@ buddy, if he is an illegal immigrant, chances are he didn’t come in legally. That’s literally what makes them illegal. If he came with a visa and overstayed it, it still takes 8 years to POSSIBLY become a citizen. And in the mean time you can be deported at any moment. Breaking families apart is not just a legal issue. It is a matter of morality and compassion. Allowing children to grow up without their parents and tearing families apart will inevitably backfire. The United States' reputation is at stake.
@@genki2705 It's also morally correct not to break the law and to teach your children that breaking the law is ok. I am not sure that legally 17 years in the country has anything to do with this case! It only proves that officials in the past did not do their job! A legal pathway is provided for in the immigration process. If you chose to come here illegally and short circuit the process and get deported that deportation is a consequence of your actions. I don't remember who said this but 200+ years ago an important man in history said something equivalent to this, "If you use emotion in your enforcement of the law rather than following the law you will have chaos in the streets!" If you have any doubt about the validity of this statement look at what has been going on at our Southern border in recent years! Illegal immigration has to be dealt with and there are going to be some sad cases. However we have a lot of sad cases on the other side and not dealing with this problem has even worse consequences. Look at the drugs pouring over the border, the Laken Riley murder and so many other things prove the need to deport immediately all illegal aliens. If immediate deportation is followed nobody will have family here to be upset and feel they were wronged somehow. Have judges at the border and hear the cases within hours or at least within a few days. It would be more humane for all to have quick adjudication of any immigration claims!
