  • When doom scrolling through eBay it can be easy to trip across an image of something that looks like what you're after but which lacks a detailed description. One Buy It Now later and oooooh, the regret, as you realise you've bought something that's exactly as described but wasn't what you actually wanted. So how can you avoid seeing what you wanted to see when it isn't actually there?

Very pertinent observation. Learning the differences in centimetres and inches befween 1/18, 1/12. 1/9, 1/8 and 1/6 scale has been hugely beneficial over the years as previously scale variances have caused me minor grief in the past. Usually from inaccurate auction listings, but the thrill of the bargain can be hard to resist. The stuff that still catches me out are the Popy diecast ships and vehicles and the standard and DX,.. and sometimes a third scale. Been far too excited and then disappointed on numerous occasions there, especially on non-english listings... which is most of them.

It doesn't matter how an item is measured, 1/8 scale is 1/8 scale in inches or centimeters. 1/64 is 1/64. Those scales are pretty much industry standards.
