Illumi is just hilarious to me. His eyes are so prominent that they show up more in the series than him himself, and they essentially act as his Bat Signal

@@slevinchannel7589 They can change their aura to things they are familiar with. He is closely related to dragons. Remember the ant arc? He rode in on an actual live dragon. So he can change his aura to imitate their movements and ferocity amplified by his powerful nen mastery. We have seen about 3 of his dragon abilities so far and each one is extremely OP. Transmuters(like most nen users) are only limited by their imagination and their desire/will.

I was expecting Illumi to be the second most popular Zoldyck. Even when you look at the usual character popularity polls on the internet, the only Zoldyck who is more popular than Illumi is Killua.
Probably due to the type of people who watch NewWorldReview videos. There’s another video on UA-cam that tracks the popularity of characters from google searches and Illumi is 2nd in the Zoldyck’s and 9th overall right behind Chrollo.
@@TSignature That video doesn't necessarily represent popularity of characters, because it's unknown if it counts mispelled searches, searches without the last name(like "Killua", instead of "Killua Zoldyck") and all name variations of certain characters(like "Pitou" instead of "Neferpitou").

By silva's own words, before that point, they'd never had a father son talk. He was 12 years old at that point.

I have to agree. I also feel the same about Silva. And considering their lack of screen time, yep a bit strange. But that speaks to the power behind Togashi's character building.
@@PoweredByEnvy I think that despite being assassins they are some of the more likeable assh*les in the series. They may be horrible people who kill for money but thats just it. Its not personal pleasure or for fun like a lot of the more disturbed characters in the series.
often less screen time characters are shrouded in mystery and also whenver they have screen time they have powerful significance so these usualy are favourite characters in many series . example red hair shanks and dragon from one piece
Imo Zeno is the most professional assassin in the family, but that doesn't make him boring. It seemed like he was having fun w his fight w Chrollo and overall he seems like a chill dude.

I think Zeno is interesting because he is a fully professional assassin, yet retains a moral code about him. He kills hundreds of people, but only when the job calls for it. He never kills unprofessionally because he respects life, which is an interesting dynamic for one of the worlds top assassins.
I mean that’s how Silva is too. As stated after the Chrollo fight they don’t kill for pleasure only for jobs and except for that one time with komugi they have never killed a innocent bystander that was not in the hit list

The Feitan Zoldyck theory makes a lot of sense. When he and the gigantic fingergun dude killed a crowd at the auction, one last person remained. Feitan killed him the same second when he said "family", meaning that he may have had trauma like Killua.

@@Archonsx he's literally right though. If nothing else because he's one of two main protagonists (through the election arc at least) and by far the more complex/tragic of the two. No character has had more labor put into them by the author.
"best written" is subjective for my liking but you can't really offer up any valid alternative for the most heavily invested character.

Kikyo is actually my second favorite Zoldykk family member and is probably in my top 5 favorite characters in the show. There is just something so ridiculously eiree but yet so compeling about how she is acting like an overly loving and protective mother always on the verge of tears when she talks about how Killua hurt her just to reveal that those are tears of joy. She feels so bizarre, yet familiar in a way to me. My favorite Zoldykk is Alluka though, so I would sadly not vote for her to pump her number up a step. :P
I love how the Zoldykks sort of represent a lot of abusive families. I even have a friend who grew up in a mostly non-abusive family and our personalities match up to Killua (me) and Gon (him), which was hitting me so strongly while watching for the first time. And he even lit up my life like Gon did for Killua, he's closer to me than any of my family members because we both reciprocally helped each others' lives immensely and helped each other grow in different ways. And he started to fall into darkness later on while I explored the light. Gon and Killua's friendship, and their backgrounds have a lot of personal meaning to me because of all this.

What about a ranking of Nen abilities? Choose 10-20 of the most popular abilities in the series (Godspeed, Jajanken, Kurapika’s chains, Bungee Gum etc) and hold a vote on those. I would love to see how some of those compare to each other in popularity, because I feel like the highest ranking ones would be really close.

Milluki being the antagonist in the Greed Island Arc would have been amazing. Just thinking about him trying to "break" the game and not truly play it properly would have been awesome. Gon would obviously have taken issue with that and Killua would have had a personal stake in the arc too.
I'd have to disagree, Greed Island arc was mostly centered around Gon (Though it was actually both about gon and killua's progression, it was mostly focused towards gon as he could have potentially found information or possibly even finding ging himself) so having milluki being a major-ish antagonist would undermine the story.
The fact that Maha’s smug face won over Milluki is hilarious.
Kikyo's not boring, her reactions to Killua acting cold are hilarious, but like Milluki, she doesn't get enough screentime for us to see more than her meme.

Zigg Zoldyck could be what Killua is to Gon since he traveled with Issac Netero to the dark continent.
I find the whole family very interesting, Killua, Zenu and Silva are my favorites, but i have a soft spot for Kalluto as she/he is an underdog, Kalluto has to deal with the pressure of standing out in the Zoldyk Family and in the Phantom Troupe that is a lot of stress to endure for someone so young.

I think there’s a couple things pointing away from Maha being on Netero’s level. The first just being that since Netero’s only goal in life was to find a single strong opponent he can’t have always had one waiting whom he just ignored for no reason. The second being that Maha is still working as an assassin (helping Illumi with the Ten Dons assassination) but Netero didn’t hire him along with Zeno to help with the ant problem.
A character design ranking would be quite interesting and you could take into account both humans and chimera ants

I say the rest of anime because the vast majority of shows either don't have trans people or have a trap, which is problematic because it drives the argument that genitalia causes gender (which is horrible for portraying trans people) and it's always played for laughs.

@@narutospersona426 there is no strong character in the world of nem. we already learned that with nov and morel, while talking to killua. there is only the most creative and versatile. but even that one could lose against a better match. example: meruen could get easily killed by nov + camaleon dude. Nov could cut his head off without showing his position. but he could not fight after seeing pitou´s aura.
Another example: Netero defeated the strongest nem user of all time using a bomb full of biohazard poison...
