Thank you! Watching from HK, can't understand German but running is such universal language, has been searching this event in the last few hours, i found it. Danke!
Fucking amazing. All the talent and hard work led to this phenomenal race. Absolutely insane how fast kimmeto ran
Superior for running marathons? Hopped on modern drugs? Nobody give a shit about running marathons in the real world bud.
The Kenyans dominated this race. Never known a country that can place 7 out of ten in the top 10, amazing!
sub 2:03; that's awesome. that's a respectable time for an average person's HALF marathon!
hahahaha de verdad que si , esos tipos son simplemente sobrehumanos jajaja
That's and absolutely incredible time for a half marathon! Even running 5 Km or even 3 Km is extremely good!
I heard from somewhere that a sub-3 hour marathon puts you in the top 2-3 percentile. Makes you realise how elite these guys are at almost an hour faster than that.
Thats like a 4:45 mile pace....for 26 miles god damn most people cant even run 1 mile that fast.
If you're talking about just random young people from the street rather than people who run at least casually, most of them couldn't even keep up over that last 400m or so stretch from the Brandenburg Gate to the finish line. o-D
That is insane!!! 4:45 was my best mile in high school, and I felt fast.
these elite runners are amazing. I get my motivation to run from them. Whenever I feel lazy I put this video on and get my ass in gear.
+Billy Cundiff Hahaha. I do the same thing. No time to feel sorry for myself. No excuses!
2:02:57 per marathon is little faster rate than 2:55 min per km. Most people can't run 1 km in under 3 min, even in under 3:30, which is world class result for 1500 m on track .
I run a kilometer in 4 minutes and after about 7 kms I'm breathing like a winded rhinoceros... What the fuck are these people made off? 😶
2021, coming back to watch Kimetto race . Such beautiful and elegant running action. A stoic expression, almost metronomic movements. Best of all, no carbon enhancements with the shoes. A pure performance.
It's good to think of Kimetto running when I'm in a race. The best man.
Unless you run a marathon or at least a half marathon, you'd be even more amazed by this record. Sign up for a half marathon, run just the 13.1 miles, and then compare your time to this world record holder. It's utterly mind-blowing.
Jimsta N bruh i cant even run 3 miles under 25 mins this shit is incredible to me
Jimsta N eh im 14 and run 2 miles in 12 minutes.im still not sure if thats good or not
Thanks sooooo much for posting this!
Danke schön für das Video !!
Hey Ole! Thank you so much for sharing this. Awesome quality! Vielen Dank!
Absolutedly amazing! Bravo Dennis Kimetto!
Deutsche Übertragung! Super ^^
Let the man celebrate jeez
Greg Sanchez "Turn around and do like this" ... WHAT THE FUCK. I wanted to punch that guy...
2:13:01 - am i the only one furious at that BMW guy telling kimetto how to celebrate with the BMW flag!!?
the man has just achieved a superhuman feat and that's how you treat him? i get you are the sponsors and have spent millions, but there is a place and time... FFS!
No, you're not. I couldn't believe him.... "Now do this.... Now turn and do that." Tell you what, buddy... YOU break a world record, then you can tell me to do all the somersaults you want.
this guy is from another planet
READING YOUR COMMENT FROM KENYA.......KEEP UP COMMENTING ON ORIGINAL MEN/WOMEN I GUESS WE KEEP YOU WONDERING AND ANGRY AT THE SAME TIME
the running style from kimetto is so amazing, i watch parts if this video so often :)
Forget Usain Bolt. This guy is the beast of running!
+Jonathan Morales pantoja uhh no dont forget Usain, he's kinda the fastest man in the history of the world
+BPrushGaming He may be the fastest for only 10-30 seconds. But Kimetto can maintain his speed during 26.2 miles while running at 4:41 per mile pace. That's insane! Getting just one sub 5 mile is hard, let alone 26 in a row!
Jonathan Morales pantoja
He may be the fastest for 2 hours. But Bolt can sprint at speeds that have never been reached before on foot. 10.44 meters per second. That's insane! Getting just one second to travel 10 meters is hard, let alone 100 meters.
Lol, is this turning into a sprinter vs distance runner discussion? I say w/e really, for me, those who can go the distance and endure are tougher than those who are at their fastest for only 30 seconds. I know that sounds ironic cause marathoners are a bag of bones and sprinters have muscle, but i think long distance runners need more mental strength.

thanx for the upload dude!
Thanks for sharing!
Kipchoge: Hold my beer
kenya the greatest running nation on earth.proud to be kenyan
*****
Yeah, those records are great but Daniel Komen's (Kenya) 2 mile and 3000m records are also impressive, as are El Guerrouj's (Morocco) mile and 1500m records.
Kenya by far better greater than Ethiopia in terms of number of runners (Kenya has plenty of professional runners) and different disciplines. Kenya's presence is felt and recognised as from 800m to Marathon. Ethiopia i can only talk of two disciplines and that's 5'000m and 10'000m. Kenya is the greatest running Nation.
Gibbs Jakatiga
O really? How about the current 800m world champion both indoors and outdoors? And don't even dare mention that Kenya dominates all distances from 800m to the marathon because the 5000m and 10,000m have by far been dominated by Ethiopia. How about the prestigious marathons around the world Ethiopians are winning? I will give you plenty of examples if you like. For your information, on the women's side, Ethiopia dominates all distances (5000m-marathon) -not Kenya. I agree with your point that Kenya has a lot more professional runners but the rest of your information is false or exaggerated.
It's very simple to settle this. How many world records does Ethiopia have and how many world records does Kenya have? We'll wait... Even for the women, we'll wait...
Danke. Super schnell!
Muito obrigado pelo vídeo!Muito emocionante!
Well done Dennis thank you for making Kenya n's proud ..Berlin marathons 2014
Thanks!!
What a runner! Now Kipchoge stacking his world record...
Dude ran his heart out and he was not trying to give some interview until he rests haha
Well done Dennis Kimetto, you are inspiring
How do these guys fuel themselves! Will power is a must, but they got to be fueling themselves something special to keep that pace. Amazing
Unbelievable. That beats that Boston time that is considered aided.
Now someone can say that Berlin is the fastest course , without any hills or wind
That is what I call endurance. Making the body subject to the will. Well done Kimetto. Made me a proud Kenyan.
Sub 2 hours won't happen for at least 50 years, and may never occur. (Sub 2:02 will be hard enough.) As someone else stated, 1:59:59 is a km ahead of Kimetto, who is already sprinting in perfect conditions on a fast course. Why can't we just be happy with the fact these guys are already producing amazing results (2:54 k pace!) rather than focusing on something that's still well out of reach?
The one and only sub2.03 without carbon plates, that's called milestone in history of running.
This dude runs a marathon at my 800 pace!
I just met dennis today . in town for honolulu marathon. He is nice
Insane performance :D
RESPECT!!!!!
una bestia total , mis respetos para estos grandes atletas.
I have only won one race in my entire life but alas, it was a large race, with about 100,000 other contestants, after I won all the other contestants were killed while I was held captive for nine months.
kimetto grande bravissimo
Bravo Kimetto, bravo Kenya.Thank you for making Kenya proud!!
wonderful world record well done by Dennis Kemitto
Unbelievable! Kimetto's new world record 2:02:57, first under 2:03;00, congratulation. The result seems even better when you look close at the video of his finish. Both clocks; at the gate over finish line and at the right low corner of video were showing 2:02:55 at the moment, when Kimetto touched the finish line tape.
the guy is running at the sprinting speed of an average person for straight 2 hours, what a machine!
Ребята красавцы просто!
Brutal los keniatas!!!, Brutal.
¿Dónde están sus límites?
thanks!
There's some great coverage here, if you solidly believe that Anna Hahner is the only thing that matters. Hooray for her, but for about 30 minutes, I bet there were more than just a handful of other people running too.
Hello world class marathoners, may i know where u guys buy that stamina from,i need to purchase one for my Jakarta 2017 marathon event on 29 october.
funny moment 1:14:35 As ELMO said: when you gotta go, you gotta go!
Congratulations Dennis Kemmeto and first woman Anna Hahner
sub 2hr after doing the arithmetic will have to be following a sequence of 425,440,445 miles till mile 24 and the last two miles at a tiny bit under 445 pce.
felicidades kimetto
Sehr gut!
Stud pacemakers... They aid the runners by cutting through the air. Part of the reason why Berlin race is so fast.
E.Mutai is interesting as his best times was around 2:06 for many years. Until the 2013 Chicago marathon where he was 2nd with 2:03:52. What an interesting that he has ran 2:06 few weeks before on the London marathon and from Chicago he is running about 2:03 like now. What happened? I tell all of you that another chemicals was found by his trainers. Good to know at this kind of level only a 10-20second better running time seems incredible and took years to achieve.
And 3 years later, this record still remains unscathed, despite a lot of attempts!
Well things change, the beauty is that the record is still held by a Kenyan official and unofficially,
No me cansare de ver este vídeo, marco mi vida para siempre #rhino #xtistephania #yosoytuspiernas Berlin la mejor del mundo
Gratulation
nice video 🎥 👌
The orange running shoes of the first two competitors appeared to be enormous. Presumably there are regulations concerning their coefficient of restitution?
Shalane Flanagan @14:20 and @2:30:00. And Shalane in top 3, taking the bronze medal *WHOO-HOO!* That's what I came here to see. Great athlete - fantastic effort!
Extrem wie da manche an ihr Limit gehen.. Ich mach auch Laufsportvideos und freue mich über Besuch :)
I could beat this guy...on a bike... wait, nearly 13 mph for 26 miles, nevermind... Oh I could beat him by driving... just remembered that I'm 14 and can't drive...crap
Dennis Kimetto on july 31/2016 in Bogotá Half Marathon (Media Maratón de Bogotá). Lets see.
20 km/h per 2 ore! no vabbè impressionante
Can someone explain why some runners have 'Pace N' on their numbers. Do they run the whole distance? Who pays them? Do they set pace for the leading group or only certain other runners?
+Vitaly Sazanovich They are paid by the race director, and are paid to run certain splits, which are requested by the favourites. Typically they get paid based on performance, so if they drastically miss them or run irregular pacing they won't earn as much.
Each pacer has a different distance goal, they work together and in this way the pacers responsible for the later part of the race don't have to lead from the beginning. This makes it easier for the guys who need to stay on pace for 25k for example, if someone only pacing for the first 5k leads, and increases the likely-hood of them (and the lead group) staying on. After they are done with their segment, they are allowed to stay in the race if they wish, but that is quite rare.
Super
- In love with Anna's smile - S2
Question, does this marathon has any hills on it?
How wonderful the Germany's Anna could hold her smile all the way during the race
felicitaciones a ines melchor .arriba peru carajo .abrasos desde japon
Ebenezer G. dubai marathon is not major city marathon.thier was no strong kenya runners in dubai thats why ethiopia stand 1st to 10th in dubai marathon.
Buena esa por el record del mundo
Incredible run. Would not expect sub 2 hour anytime soon though. It's still 3 min faster which does not sound like much but really is. Would be like taking 8 sec off the mile world record. Sounds simple, but no one is anywhere near being able to do it. Not impossible perhaps, but not close. I do think that 2:04 will become somewhat commonplace, which would have been unbelievable 10 years ago.
What are your current thoughts on this issue especially with the recent developments,
Что за модель марафонок у них? красные которые, подскажите.
O gud! Бег классный вид спорта! Полезный
Me parece ami o cuando kimetto abraza a mutai en la llegada este se lo saca de encima? o tal vez es el cansancio.. nose
what music on start?
Absolutely supercrazy to sit and watch this. How is it possible to be this good? To much focus on the germans, though. OK, it's from german TV... Hope to see the eurosport broadcast one day.
RESPECT
Imagine what he would have run if he had *"Nike zoomX Vaporfly Next%"* shoes.
Jay B probably like 10 seconds faster? you act like they are going to actually increase your performance by 4% lmao
@@sickobamba7719 Even if they don't decrease your time by 4% at least a 0.5% time improvement would equal to 36 seconds
احسن مراطون2014 مجموعه كننيين برلين
Sorry, "stay tuned" -- 2 hours isn't happening for a good, long while.
That's over a km lead on this guy, on the fastest course in perfect weather.
2 hours seems within the gasp, but it isn't.
crazy
bravo :)
Love you Anna ❤❤❤
A testament to the human spirit
First woman finished in just over 2 hours 20 minutes.I don't think we saw her(or the second Ethiopian)at any point. We saw lots of a smiling German woman but alas had no way of knowing how the actual race was progressing. How bad.
***** Tirfi Tsegaye, from Ethiopia, female winner (2:20:18)
+Vic Millard Is the women's coverage still that bad? I remember in 1980 or thereabouts being frustrated by that, and hoping for the media to wake up and give more equal attention. Psssh!
+William Lucas Hopefully the coverage will be better this year.It would help if the women's race was of a higher quality in comparison to the men who always chase records in Berlin. It seems nobody wants to go for Paula's record!
this should be the official world record the nike adidas shoes are mechanical doping
WHAT FARM THEY USE?
Unstoppable Kenyans, it's just a matter of time and they'll run marathon under 2 hours, hope to see that in my life time.
It seems close but I have a feeling the sub-two hour marathon is a long way off. There's a big difference between 2:02:57 and 1:59:57. We'll have to see a sub 26:00 10 k and a sub 57:30 half marathon before we can even entertain the possibility of a sub-two hour marathon. I'd say at least 10 to 20 years and it may never be possible. Alberto Salazar doesn't think so.
joe schmo 10 to 20 years? I would honestly say, realistically, 3 years tops.
BeardedRunner Negative.
Dirt Diver
I second that motion.
BeardedRunner
3 years? And when is that sub- 26:00 10k and sub- 57:30 half-marathon going to happen? Let's do some math. The marathon world record is now 2:02:57. That's 178 seconds short of sub-2 hours. Hmmm 178 how many 26.2 = 6.79. So they are going to have to run over 6 seconds per mile faster. So, Kimetto ran at about 4: 41.56 mile pace. To break 2 hours, they are going to have to run at 4:35 mile pace (by my calculations which could well be wrong). This doesn't seem so unattainable, right?
Zersenay Tadese's half-marathon world record pace was about 4:27 per mile. (Which is unbelievable). So, to break 2 hours in the marathon, a runner would have to run only 7 seconds slower per mile than Tadese's half-marathon pace.
4:35 mile pace for 26.2 miles? Maybe it's possible. I'm thinking 10 to 20 years still.
