Can I ask what normal map/normality is used for? Also at 1:23 how did you manage to get the shadow on the ground after using greenscreen? For me it always disappears and if there's grass the car looks like it's floating
a normal map is used to fake the lighting, in reshade you can switch from depth to normal map in the shader settings. Normality is a plugin that lets you actually use the normal map inside of after effects. ua-cam.com/video/ALkA4j4zK_U/v-deo.html here is a good explanation of how this works. now for the shadow its actually not just greenscreen but i didnt want to over complicate the breakdown, what i did was i first record the POV with the car hidden, then the greenscreen with car only. that way you still have the shadows but not 2 cars on top of each other (hide cars by using the item mod / replaymanipulator)

i started the project in April, so was basically doing it since then with some occasional breaks for other projects
how are you 3d tracking all of this when what you are working with is only a 2d video and not a 3d environment?!?!?!?!?!? i understand everything else tho I'm just stuck on how you making them look like they are in the game.
