he could tell a fake from the original but at the end he was fooled by the fake
Man this movie just broke my heart sooo damn badly...
sorry man :(
I thought about him . as a boy the only familly he had was the paintings , he had a hard life as a kid , he wasnt closed to others , and finally when he decided to open up ,
finding a woman with a lot in common with her,
tried to save her,
and finally at an age you can't start again he lost everything .
when the movie was over
I was thinking for a long time,
and I felt inside my heart .
high intellectual cinema,
and emotions
@@evamentos7171 you wrote a great summary. It makes me wonder too now after having watched it years ago..
And mine, friend.
Brutall
Love the acting in the last scene. It's like he just breaks as a person in that moment, never to be the same again. And understandably so. In one fell swoop he loses the priceless collection that was his life's work and the love of his life and two best friends were the one's behind it the whole time
this what i thought ..
@@evamentos7171 that i thought also until I fell in love with a woman. His experience with being in love is priceless. He is the one who is the winner at the end. he experienced the magic of true love
@@hhspector3006 I think it 's beautiful that you see the beauty in all this. I guess your point of view is better to feel even if you are hurt by living a flat life.
Not only he took a hit. All the old men watching the movie thinking they'd too might have a chance with a young hottie got put back to the ground:D
I was gutted at the ending, though it was a key moment that the truth she contributed to the scam was that she DID love Virgil. She made that clear, and she knew the end was coming soon when she told him "If something should ever happen to us, I want you to know that I DO love you." At the end he goes to Prague to wait for her in the cafe, because she was his first and only love. It wasn't so much losing the paintings he'd stolen throughout his life that hurt him, but losing her. The woman who captured his heart. Even being betrayed by his friends didn't hurt as much as losing her. So he goes to Prague to wait for her in the hope that he'll see her again one day.
💔💔💔
I totally saw the plot twist coming. But the way how they showed Oldman in a nursing Home Broke my heart... Damn you woman!!
i want virgil oldman to revenge
Honestly, this is like the saddest movie I've ever seen!
I thought so too, the ending was very sad, it shows how much a woman can change you but also ...
@@connor25 and how much can broke man heart
I love G.Rush's performance. He was also good in The King's Speech
This same thing happen to my dad. Still kills me. They took all our families money. 😢
With his high level of skills, he sought to scam people to get his collection of originals. That's why he didn't go to the police. His hands were dirty. When you think you are the smartest, there is always someone smarter than you. I think when he pulls himself together, he will prevail.
Yes did wonder why he didn't go to Police , and that is why his hands were dirty . Would be interesting to read the book 📚📖. and his best friend did the dirty as well .
I almost cried at the end of the film. :-|
Sir The Giuseppe Tornatore what a man!!
i wached almost all his films . he is
unique
The ending was pretty painful to watch :(
With women you will never know if yours will be the best offer
Esther Nagy especially women ;)
I agree ;)
Well said sir. Spot on.
Do not trust everyone very easy, this is the point of the movie.
+neda981 Do not trust anyone at all that is the point of the movie.
Very true, just like in The Shawshank Redemption
the most important thing that u should all understand in this movie that all the collection of women painting wich he owns are the the fake ones while the girl that he met, knew, talk to and love is the original one
😢😢😢😢😢😢😢
والله فيلم عظيم .. لن تُنّسى👏💙🙏🏻❤
This film encompasses he horrors of covert narcissistic abuse at its most malignant. This is what happened to me (not to this extent) but the lying and pattens are all the same. They lie to you from minute one about everything
Very sorry there.
This is, in my opinion, the best movie ever, after The Shawshank Redemption of course. The message is simple, never trust anyone.
Elegant but powerful.
I just saw this movie, a very good movie and yes heart breaking. Yet I find if you gained a moral understanding from it. It would be beneficial in the future. Well done
How can I see the full movie in English
Damn! Everyone was in on it, but Virgil! He had terrible friends!
Anybody have a link pls thank you
What is this move name pls
Tornatore: there should be written SUUM CUIQUE on the villa gate.

Before how to marry a millionaire; now how to embezzle a millionaire!
gli hanno fatto una bastardata! but I started to suspect there was something odd when, at the restaurant, she changed her mind and wanted to keep the collection.
Picture@ 8:24 to the far right is the most alluring
The real automa exist in Aosta (Italy) by inventor Innocenzo Manzetti in 1840 and play the flute
Bravo wonderful , congratulations
So did Claire, Robert, Sarah and Billy set up the the villa and the shop like movie sets from the disabled numbers genius claire ?
Clair is the Android dwarf descendent.
Too much love will kill you💔💔💔
At 9:24 WOW

I'm super confused. lol So was this Claire in on it? I thought it was the guy, his girlfriend and Claire. But now Im reading it's Billy too. Not sure lol
I'm confused why she hid in the attic and waited for him, and why she was still acting weird (sucking her toe n shit) even when he faked leaving. That makes it unrealistic imo.
+Rico Racks Well he says that any forgery has a human element. A piece that a person cannot hide because their character is bound to show in the forgery. That might be Claire's real personality? Not sure.
+TKollaKid True. That might've been part of her real personality or just an act to make the connection between her and Virgil stronger. Anyways it was a good movie. 👍
well remember that the dwarf lady said she had seen Claire leave the house 231 times. So I'm sure she went out sometimes, went on trips etc. That explains why sometimes Virgil could not contact her for days at a time. The hiding in the attic I think was a ploy to make Virgil think she trusted him and him alone.
what a movie.. I hate womans like this.. My heart is pain the last scene.
Great drama, very artistic, but really, who would wanna screw around with a psycho chick?? Very sad ending, dramas for you!
I knew it....
Boring movie
Great movie.
You’re boring.
