CA for what they are is absolutely insane.
From the specs, I see they are the same weight as my Sigma 18-35 and 24-105 still lens. That’s a win!
I can see myself swapping my stills lens for these zooms, especially since they have an EF option.
do you think these would work on a DSMC2 Helium 8k sensor? without vignetting
They won’t work with the Kippertie PL-RF mounts will they? Otherwise great! Another awesome video, thank you.
Is there any update on the lens mount being a bit loose? I saw another review that pointed out an issue with both the RF and PL mount. This lens looks like a great soltion for my work, so I'm very curious.
Id be interested to see how well the 17-50 and the 75-180 rangers would pair together on an s35 sensor. That would be quite a nice range to cover on s35.
Oh no at 2:50 I seen a dead pixel on the C70 😢
Interested in these for my C70 . Currently using the 18-35 & 50-100 mostly, so would be good to try out some cinema zooms
Worth trying the Aivascope on the 50-130?
Do you know if theres any Nd adapter ef/rf or pl/rf solution that would work with them or do the rear elements protrude too far? Great Video
how is the sharpness wide open, on the 17-50 and 50-130?
How are these compared to the Dzo Pictor for narrative work?
Personally I like these a little better but that’s just my taste.
Thanks for the reply that means a lot
Oh for sure!!
damn Northwest CamCo killing it. I wish San Francisco had a shop like yours.
Videofax is a great shop in SF!
