Lovely. That area in general/ accoceek across the river is a tranquil place to meander, its beauty only exemplified by the history here. My husband is distantly related to a signer of the declaration of independence.
Ok, you can keep the fleets of tanks that we can't use, and the airplanes that can't fly in the rain... Can we at least cut the performing arts parts of the military?
you weren't really fighting the brits, you were fighting hessian mercaneries, while the brits were dealing with a Jacobite rebellion at home. The Revolution wasn't winning in the north from Maine to New York, and the south from Georgia to North Carolina.
The snow makes this all the more awesome.
3:27 god I love that General Washington’s March so much.
impressive with all that snow
Très impressionné par le tambour et le fifre, capables tous deux de jouer aussi bien malgré le froid. Bravo à tous les deux!
*its all fun and games until you tax the continentals on stamps and tea.*

Question:
Why did they have a spear?
I thought bayonets replaced spears
Held by the officer for identification and they didn't want officers distracted with firing a musket.
3:27 What is this song?
The song is called "Washington's Grand March"!
George Washington's Mount Vernon Thanks!!
hand out pamphlets... the speaker destroys the effect
1:15 No wonder the British lost, they laughed so hard they died. You know,"you're killing me"!
And the bugles, why such a modern sound? period, I don't think so.
If you are on UA-cam, then you are on the internet. That means you can look it up. So I did. Bugles are period correct.
So...you have a 1778 recording? Thanks, Time Traveler.
memikell you think? I don't think so
The military always used bugles... but not with keys. My huisband's REV WAR Re-enactment unit, a Dragoon one, had a bugler per regs.
