Thanks for providing real world useful information. A welcome relief from the myopic concepts provided by the "tech" crowd filming from their mothers basment.
Quick question, is the antenna you're using the "16dBi 2.4GHz - 5.8ghz WIFI Yagi Directional Antenna" I looked it up on yt, couldn't find much information on it
@4:28 no one is saying you can't detect mesh. What they are probably saying, is it is such a low output power that it is more difficult to detect. Surely an individual with signals training and a handful of equipment can detect a signal.
Bugs? WOW! I didnt even think that was a thing anymore. With all the listening devices in our pockets and all over our houses i had seriously doubted there was a market for bugs anymore. But as far as drones go most DJI drones have the option of which band to use. Most others dont as far as i know but the video downlink should be a WIDE signal. So if you see a WIDE signal on 2.4ghz its most likely a DJI correct? Ive not testing this but i do know i can run a single band 2.4ghz antenna on my DJI drone.
Hopefully nobody is thinking about Meshtastic that way. Its an outward facing, low barrier to entry , low power consumption tool, that has limited LPI/LPD properties due to the narrow frequency ranges. Most of that relies on being in an area that is flooded with traffic in that range. That said .. Terrain masking, directional antennas, receive only nodes, along with target overload can do a lot. OpenWRT meshes might be another similar approach to look at.
It is NOT LPI, its high probability of intercept, especially from the air. Maybe try to exploit your own vulnerabilities before commenting. Because I have.

You bet!
Thanks, Matt.

Its one we built for class. Look up wifi disk yagi. There's a great video on it, forgot the channel name.

Plenty of people have. They're idiots.
Whoa whoa whoa, I didn’t see any link to your cool directional antenna fine sir!!!!!!
that's a homebrew one. there's a great video on here about building them - forgot what the channel name is but look up wifi disk yagi.
Happy Thanksgiving, paratrooper
All The Way!!! And a Happy Thanksgiving to you Airborne!!

How you like that new baofang? I saw that they have a special on them today ( for Black Friday) at r&l. I of course have the uv5r but not that one.
Its not new. I sell them on my store.
@brushbeater I see, thank you for response
Siiick. Thanks for the info.

And its all easily exploited.

@@brushbeater😂 rough morning?
Here we go again with the mesh martyrs.
@@brushbeater I use it to track my dog. Please don't exploit my dog.
Alright brother, where’s the mini-Yagi?
its a home brew. there's a few videos on building them on here.
