This is awesome! Love all the throwback cards and seeing how each player strategized their deck with only 40 cards! This makes me want to play the tcg so much more!
Very cool video! Loved the breakdown of every participant's deck before the start of the first match. Would love to see more of this kind of content in the future!
BRO THE TIMING! I'm building and sleeving my own cube as I watch this video. I've beed doing it little by little for a while now. And my cube is also from the og ex era with diamojd and peral cards, except I extended to up to the HGSS era since I didnt have nough cards to fill a cube with just those two. But og ex up to hgss is still the best, golden era of pokemon TCG imho. My favorite one, and the one that feels the most balanced to me. Basics are the supports and Stage 1s and 2s are the stars fonthe show for the most part, opposing to nowadays big basics takeover with evolutions being there jsut for support. Great video fam, this is peak content.
One of my friends built this cube (lightly modded it, but most of it is the same) and I managed to draft a 2-2-1 Waterlog Blastoise line and a 1-1-1 Swampert ex line (with the plunge Marshtomp too!) both times we played and that felt NUTTY to get the combo off
Great video! Loved the production effort behind the titles and card showcases. Also liked the switching between games, it definitely helped keep the flow and pace of the video up during the battles. There are a few improvements I’d like to note for future videos. One, I think the music was loud, often it drowned out the commentary. Two, I would have liked a little more insight into the deck building, especially during Packs 2 and 3. I would like to know more if players missed evo lines, or how/why strategies had to shift. Lastly, and maybe kinda overdone, but I wish there was a Champion’s interview and Prize Presentation at the end of the video. As the video is, the ending after the game felt abrupt. Anyways, definitely want this kind of video again. Hopefully next time can be a Rocket’s Cube competition (and everyone must wear Team Rocket garb :) ). Thank you again!
Won’t lie, I’ve veen very tempted to make a Pokemon cube with my vintage cards, base set to fossil, and also neo genesis, discovery, and revelations. I also wish more people did videos like this for other TCGs. Drafting is so fun. I love drafting in Magic the Gathering.
What a great production you did amazing work on it. And so did the players. I hope you continue to do more productions like this because I know I enjoyed it and I know many more of your viewers will as well keep up the amazing work Tricky Gym!!
What an absolute banger to start off 2025!🙌🏻🎉 This was so much fun and the edit was perfect 👌🏻 I love sealed or draft formats 💚 They are always good for a surprise 😅 Great work with everything Andrew! 💐
I just finished building my cube starting from sun and moon and on and I've been looking for videos from content creators to get ideas and you release this! Fantastic timing
There are a few modern cards I glimpsed, but mostly Supporters like Allister. It is worth noting though that Ditto Prism Star from the Sun/Moon sets seems to be a popular card teched in most Retro/Vintage Cubes, so there might be some handful of modern cards that can be splashed in these depending on it's power curve.
@ Yes, there are so many good cards with a supporting in modern but I'd love to use the cards I grew up with (SM era) against cards older players grew up with but the numbers make it impossible. I've thought about standardising the numbers and printing custom cards to level the playing field but being able to play with your own cards feels better
Mahone! How do you feel about the idea of drafting basics in pack 1 and evolutions in pack 2? It's what I'm planning for my own expanded single prize "noah's ark" cube, and I'm hoping it works out.
Thank you for adding the Saddam Hussein larvitar in the first ten seconds of the video this is a big day for Saddam Hussein larvitar fans
9:33 it shows up too mr. chef
MAHONE! MAKE THIS A SERIES AND MY LIFE IS YOURS!!
Bro exactly, cube is peak format, specially a gen 3-4 cube like this, it was by far the best tcg era.
I second this, make it a series it's fun watching them make decks and seeing them be played out.
This is awesome! Love all the throwback cards and seeing how each player strategized their deck with only 40 cards! This makes me want to play the tcg so much more!
Killer vid! Must’ve been insane to film and edit 8+ cameras.
Very cool video! Loved the breakdown of every participant's deck before the start of the first match. Would love to see more of this kind of content in the future!
The 2025 brings peak, this change in videos is massive, hope it nevers fades.

What a great way to start a Friday!!!

That was a good watch! Loved the mix of old and new cards.

This video should win an Oscar
So this is what he’s been cooking those past few weeks
This would be so fun to do with newer cards as well if power creep wasn't so extreme
