Contextual studies are so important. I often hear the related passage about "I wish that you were hot or cold..." used, albeit with good intentions, in the application of passion toward God. We know we should love God with all our heart, soul, and resources and love our neighbors as ourselves, but passion doesn't best suit and therefore isn't most logical setting for the very relevant examples that the Laodiceans could easily have made connection towards in their day. Hot was good for healing, aches and soreness and such, and cold was good for consuming, sustaining, but the lukewarm was mixed, polluted. (Water, if you are willing, God's power and sustenance, mixed with earth = world system that God condemns) It wasn't about passion, but purity, and the Laodiceans were affluent, and proclaiming acceptable worship of God (to be acknowledged) among all the other pantheon of gods they had (sound like any resemblance of something these days?). There's a longer version of this where Dave mentions more about that to reference. Thanks for bringing us knowledge so we can get better insight into His word!
Enjoyed this vedio so much. To understand the reason for what Jesus Christ said to this Church makes it all more real and alot of us today needed to hear this. I sure did.
Very cool Dave, glad you got that one, many people don't. But the Lord always says what He means and means what He says. Some think John made this up. They're wrong! Of course! Thank you Dave for another awesome postcard! Thank you so much for doing this and Cold Water too. You guys are great. Maranatha in Jesus Name brother Dave. 😊🙌☝️💖✝️
What are the chances that each of these churches had writing dens, and what Jesus wrote in the letters, when he was younger, had something to do with the quality of reprint. 'Great sea creatures' becoming 'whales', 'virtuous bride' becoming 'virgin bride' sort of thing. After all the last topic of conversation in the book is about copyright.
I love watching History but it is more interesting to watch something actual and adventure as well.. I can't memorize history but I am happy to discover this channel.. God blesd this channel.. Thanks for all..
im enjoying this channel alot , im learning alot !!! thank you please keep uploading more about our beautiful Lord 😭🙏its like reading the Bible with pictures and videos ❤
Nice video..but the letter is FOR the ANGELS of the CHURCHES. warning to the angels of the churches and not for the people. each church has angel that guarding them.
It was addressed "to the angel of..." to ensure it was delivered and got to the church. It's part of the imperative chain of custody for the whole book writing (Rev 1:1).

The angels won't be facing judgment. The letter was to the churches and each reflect our present day churches
