It really helps to have a calm voice covering an interesting topic to keep my focus on the subject and away from the anxiety of a potentially impending seizure - the anxiety only makes that potential increase. Thank you for the calm distraction.

When did they start to assimilate into to larger white population? How were they helpful in our wars? Etc.” Which is awful, and I can’t even imagine how the people of those cultures feel

    French Whisperer with another amazing relaxing tingly perfect video. Chichen itza is one of the most beautiful places I've been! Its absolutely fascinating to think this civilization once ruled large swaths of Latin America only to be conquered by Cortes and Pedro de Alvarado because of Guns, Germs, and Steel. Trying to imagine what daily life would have been before then would be absolutely fascinating to see!

    • @albertogonzalez01
      @albertogonzalez01 4 роки тому

      They don't conquesd also Pedro de Alvarado make a family in Mayan community.

    • @NathanASMR
      @NathanASMR 4 роки тому +1

      @@albertogonzalez01 Hi friend! With respect, it is true that the Mayan's had largely declined before the Spanish had arrived. They had splintered into several communities ranging throughout Central America. However, the Spanish did conquer the Mayans. It took the Spanish 170 years and a number of expeditions to finally subjugate the Mayan people. The last Mayan stronghold of Tayasal in Guatemala fell in 1697. The introduction of European diseases aided the Spanish, which decimated Mayan populations since they had developed no immunity. The Spanish colonization included forced labor and mandatory conversion to Christianity. Those Mayans who refused to give up their religious practices were arrested and tortured for heresy. Mayan artifacts were largely destroyed and all but a few of their sacred texts burnt. In 1820, the colonies broke from Spain, and the pressure for the Maya to abandon their culture was gone hence the continued Mayan traditions you see in Central America today. Also, Pedro de Alvarado was a well known mass murderer even amongst his peers. Serving as Cortes right-hand-man during the conquest of the Aztec capital of Tenochtitlán, Alvarado orchestrated an unprovoked massacre of unarmed men, women, and children during their celebration of Toxcatl in the city's Great Temple. This single event was exemplar of his ruthless style of command. And there are many other examples. He did have a mistress with which he had 3 children but I would hardly put that in the positive category considering his other atrocities.

    • @albertogonzalez01
      @albertogonzalez01 4 роки тому

      @@NathanASMR remember the caracterystic of a conquer like Spanish or British empire was destroyed all remaining temple and then building a church or a monument, just in this year I read in the news they discover a new temple, there are a lot of buildings like chichen Itza remain unknown until today, that's a proub of the parcial conquest, also the native tongue like mayaa in their differents and variations in the lands, also the Spanish and the British brought exlaves to work in the region. So maybe the history is just parcial.

    • @NathanASMR
      @NathanASMR 4 роки тому +2

      @@albertogonzalez01 That is true Alberto. I understand what you are saying. It was a partial conquest in the sense that when the Spanish arrived, many great cities from the Mayan Empire were already overgrown in the jungle. The civilzation of the Maya was not totally lost.
      And I recommend you read about LIDAR. It is a radar technology that archaelogists are using to explore the jungle. They are able to use this system to detect geographical variations in the ground to determine whether there are manmade structures underneath! They have discovered many temples, and also they discovered an entire Mayan city, hidden in the jungle in Guatemala and Honduras. They were able to see roads and city structures!
      Thank you for clarifying my friend! Have a really lovely evening! IT is really great to discuss history with you!

    You may wish to ponder approaching hospice units to use these for their patients and their families. A good unit manager would make these available on DVD -24/7. Or even networked through A.I. on either their own devices, or as a choice on the individual room televisions. You could negotiate a price from the hospitals through their.
    Those issues, would of course, be up to you. Make in-person appointments. Nursing supervisors/managers are far too busy for drop-in visits. As a retired RN, I see these as an extremely valued resource for patients; not just hospice, but pre-ops, recovery areas, general medical/surgical units, really, for any patients. Keep up the amazing work Sir! It certainly has helped me to relax and obtain rest, & recharge as I traverse my husbands sudden blindness, taking over bills & finances, family issues, etc.😉.

    I don’t suppose you could do a video on the Second World War, more specifically the air aspect of the Second World War, been watching you for a long time and the sound of your voice always soothes me and allows me to fall into a deep sleep. Keep up the good work :)

    Wow, just found your channel, you're very good and this type of ASMR is just brilliant! I love the combination of relaxation and interesting information. The downside is that it is very difficult to remember anything, because I fall asleep after a few minutes.. 😄 Love it!

    Mayan food is super good they were one of the first people to use Vanilla, Chocolate in their cuisine (I tasted a Mayan Chocolate-Chile Pepper drink I was amazed) also their use of Tomato with cooking fish with Annato in a BBQ way is amazing, dish was called Tikin Xic amazing when I tried it in a small little town in the Yucatan. Also tried a dish that used Squash seeds grinded up and cooked with tomato forgot the name but wow very interesting tasting. Even among Mexicans Mayans are still being discovered
