As the owner of this video let me make this clear.... If you start a political war in the comments I will remove them! This is not the place for it and I will not tolerate it on my video! So take it somewhere else!!!
I have no idea what anyone's political affiliation is nor do I care! This video is simply meant to show respect and love for the greatest country in the world. MHO...... Everyone is entitled to their own opinions, this is mine!
I am not sure I get your meaning behind "is this cause a typical liberal posted it?" I am the one who posted it and I am definitely not a liberal. My comment is because several people have tried to start political wars here and I refuse to allow political garbage to stain what this video is all about. It is about a group of high school children who most don't know each other, coming together and honoring the greatest nation in the world! That's it......
Kathy, have the students been doing this every year? Do they still do it? I'm the kind of person who would stay a night in this hotel just to witness this take place! :)
Absolutely beautiful.I'm not an american but I'm convinced this is the way the US anthem was meant to be sung and not like the butchered version by the pop stars at sporting events.
+Fred OnFulton They should start at this pace and then break out into a fast pace version like when they sped up the tempo in the movie The Rocker, "Instead of a canoe paddling around on a pond, we were like a tank flying down a mountain!"
Thank you! But it is free! You just have to make it to the hotel where they do this. It will be coming up again in February 2017. I hope to make a new recording!
As a former U.S Navy Sailor, Desert Shield/Storm, former Army Nat'l Guard Soldier, Iraq War Vet all I can say is AGAIN JUST HOW TRULY BEAUTIFUL THE NATIONAL ANTHEM CAN BE!!!!!!!!
Thank you for your service. I am a USCG Veteran and have always been moved by our Anthem. Standing in this hotel and witnessing this even always brought me to tears.
We're not that messed up. 😉 I used to think that too, but then I found out that a lot of what we think is a problem is actually generated by Putin and his bots/trolls on social media. I think we'll be OK. 😉 We're Americans. We're stronger than some foreigner's hatred and jealousy!! 😊
Male or female, black or white, democrat or republicans, Christian or athirst we must unite under one flag. For one day can we all restrain for hate, negativity, politics, and just show the world that America is one beautiful diverse strong country. America has accomplished so many things and made so many inventions. Can we all just stop to think about that. America the beautiful
Our Founding Fathers would have tears of unadulterated, sheer pride streaming down their faces while falling to their knees if they could be here to hear this. THIS is why we say we will sacrifice our very lives to protect this land which we call Home. THIS is why we are fortunate to call ourselves "America" Because regardless of our differences as individuals, one song can remind us of the struggles and sacrifice of generations prior centuries ago to ourselves...those that gave everything to hand us what we have today.
I participated in KMEA in 2012 with both band and choir and sung the National Anthem in this hotel. It was absolutely one of the single most accomplishing feelings of my life and I would do it over in a heartbeat.
Thank you so much! It is such a moving experience to see in person. I have witnessed this live 7 times and it always brought a tear to my eyes! I am so glad that it prings you peace and hope.
I wish the high schools here in California had the unity to do this. I'm so jealous how family like they are...at my school we are too busy seeing who has the best Snapchat stories...
TheRealSmooch I am a Russian and I have to agree that it is wonder when people sing the anthem together because they love their nation instead of superstars singing anthems because of money.
The United States of America , may she forever be blessed with the grace and love of God. Her power will Never cease and the resolve and wit of the incredible American people will never be lost. May god continue to bless her and guide our great United States of America
I hate the state my country is in right now, but this is so beautiful on a level I can’t even express. I got chills through my whole body during the last 30 seconds.
Hey I'm in this one. This is the last time I sang the anthem at KMEA and I really didn't expect to take it so seriously 7 years later. I love picking out my own teenage head in the video and knowing that the young man I see there had no idea what would happen to him in life. Better and worse, I'm glad for every moment. Thanks for sharing this.
That’s amazing!!! I had 2 children that sang in this one! It was one of my favorite times of year going through KMEA!!! The experience never failed to move me to tears!
I personally think this is how the national anthem should be sung, not by one person or a few people, but the whole audience or crowd or stadiums of people should sing it, that shows their respect for the country and deep down in their hearts how much they love it. When these people sang it you can really hear their emotion, science has proven that when a large group of people sing together, their heart beats sink together with the rhythm and beat together
I sang in the choruses of the Massachusetts Music Educators Association in 1996 and 1997, and we did something like this too. Nice to see total strangers putting common interests and skills to good use for their own enjoyment, as well as that of others. Bravo!
Amazing voices! You don't need to be an U.S citizen to feel goosebums when hearing this, but if i were i'm sure i would have tears in my eyes after hearing this amazing kids singing!
This is my favorite performance of the Star Spangled Banner ever. I’ve listened to almost every National Anthem in existence, and though I may be biased given I am in the US, I think ours is the most beautiful. It’s a pity that we don’t live up to it anymore.
Ilovesimsfreeplay16 its the Kentucky all state choir. Its pretty much a chair made of all of the best high schoolers in the state. they also have all state band for band students as well. only the best of the best get in
These kids work so hard to get into this choir!!!! I have been fortunate enough to have had 3 of my children participate in this choir over 9 years! My 20 year old daughter was a prat of this for 7 years! It was an amazing experience and qualified her to travel Europe for a month singing with another choir!!!
I'm not American and am far from America's biggest fan, especially at the moment, but this rendition was simply stunning. It was mythic, grand and sweeping, both soft and quite but also triumphant, sincere and deeply powerful. It completely took my breath away in stunned awe. I love my own country's national anthem, but I've never heard any anthem (not sure even any song) sung quite like this before.
I admittedly will say America, and almost every other country is not in the greatest shape, and just about everyone has commited atrocities, but that doesn't mean I can't love it. Born and raised from a family of immigrants, and damn proud of it.
I just found out about this via Twitter. This is absolutely the best rendition of our National Anthem that I've ever heard. So amazing!!! I can listen to this over and over.
At this time when people are choosing sides over politics with the elections coming up, it's just nice to know that if we take a step back, we're still proud to be American no matter what. The song was beautiful.
I agree! there's so much hate. my family is split in half offer trump or Hillary. can't we all just be glad we're American!? all I know is I'm doing alot better than my cousins in Sweden...boy am I thankful.
U.S. Army soldier here and oh my god I haven't cried in over 8 years. This was undoubtedly the greatest rendition of the star spangled banner i have ever heard, never have I been more proud of serving my country. God bless America and god bless President Trump
Thank you for your service!!!! This means a lot to me! I was honored to have 2 children participating at this event that year! As a US Coast Guard Veteran I can't make it through the anthem without crying but this even especially moves me to tears!!!! God Bless America and her people!!!
I am in a high school band and have been for a while and the syncronization especially given the size of the room and amount of voices was truly increadible the chords were full and heavy I loved every second. this should be the only way this song can be sang.
I want to experience this first hand so bad!!!! that was so beautiful you can tell all these people have a great knowledge of music and I highly doubt even ONE person missed a note! Thank you for posting this.
Thank you!! These kids work very hard to get here! They do this each year at the end of January/beginning of February for KMEA All-State choir! It it truly breathtaking!!!!!!
As an non American citizen, and not related to American. I God Bless you all after hearing this song. From the heart of George Washington and the eagle in the sky. Where you could be the peaceful American dream, Amen!
A beautiful rendition of our national Anthem. Sung with dignity unlike many renditions we hear today at various sports events which seem to be "jazzed" up and in my opinion not respectful of our great nation.
What a beautiful thing to see our youth stand up and sing what so many of us stand for, what so many young men and women have battled for. Our country is so divided and little things like this are what bind us together and strengthen us.
Thank you!!! Doing this sparked my daughter to continue singing the National Anthem at local sporting events and keeping it very traditional! She has such pride in this country and this is one way she can show it!!!
This rendition of our National Anthem evokes so much more "love of Country" than that of it being "wrecked" prior to a sporting event by some pop singer who can scream with the best of them!!! Thank you for sharing!
God I really need this, a bunch of people by themselves singing this may not be as impressive. But all of them "united" and "together" the create something powerful both metaphorically and in, well great in this video. This video needs to be shared on mass to spread a message. United we are stronger, divided we are at our weakest. Thank you.
It is an amazing experience to witness and as a veteran, standing in the crowd and saluting is simply wonderful!!!! Good luck in being a fireman! We need more good people in the world willing to risk for others!
I’ve been watching videos from this event. Different POVs from different angles and different floors. I’m singing and weeping every time like an American. I’m Filipino who’s never been to the US
This gave me chills. THIS is how our national anthem was meant to be sung. Together, as one country and one people, celebrating the freedom we have been blessed with. Thank you for sharing this.
I abhor when our anthem is sung by one person. It always sounds best when sung by many people. Doesn’t even have to be a choir. The audience at any sport event would sound better than whoever they get to sing it. It just sounds better together.
How impressive and grand. This is the way it should be sung - with feeling, dignity and class. Thank YOU! Seems there are still Americans left with dignity, feeling and class regarding their awesome country.
This is absolutely STUNNING! My husband is currently in the Military and in Iraq. This brought my daughter & I to tears. This is so beautiful! God bless America! Proud to be an American!
As the owner of this video let me make this clear.... If you start a political war in the comments I will remove them! This is not the place for it and I will not tolerate it on my video! So take it somewhere else!!!

+Joey Hoffman this is the Hyatt in downtown Louisville, KY. It is usually around the first week of February!
+Joey Hoffman 311 South 4th st Louisville, KY they do it Thursday night, Friday night, and Saturday night.
+Sad bot This is very beautiful but verrrry slow. They need to pick up the tempo.
+Fred OnFulton They should start at this pace and then break out into a fast pace version like when they sped up the tempo in the movie The Rocker, "Instead of a canoe paddling around on a pond, we were like a tank flying down a mountain!"
No instruments, no background effects. Just voices. So f-----g beautiful! I'm not even an American but I can proudly say: *God bless America!*
I would pay so much money to experience this in person.
Thank you! But it is free! You just have to make it to the hotel where they do this. It will be coming up again in February 2017. I hope to make a new recording!
Kathy Bagwell well.. DID YOU GET IT RECORDED
I was not able to go this year! My son went and I am still trying to get it pulled off his phone and uploaded!!!!

Our country might be all messed up, but by god I love it. And the rendition was lovely, no frills and 1000 voices gives it so much power

William Bradey no such thing as being overly patriotic
Felt like one of those times where humanity is at its lowest , but will continue to fight on with hope and bravery.

Watching from Canada, I've always liked your National Anthem. Never gets old hearing it, very nice.
Beautiful. I've seen this a million times, and each time it brings a tear to my eye. God bless these kids!

I think this may be the very best rendition of all the KMEA performances of this song. Absolutely outstanding!
4 years later, still true.

This is the best singing of anything that has ever been done! Simple as that.
More than 8 years on, and this is still the greatest version of your national anthem that I have ever heard. Kudos to the students involved!
Agreed. I come back to this every July 🇺🇲
