Dear Brothers and Sisters, SAI RAM!
On the occasion of the 116th Samarpan at Brindavan, we are fortunate to have Dr. Samuel Sandweiss addressing us. Dr. Sandweiss first met our beloved Bhagavan in the month of May in the year 1972. During the time, Dr. Sandweiss was in Mumbai at the apartment of a devotee, preparing to go to a large stadium to see Swami for the first time. In the event of an extraordinary coincidence, Swami came to the very apartment building where Dr. Sandweiss was present.
Dr. Sandweiss completed his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Michigan and pursued M.D. degree from University of Michigan. Dr. Sandweiss was part of the psychiatry residency program in Sinai hospital, Detroit Michigan. He is also board-certified in psychiatry.
Dr. Sandweiss has numerous personally cherished experiences of his association with Swami spanning across over 40 years and about many personal interviews. Swami has personally helped with the books Dr. Sandweiss has authored. In the year 2009, Dr. Sandweiss has also been the chief guest at the Convocation ceremony of Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Learning. Swami has personally directed Dr. Sandweiss to consult on an international film about Him. Swami has also guided Dr. Sandweiss to start and operate a Birth Day Publishing Company and manage Internet platforms that provide videos about Swami. Our beloved Bhagavan has also blessed the marriages of Dr. Sandweiss daughters and taught several lessons about the mind and detachment to him.
On one of the occasions when Dr. Sandweiss was in the process of bringing Russian psychiatrist to Swami, our beloved Bhagavan said “I know everything!” which had an extraordinary meaning in it for Dr. Sandweiss.
