      Thanks so much for your kind words!! We have visited Ziva Cancun just for dinner a couple times while we were staying down the road at Zilara Cancun, a few years ago. We have always said we wanted to try out the Ziva Cancun! It seems very large in a good way (lots of restaurants and shops, very spread out) - and lots of nice pool areas. However, one thing that seemed like a drawback to Ziva Cancun is there wasn’t as much of the typical beach area as some of the other resorts - it’s built on more of a rocky peninsula type area with a beach on the back side where the kids area is. Not as much wide open sandy area, if that makes sense! That’s one thing my whole family LOVES about the Cap Cana resorts - so much beach and so many palm trees! Just feels like a postcard to us :) but I don’t think it would be possible to have a bad experience at Ziva Cancun, just depends on what you’re looking for!! Enjoy!!

      @@CandidConkles thank you so much for replying. We’ve actually been to Ziva Cancun four times with our kids (16 & 11) and we love it but we’d like to try somewhere new like Cap Cana. Since you’ve been to the restaurants at both how do they compare? What kind of restaurants do they have at Cap Cana? We tend to go to the public beach side at the Ziva in Cancun. It’s much bigger and not rocky at all. Thank you again for replying!

      @@bradenangie I'm so sorry I misread your question, ha! That is awesome that you love the Ziva Cancun!! I would *highly* recommend trying out Cap Cana! We have only been to the French restaurant and the steakhouse at Ziva Cancun and had really good experiences, but I'm not sure what other casual fare they have at the Ziva Cancun so a little hard to compare (you would know better than me!), but at Cap Cana the Ziva side has a good poolside restaurant with excellent burgers & pizza for lunch which seems very kid-friendly (we've often got those items "to go" for lunch and eaten in our cabana!) though the adults usually prefer going to Chinola for lunch, which is a more "healthy" restaurant beachside that has a more unique (I would say a bit more adult-friendly) menu. Navigator is the restaurant in the main pool area that is a really good please-all for both lunch and dinner, in my opinion! It's technically a "Caribbean" restaurant but good variety for everyone menu-wise, steak at dinnertime, etc... They also have a buffet (El Mercado) with plenty of options, though we don't eat there much - we just love the atmosphere of Chinola better for both breakfast and/or lunch! (I believe you have to book club-level to eat at Chinola for breakfast, just a note, otherwise, El Mercado has lots of breakfast options). For dinner, Tempest is really yummy for Asian food with a Hibachi option which is always fun for kids! Noodle & Thread is the excellent Italian restaurant that we all love as well (with lots of kid-friendly options). So definitely plenty of options and fun to try it all! Hope this helps!! :)

      Aww thank you haha! That’s so exciting about your upcoming trip!! I would recommend coordinating transportation through the hotel (we just emailed them and they were happy to assist!).. they do have vans etc that can carry multiple parties which was a cheaper option, or you can usually do a private SUV if you want; we got our own 12-passenger van to carry our whole party and it worked out great! We like coordinating the transportation through the hotel because it seems like the safest and most reliable option! Have so much fun!!

      You know, I didn’t even look to see if they had them - I just brought our own because I figured trying to buy them once we got there would be a risk trying to find right size etc! Would rather be safe than sorry! :) also side note - it was so nice to have a portable fold up chair for our 1 year old to sit in!! They have high chairs at restaurants of course, but he was able to use his own chair to eat snacks etc whenever we were hanging in the lobby, at the coffee shop, at the pool cabana, etc! Just wanted to throw that out there :) it saved my life for keeping him contained at times!

    • @callanelizabethconkle
      @callanelizabethconkle 6 місяців тому

      Hey there!! I’d definitely recommend arranging transportation through the resort - to us it feels the safest and most reliable 🙌🏼 and they do have different options for either a group/shared van or private car/SUV! My sister and I both had our own Doona car seat/stroller combos for our littlest ones on that trip but I bet they can arrange to have car seats, given it’s a family resort! Definitely just ask the hotel when arranging to be sure ☺️ have so much fun on your trip!!

    Do they have any pool toys/dive sticks etc for kids to play with in the pool? We have 4 (will be 8, 6, 4 and 2 when travelling), thinking of next July!

    • @CandidConkles
      @CandidConkles  Рік тому

      Oh that will be so fun!! I did not ever hear of or see anything like that - we brought some of our own toys for my 5 year old niece including a couple beach balls we inflated when we got there! I know it would be extra things to pack lol! I do know there were some big rafts/floaties that someone had brought and inflated, and didn’t want to bother taking back home, so they just passed them onto another family when they left, and they kinda became community floaties lol! So you may get lucky if someone else brings some toys to share - but I know it’s never a given! That would be fun for them to have toys on hand like that to check out! (Although maybe they think it would be too much to keep up with… who knows!)… have an absolute blast on your trip!!! The kids (and you!) will love it! ☺️

    It looks really empty, are there any fun parties or anything? Do people stick by themselves or are they usually down to socialize? Also what kind of excursions are available through the resort?

    • @CandidConkles
      @CandidConkles  Рік тому +2

      Oh for sure!! We filmed a lot of this earlier in the morning when it wasn’t as busy but it definitely got more busy around midday through afternoon every day! We always meet TONS of new people just from the pool or sitting at the coffee lounge, etc… no shortage of socializing if you’re into that lol! Also they have a TON of activities every day - it’s like a cruise!! We didn’t do much because we were just trying to relax haha. But on top of activities throughout the day (including activities for the kids), games, sports, crafts for kids, make-your-own-mojito for adults, that kinda thing, they also have live music at times, and the Zilara adults side has parties in the afternoons sometimes, I know that for sure! Also, every night there is a show for kids and a show for adults. Multiple nights they had life size Transformers, super heroes, Disney characters etc. on the front lawn and my 5 year old niece had a blast. Then they have other acrobat and concert type shows every night that are great for all ages (one was Michael Jackson themed while we were there!). They have a ton of partnerships with local tour companies so there is no shortage of excursions to choose from! We haven’t done any on our recent trips (we just love staying at the resort) but they have arranged golf & transportation for Kyle before, and we see people in the lobby every morning waiting for their excursions to leave! It is FULL of activities! :)

      That’s a great question!
