Obviously she’s physically attractive, beautiful. But the physical combined with her intelligence, frankness, reserve and mystery is what really makes Catherine Deneuve really attractive and desirable. THAT’S sophistication. And she’s one of the great actors.
Catherine Deneuve along with Sophia Loren is an exquisitely beautiful woman. Their beauty is timeless, they were beautiful young women and now they are beautiful not so young women.
Such a complete woman even her voice pitch and timbre exudes sensuality and femininity. We’ll never ever see another Catherine Deneuve in our lifetime.❤
She has always carried herself very well in her public life. She has always kept her private life very private in a good way. Besides being beautiful on the outside she has a classy reputation as a French woman actor.
I found this interview very refreshing. Unlike most actors these days, Catherine keeps everyone focused on her work. I wish other people spoke like her.
She not only has an outstanding type of beauty but also projects an aura of infinite mystery when she is looking at you. It’s magnetic. WONDERFUL Deneuve my favorite movie of hers is “Mississippi Mermaid” ❄️❄️
as beautiful as intelligent and yes she really was for a long time the most beautiful elegant woman in the world, 75 now and close to 130 movies ....she keeps going strong , sacrée Deneuve !!!
and this years 2018 she is 74 and pretty...my own French heritage comes out too and I understand her when she said, "they have to deserve me"........yes..they do have to deserve me too for all I have to offer!
This may be a rather contrarian view, but I quite enjoyed the late Bob Simon's approach and interview style here. The dynamic between he and Deneuve was unique to what I've seen in her many other interviews. His questions elicited some fascinating responses from her. He had a varied and commendable career in journalism but this interview with Catherine Deneuve is embedded in my memory.
She is the epitome of exquisite, the epitome of feminine grace, intelligence & she is just incredibly cool in every sense. I would reccomend Vadim's 1986 book, 'Bardot, Deneuve & Fonda'. He tells but never 'tells on' & treats his subject matter with respect and affection.
tov ylixir I bought it at the library it was a used book being sold. I read it several years ago and have read it about 3 times. I found it excellent, however quite sad in parts, vis a vis Bardot. One of my very favorite anecdotes, however, has to do with an airport and it's something that would never happen nowadays. Another has to do with BB and another young actress but for now my lips are sealed, lol! I won't giveaway any more than that but you will know what I mean when you read it. I would be interested in knowing how you like the book :)
...and yet too little understanding of the sustained level of her artistry, it seems. Hollywood knew not how to make use of Ms. Deneuve, although she did her best in the roles given to her.
I actually didn't realize she was still alive and when they said she was 70 I thought --well that's nice. I really would like to have the contact phone number of her plastic surgeon because I had judged her face is not being the face of her youth which was oval and so very elegant but actually for her age her face is excellent and she's obviously had fillers and she's extended her jaw line so her face is squarish which she definitely did not have in her youth and through the heyday of her acting. That said it really becomes her. She definitely does not look like a frail old lady but she has a face actually more like Ingrid Bergman who has a typically Swedish face-- square with a touch of roundness to it that gives it a feminine quality. So I thought this was quite nice to listen to her speak because she's very articulate; she's very thoughtful and actually I was quite impressed. I will say as regards to the most beautiful woman in the world I'm not sure when that was given to her that title but there are many and it's sort of odd she didn't say Liz Taylor or Marilyn Monroe. But so it goes😊
I just saw the Last Metro (Le dernier metro) directed by Truffant from 1980 which starred gerard depardieu and catherine deneuve. She was great in the film, absolutely a wonderful performance.
She's highly intelligent, very selective, very cool, very collected. I've seen about 20 of her films, her talent and ability are remarkable. She is the grande dame of French film, hands down. There are many incredible French actresses, Huppert, Haenel, multiple others. Too many to mention.
Miss Denueve is such a classy intelligent lady she deserves to be treated with the up most respect &the interwier should be just as intelligent as the Lady (in this case as Miss Denueve) ...
Everyone keeps dissing the interviewer, saying how horrible he was here, but I think he was fine. Sure, his questions could have been better, but so could Catherine's answers. There were times during this interview when she seemed unnecessarily rigid, almost difficult.
Bob Simon is hardly a "nobody" unless one has no idea of his career. In journalism, the interviewer's questions are vetted long before the interview. She seemed comfortable with the questions. Maybe it's just how the posters perceive the interview. I've interviewed celebrities: it is a very fine line, and it depends on the show. I doubt Barbara Walters could have interviewed Deneuve: her questions are far too penetrating for someone like Deneuve. Deneuve does not appear to like overly inquisitive questions, such as Walters would ask. Bob Simon knew what he was doing here.
I followed Bob Simon's well respected -- and provocative -- career from when he was correspondent at White House press meetings during the Nixon era. But in this case, either he has not followed Ms. Deneuve's own or his researchers knew too little about her roles except to give him a tabloid list of co-stars, directors, romantic relationships and awards. Her fans would have expected more insightful questions about what someone of Catherine Deneuve's stature had been like. There certainly is a great deal more about this legendary movie icon.
Obviously she’s physically attractive, beautiful. But the physical combined with her intelligence, frankness, reserve and mystery is what really makes Catherine Deneuve really attractive and desirable. THAT’S sophistication. And she’s one of the great actors.
A legend of her time, everybody men and woman loved her ,she still a beautiful woman Catherine Deneuve !
She's beautiful, she's clever, she's well-spoken, she's talented, and she's cute at the same time. Killer combination! 😍
Fantastic actress. Totally unique. She's class personified. And actually, she's done over 120 films now, and still going strong! My favourite ever...
It’s her grace that captures one’s admiration for her, her looks are sublime.
She's unbelievably beautiful and so classy.
Catherine Deneuve along with Sophia Loren is an exquisitely beautiful woman. Their beauty is timeless, they were beautiful young women and now they are beautiful not so young women.
She really was one of the most stunning actresses ! But she is not just looks, she is very smart, cultured and so so elegant...
Such a complete woman even her voice pitch and timbre exudes sensuality and femininity. We’ll never ever see another Catherine Deneuve in our lifetime.❤
Her face is literally perfect and she is amazing actress too
I have liked this woman forever.Seen most of her films, and respect her honesty.
She was unbelievably beautiful, naturally sophisticated icon, before surgery. Now she is simply an elegant aging lady. Always a great artist!!!!
She has always carried herself very well in her public life. She has always kept her private life very private in a good way. Besides being beautiful on the outside she has a classy reputation as a French woman actor.
The interviewer is especially annoying but she handled him well.
she's so beautiful omg I love her
adriana moreira - so tight 😻❤️
She lives her life with no apologies. We all should.
She's regal. Truly the most beautiful woman in the world.
Timeless beauty. Classy, mysterious, sophisticated, intelligent. Great actor too.
The european cinema has offered great roles for actresses over 50: Deneuve, Huppert, Binoche, Dench, Smith, Rampling... This is great.
Great observation and some fantastic films they all made.
Renan C. Maia for that reason, i love the european cinema, is not like hollywood
...Aimée; Adjani; Valli; Loren; Cardinale; Sanda; Beart; Bardot...;
The french Diva. Beautiful, misterious, classy and elegant. I've always been a fan of hers. Still gorgeous after this years.
The most appealing woman I have seen. Mastered the ability to remain intriguing. Extremely clever.
This is the best interview in the world
I loved her in "The Hunger" with David Bowie. Timeless and Elegant Lady.
So stunning in that movie!!!
Catherine Deneuve is without doubt still the sexiest woman I have ever laid eyes on. Vive la France
She is a perverse woman, friend of pedophiles.
@CharlyRomeo2009 que défends Polanski I mean.....
Grace, beauty and talent. She's timeless.
no talent !
Qui est cette connasse qui dit que deneuve n'a pas de talent!?!? Surement une femme laide....frustre.....sans niveau.......
Sûrement cette imbécile est si jalouse de notre Catherine Deneuve que nous adorons TOUS !!! 😘♥️🙏
@@annieberdaa8787 😂😂😂😂exactement.....👍👍👍👍🖐🖐🖐🖐🖐
The most beautiful woman in the world
If I could cast Catherine in a film.. she needs to win an Oscar already ❤
I found this interview very refreshing. Unlike most actors these days, Catherine keeps everyone focused on her work. I wish other people spoke like her.
A timeless and classic beauty..
She not only has an outstanding type of beauty but also projects an aura of infinite mystery when she is looking at you. It’s magnetic. WONDERFUL Deneuve my favorite movie of hers is “Mississippi Mermaid” ❄️❄️
Titanul cinematografiei, o femeie frumoasa, rafinata uimitoare♥️❤️🌺💐♥️♥️🌹🌹❤️❤️🌺
4:50 it's amazing how her daughter looks so much like her father, Marcello. It's almost like looking at him. Wow.
She kind of looks like Drew Barrymore in that photo to me too
as beautiful as intelligent and yes she really was for a long time the most beautiful elegant woman in the world, 75 now and close to 130 movies ....she keeps going strong , sacrée Deneuve !!!
Great interview!
ooh my god....she is so beautiful on so many levels!
"Ah sex." LOL I love her.
kitnkabootl
and this years 2018 she is 74 and pretty...my own French heritage comes out too and I understand her when she said, "they have to deserve me"........yes..they do have to deserve me too for all I have to offer!
What a gorgeous woman... I've had a crush on her since I was a little boy in the early 1970's.
What a contrast. Pompous, stuffy old fool meets cinema beauty with brains, elegance.

Look at her during The Hunger. Dressed in Yves Saint Laurent. There's nothing more gorgeous and elegant then she was. There's class for you.

70 years old and she looks the way she is...ah...amazing!
She is reminding me of an actress...RIP Inger Stevens...also beautiful
Happy Birthday Miss Deneuve! You are a wonderful actress and a true beauty!
She’s is so stunning
Wish her sister Franciose was with us today. They might have been together here.
her sister was also exceptionally beautiful
Beauty, charm and class
She is the epitome of exquisite, the epitome of feminine grace, intelligence & she is just incredibly cool in every sense. I would reccomend Vadim's 1986 book, 'Bardot, Deneuve & Fonda'. He tells but never 'tells on' & treats his subject matter with respect and affection.
Thank you, will read now :)

Fascinating interview. Absolutely loved it!

Hollywood knew not how to make use of Ms. Deneuve, although she did her best in the roles given to her.
Saw only one movie - Bonne Pomme and became a fan 😊
She is 70year old....waaauuuww what a beautyfull and perfect face she has...my kind of woman 🙏🙏❤

Kind of surprised that when he was mentioning her work in the 60s he doesn't mention The Young Girls of Rochefort or her sister, Francoise Dorleac.
I thought she was the most beautiful woman in the world. Not merely physically, but beautiful in every way.
Elle me toujours semblait adorable-dēs que je me souviens dans ce monde-lā.
В молодости... хорошенькая. С возрастом ...шикарная.
shes such a well rounded personality..
She is the mother of all things beautiful!

She is so very beautiful in such a classy and subtle way.
SO BEAUTIFUL
WE should all be as blessed as that reporter, just to be in her company.
I love her film "The April Fools" with Jack Lemmon.. I watch it about once a month!
keri caye I adore that movie too !
Fire the interview guy. Total jacksss
Catherine Deneuve, is celebrating her 76 birthday today, 22 October 2019. (Born in 1943).
That's my grandmother's birthday!
My mother’s birthday! Another elegant woman…
Still beautiful at 70... wow.... natural beauty. No lifts.
Je t`aime catherine
French women never age.
Next time please get a grown-up to interview her.
Christ's sake, CBS.
So cringe-inducing. Can we go beyond "Why are French women so sexy?"
We French don't need Oscars. France is paradise .. America is a job
Just say surrender.
what's the reason of interviewing somebody if you talk over them and you don't accept their answer?
Elegance incarnate.
The most beautiful woman in the world? Oh wow there are sooo many
Impossibly beautiful. She would have, could have gotten more diverse roles in Hollywood as an actress.
In total agreement.
Catherine Deneuve 🌷❤️✨✨🌸
La hermosa francesa wonderful
Always a beautiful woman, born beautiful will leave this earth beautiful …when there is non plastic surgery of course ,she looks great !
Miss Denueve is such a classy intelligent lady she deserves to be treated with the up most respect &the interwier should be just as intelligent as the Lady (in this case as Miss Denueve) ...
Roberto Soto
Deneuve.
So much more classy than the women nowadays.
Oh really ?
She is right in everything she says, very wise
Everyone keeps dissing the interviewer, saying how horrible he was here, but I think he was fine. Sure, his questions could have been better, but so could Catherine's answers. There were times during this interview when she seemed unnecessarily rigid, almost difficult.
I don't think she was rigid... if anything, she was very modest and coming across as humble instead of giving easily into compliments.

There certainly is a great deal more about this legendary movie icon.
And can you imagine Catherine Deneuve and Cary Grant together?????
Most beautiful woman in the world???? KIDDING!
I have always thought Catherine Deneuve was more beautiful than Brigitte Bardot. She's France's answer to Princess Grace of Monaco.
Her face is way more beautiful
Hermosa diva
she is my favor french actress,,,,,,,,,,,,,she is a beauty personified,,,,,,,,,,,,al
Pretty and talented woman!
Goodness ,The Divine Catherine...
Rare classy beauty ❤️🌷
I hate the interview man😂😂
I would say she is among the beautiful women in the world. Not say the most beautiful. Because there are many beautiful women in this world.
A cool reserved lady with class. I would love to hold her hand and walk a few blocks with her. Thank you from America. May you be blessed.
Cecile Strong imitates Deneuve very well.
Timeless Beauty
