Thanks for saving a fleet car. A few pursuit car details I've seen on Mopars are: One key fits everything (not the normal two Chrysler key combo), certified speedometer, unit number always painted in lowei driver door jamb for quick verification of correct fleet car, overhead dome reading light near rear view mirror, wire harness inside car running from front seat to trunk is in armored cable to prevent damage by person being transported, front stabilizer bar, reinforced roof, extra body welds, heavy duty alt. AC shut off switch for pursuit, fist idle pull knob on dash for traffic stops. These all seem to be the norm on my hwy pursuit c-bodies. Research yours and enjoy!

Serious collection of C bodies. Many of these gave their engines up as replacements for Hot Rods. I used to buy 383's and 440's for mega cheap back in the late 70's as missing shifts in my Road Runner would zing the third rod bearing toot sweet! This is a cool collection for this Mopar fan. Thanks for taking us along.

As a young Deputy I was delighted when our new fleet came in with Plymouths with 383's having 440 intakes. When you called for back-up you could hear this intakes lighting up for miles around.

Thanks, Mr. Badsocket! Your auction videos are the best! I watch every one of them. I know its a hell of a lot of work to produce these things but please, keep at it! Nobody else is covering farm auctions like you do! I do have a request, though [you knew there was a catch, didn't you?]. Tell us where you sell the cars you buy at auction! I have sent you e-mails asking about cars you said you were buying to re-sell, but you never responded. If you have a web site, tell us what it's called. If you have a farm field full of old cars with For Sale signs on them, tell us where to find it! You'll reach 43K potential new customers by doing so. What have you got to loose?

So at 12:37, the Red Chrysler, something you didn't pick up on....and why that can needs to be saved......It's a special order car, that color wasn't a Chrysler Color, it was offered on the Imperial, but not on a Newport or New Yorker. Note the bumper filler panels are Silver/Argent colored, not body colored. That also indicates a non factory color, you'd see that on police car paint combinations. Had you checked out the fender tag in the engine bay, I'm 100% certain it would have said, "special order"

The '68 black New Yorker looks like it has an Imperial steering column. The Mopar police cars usually had white steering wheels. My father had a 1968 Ford Country Sedan police spec.(no a/c and had a 390 V8). He was a Fire Dept. Battalion Chief. It was the year that our local FD tried white vehicles, for better visibility. The 2nd new car my parents bought was a 1968 Plymouth Fury III 4dr. hardtop. It had the Commando 383 V8 and a split bench front seat.

I still have a black two-door 67 Fury 3 bench seat Factory 4 speed 383 4 Barrel car that my aunt bought brand new and still has the card with her name on it.I think it has the sport roof with red interior she gave it to me when I was in high school and I can remember loading up on my friends and driving 2 hours to concerts Kiss, Black Sabbath, Uriah Heep and Bob Seger. it would only run on Ethel and I put some regular gas in it and it was knocking and banging and ended up breaking the camshaft. I have only seen two or three four speeds like the one in the auction but I have never seen another bench seat 4 Speed. I almost sold the four-speed transmission for $500 a few years ago to somebody wanting to put it in a road runner, glad I didn't. I hope to restore someday but I just like looking at it. I have did a lot of research but can't find out how many were built that way, best I could come up with was .02% were standard shift???

If you look closely at the gearshift from the 68 Fury convertible, it looks like it came out of a Mitsubishi Eclipse or similar Mitsubishi product. That's different. I dont even think Chrysler and Mitsubishi were teaming up then. That didn't occur until the early 70s, I believe. I also noticed that front grille of the New Yorker looks similar to those on the mid 70s Chrysler Fury and Satellite lines, maybe even Volare. Coinicidental?? I'm guessing Chrysler went through the parts bin for the latter models??

I've been searching for a 68 Coronet 500. Frustrating that there aren't actions like this in my area that I hear about. I don't have the means to pay a flipper markup and restore the car too.

37K is a very respectable bid. Props to the old school auction buyers.

My mouth dropped at what the 58 Plymouth sold for when the hammer dropped.
