This is my second video paying homage to Anakin Skywalker. After watching The Clone Wars and Rebels I had to do a new, more complete edit about this character. I hope you will like it!

It’s actually sad because ever since anakin was born he’s been a slave. First to watto, second the Jedi and lastly to the emperor. Only in death was he free from people using him for there own benefit.

Anakin Skywalker is one of the greatest Jedis ever, he still is. I used to think how and why such a great Jedi was manipulated... Then I realized everyone isn't same from inside, the all pain and loss he suffered from his childhood made him weaker to mind manipulation.

So many people may have screwed Anakin over... but the one thing he always had was friends. Obi-Wan, Padmé, Ahsoka, Yoda, and eventually Luke. Even after everything he did, they still had good things to say about him. Hold onto your closest friends everyone, there’s always someone out there who will help you.

5:23 I literally cried, seeing how different Anakin had become when he became Darth Vader, and how badly Palpatine really did twist his mind. From the kind, caring, and powerful Anakin to the twisted evil Darth Vader, and how not even Ahsoka was able to turn Vader back.

I would argue maul was well aware of the words he used and did so intentionally, despite being over-confident he was extremely perceptive and aware of the will of the force even though he bent it to his will.

As much as people gave him shit for his acting in the 2nd movie, Hayden Christensen gave a really convincing portrayal of someone losing their mind as they're tormented by evil in the 3rd movie. Watching him turn into Darth Vader across that movie was always entertaining. And the cartoons just flushed that out even more. It really adds to how cold and lifeless he was in the original trilogy right up until he saves Luke.

the clone wars added more context to episode 2 and 3.
If you haven't already, start reading the vader comics, it really makes you feel for vader. He always was torn between the dark and the light. He constantly felt regret for what he did.
While he was crafting his red saber, he had a vision where he killed the emperor, found obi-wan, took his helmet off and fell to his knees crying, begging for forgiveness. Then when he almost got padmé back...oh man.
Anakin's minds was trying to fight against the brainwashing of the Jedi just like us when we start to question our beliefs and knowledge but denying our true self, thoughts and opinions bc we think we are wrong to question things bc they are "gods word" or we don't have a diploma to question. Balance is the key but the dogmactic criminals so called Jedi will never understand, Qui Gon was the only one who could save Anakin from madness not the darkside bc the "darkside" is part of ourselves so are the "light" but save him from madness.

Honestly vader is one of those villains you understand and can't hate no matter how much wrong he's done. You feel the depression and anger with each line.

Can you just imagine before Vader/Anakin died that the first thing he saw when seeing Luke with his own eyes was Padmè in Luke's eyes.

I totally concur. TCW is the singular reason why I eventually grew to like the prequels. While the show had the handicap of remaining a zero sum game as far as the fates of the main characters are concerned, it only dawned to me as I watched it about how many countless lives were lost on both sides (Jedi, troopers, civilians and even droids) for something that remained pointless. Palpatine was winning either way.
Not to mention, I absolutely adored Satine. 'Had you said the word, I would've left the Jedi Order' is for me the most romantic line ever in SW media.

Anakin didnt turn to the dark side because of the force he turned because of his person and episode 3 really shows that. Hes a guy who cares for his freinds and family and is willing to do what it takes to protect them. He believed the dark side could save his wife. He has absolutely no problem with killing if it means saving his family and freinds. The jedi had only tried to drive that away from him which is prob another partial reason of his fall to the dark side. He was sick of them trying to drive that part of him away from him. ROTJ really shows that even in evil, he would never stop caring for his friends and family
His fatal flaw was his selfish attachment.

When they split up to accomplish different tasks; Capture Maul, Defeat Dooku, Eliminate Grevious. Everything started to go wrong. Everything. Damn. David Filoni made that quote work so well.

The single most elegantly, perfectly edited, amazing video about Anakin/Vader ever. Everyone was included in his journey, Kanan, Ezra, Ahsoka, the Zygerrian queen, obi-wan all the others who knew him, the man and the monster, all together talking about him as if he is a ghost, a sad ghost who once was brave and kind, and ultimately he was himself as he passed into the force. Anakin Skywalker lost everything: his mother, his best friend, his padawan an in the end he even lost himself.
He was so extraordinary in every aspect.....He cared too deeply for his loved ones....ironically he becomes the one to destroy them.....everytime i watch rebels and revenge of sith.....i just wish that this time he would not turn even though deep inside we all knew that he would....ahsoka would be the one who could have stopped him from turning but once she left there was no turning back....😪😪
Ashoka couldn’t have stopped it either the only one who could have was qui gon.
I feel this so much. It's like watching Romeo and Juliet or any prequel. You get reinvested in the promise of the character, the potential and somehow wish that things aren't going to turn out like they inevitably will.

LOVE how Ahsoka and Luke were juxtaposed for their positions in Anakin’s life, as people who he was meant to *take care of* and teach and guide - Ahsoka received some of what Luke should have in that sense, but Luke was the one to bring Anakin back to his capacity to be that caretaking person. And both of them were the ones to *try* even after so many years of Vader and the Empire
I feel Anakin's pain. We want the power to save the ones we love the power to stop death. We all wish we could have all those of untimely deaths back.
Right now, I feel the same way. My dog is going to die from cancer soon. Even though, I wish I could do something to help her. I know death is a natural part of life, we all need to face it soon. But I wish we wouldn't have to. I am going to miss her so much! :(

He was born and growing up as a slave, he lost his mother (altough if the Jedi council takes her from slavery she could have been saved too), he lost his padawan (like a sister) Ahsoka, he lost his love, Padme and the Jedi council has never truly loved or respected him. Windu has always disliked him due to his nature, when Ahsoka was falsely accused, Anakin was the only one who helped and saved her. As we heard in the video too, “fear, anger, hate, cold…”
The Tragedy and Triumph of Anakin Skywalker, the Chosen One.
Misunderstood and chained his entire life, set free because those closest to him never gave up on him.
Ultimately, he didn't give up on himself either and saved the universe.

He fell and died in the end 😭😭😭 just hearing obi wan say you were my brother anakin really sunk my heart and the phrase he is key to everything those words weighed a lot. I loved you anakin😔😔😔 you loved one yet you lost one. Anakin had it hard in his entire life. He didn’t have it easy and Everyone tried to convince him to come back to the light but thanks to the emperor his mind was dark and twisted. If qui gon didn’t die he would’ve knocked some sense into him and showed him the right path bc qui gon was like a father to anakin bc he saved him from slavery and took him in with obi wan. I've been looking forward to this and I'm so happy it's here! I love the light > dark > light transition and I was fully tearing up at the final third of the video. Anakin and Vader's story has always been so powerful to me and his redemption through Luke's "I am a Jedi, like my father before me" is just so impactful and beautiful. Anakin went through a lot of pain only to extinguish it with the one who brought him the most, the one who made him lose his wife. Now Anakin is free with Padmè through the will of the Force forever and ever where they can finally be at peace together and forever

Anakin chose wrong when hes cut mace windu’s hand off cause he was blinded by his love for padme but when luke is on the ground pleading for his father to save him he finally makes to correct choice and chooses to save his son.

Wow. This was the best Star war compilation I’ve seen so far. I balled my eyes out.
There's a part in the Revenge of the Sith novelization where Anakin after killing the separatist leaders on Mustafar where he cries and laments about what he's just done after killing younglings and fellow Jedi, he truly regrets what he had done but he's gone too far already to turn back now.
Then disney comes along & takes 3 steaming dumps on this perfect story arc.

Episode 4-6: suffering
