Elephants Everywhere | Adine Ends Up in the Middle of the On-Edge Wild Herd

- On her way to the orphanage one morning, Adine finds the wild elephant herd. She stops by a young bull foraging on the outskirts of the herd. The bull is secreting from his temporal glands. Elephants secrete from their temporal glands when they experience intense emotions such as stress or excitement. The young bull doesn’t seem to mind Adine’s presence though, so he might still be affected by something that happened earlier.
When Adine starts to drive away, an elephant cow walks into the road. Like the bull, she is secreting from her temporal glands. She seems a bit tense, but she moves closer to Adine’s car, showing that Adine is not the cause of her stress.
Adine eventually continues driving and passes by another secreting elephant, confirming that the herd is on edge. She then comes up on a young cow. This cow is also secreting, and also seems tense. She trumpets, but Adine rumbles (the way she does with the Jabulani elephants) and she seems to calm down. She’s still wary of Adine, but Adine continues talking to her and she eventually calms down enough to move on.
There are a number of elephants ahead, and Adine notes that the herd seems spooked. Most of the elephants are secreting, and they are tense and on edge. They are wary of Adine, but they don’t show any signs of wanting to charge at her. Because of Adine’s experience with elephants and her knowledge of their body language, she can determine that it is safe to keep moving past the elephants.
Near the orphanage, Adine finds lots of elephant dung in the road. This shows that the wild herd passed by the back of the orphanage and homestead. - Домашні улюбленці та дикі тварини
Always have such concern for the elephants. Wishing they could all be safe from the dangers they face. They are truly magnificent creatures, should be cherished and protected. Thank goodness for people like Adine and the carers.
I agree with this and worry for all of them.
They are so beautiful such amazing animals
Love your post. ❤ Thank you.
It feels as if my heart has grown in the years I've been following HERD and learning about the macro of elephant consciousness by getting to know this relatively small herd of about 17.
Leave it to Adine: she's even taught me to care about dung beetles. 😂
🇸🇿🌍🌿🦋🐘🐑🐘🙏🩵
We are all part of the web of life.Whether greater or smallest we have a role, and should never disturb or damage other lives if possible. Too often we don't realize until much later the damage that was caused. For instance look at the invasive big headed ant wiping out the Acacia ant that has caused lion to change it's prey species. I have seen first hand the damage that invasive species cause both plants and animals.
I hope that HERD continues to be successful. ❤🙏
So nice to see the wild elephants looking healthy and strong 🐘
Respect and patience with the neighbors is a very good policy. Grateful this all went so well. 🐘
Thanks for taking us on that ride, Adine. I felt safe with you 👍🏼
Thank you for letting us see the wild elephants. They are beautiful. Much love.
Adine has a beautiful soothing voice
Now that's an incredible drive to work
Despite spending all day with elephants, Adine still gets excited about the wild ones. So glad she has not lost her sense of wonder.
That wild bull is magnificent
Thanks for sharing your morning wild elephant encounters, I can only dream of experiencing a bit of the wonderful life you have there.
Thank you for sharing. I wish the best for that herd and their circumstances. They are all so beautiful and lovely to see.
Wonderful 😊. Thanks very much Adine 🌹🌹🌹
You are a elephant whisperer. I love how those wild elephants felt safe because of your energy. I wonder what stressed them out earlier.
that would have made my heart beat a kittle faster. Good job staying calm in this entire interaction, Adine
What a beautiful young bull😃🙏
Thanks for sharing Adine ❤ beautiful animals ❤️
Wow that was amazing Adine. First Bulls 🐘 then Cows 🐘🐘and then back to Bulls 🐘 and all wild. They truly were not stressed by you being there but they all were secreting. So close to the homestead. Thank you Adine for sharing this with us.❤️🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘❤️
Precious lives ❤️ we have to protect and respect them and all animals. Thanks very much again Adine 🌹🌹🌹
Ben detto cara Candida! Tutti nel mondo dovremmo davvero rispettare tutti gli animali.
They’re such magnificent animals! ❤
This young bull is beautiful and healthy looking. I pray the wild ones stay safe. Thank you Adine and all the caregivers for doing all you can to keep these animals safe and healthy😍
I am in love with 🐘 s
@@ulla1623Ditto. Have been for the longest.
Nice to see Adine stop and chat with the locals. Interesting observations as to why they were disturbed. Thanks 😊
Beautiful elephants.
These animals are all so precious. It’s amazing how they surround you without even being noticed. We experienced that in Sabi Sands/SA. A herd of around 15 individuals approached us without any aggression or tension. The matriarch was extremely relaxed although they had 3 baby ellies. We simply did not hear them coming until they were right around us. It is an experience of a life time to come so close to them.
Its amazing how they do that considering the size of those big ol feet they got but its as if they walking on carpet not making a sound I love elephants
That was a very interesting interaction with the wild herd. They did not seem bothered by the vehicles.
I can't believe elephants just eating grass all day. And become so huge. I love their eyes. So intelligent. The sound they make reminds me of cats purring.
❤
Beautiful shots of beautiful elephants! Love the young cow who trumpets. Love to hear that!
Thanks, Adine ! 🐘
Thank you for your vedios. When I am gloomy, I always watch your adorable elephants. They are precious and very smart.❤🎉😊
Absolutely my favourite animal (dnt tell my cats), what a stunning journey Adine, oh the young Mama was very stressed, and handled beautifully, the Elephants are magnigicent 💚
What gorgeous wild elephants! Handsome bulls and pretty cows! All with perfectly shaped ears! And how well behaved they were despite secreting!😍❤💙💯👋👌👍🌿🍀🌞🔥🔥🔥🇿🇦
I was thinking that same thing about their ears😊
Word got around that Aldine loves her Ellie’s,elephant communication, lol😊
I am so glad there are people like you on the earth.
How lovely to see such a healthy looking wild herd. But my only concern is their lack of fear of vehicles and people .....
Maybe they're stressed, because they steel apples in the neighbors garden😋 which would proof, Elephants have a conscience 😁
Wow, they are really hitting the salad buffet hard….must be primo tasting grass.
Glad you speak ELEPHANT and have nerves of steel 😮
I bet they know near Herd is a safe place. ❤
You are so brave
Our very brave Adine. God Bless her. 💕🇺🇸
I look exactly like that when I'm stress eating.
Except it's bar-b-que sauce dripping from your temple(?)
😊
I had the same thought: comfort eating 😊
Ha ha ha. 😂
Yep! Me too!!!! 😂❤🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘❤️😉
Adine is an elephant whisperer 🐘🐘❤
Even the wild herds respect you, Adine. They somehow know your love for them and for our HERD. I believe this is communicated between them.
More and more studies are coming to light as to the important of elephants for seed dispersal, spreading of nutrients, recycling of nutrients (think of the dung beetle, everything returned to the soil), with differences of plant dispersal and regeneration different among African and Asian elephants. "African forest elephants are known as "mega-gardeners of the forest", because of their ability to boost carbon stocks and disperse vital nutrients.". The turnover of soil and plants is followed by bird and reptile insect eaters. Elephants are considered to prune many plants and tress stimulating new growth.
Thank you for sharing! I learned something new today ❤🙏🇺🇸
Tyfs 💗🐘
Good morning everybody. Its 5.30am in Malaysia now. Its so relax to watch the ellies in the morning. To hear them rumbles and eating. The eyes so cool to see and beautiful.
One word. Thankyou 👍
That was a bit scary to me 😅 So cool that they seem to "understand" Adine`s comforting and friendly words!
Wonder what was stressing all of them? Nice interaction ❤🐘
Maybe they were secreting because they were close to the homestead and could smell the Jabulani elephants and carers.😊
@@Dnvr8083 could be!
My first thought was ..Mambo! just kidding Mambo 💙i love you.
@@darcydistefano363 lol 😂
Imagine encountering a herd of wild elephants on your way to work in the morning. Amazing.
All elephants seem to like something about Adine's voice! She speaks elephant!
You are very brave Adine. I stopped breathing for a while.
Adine they weren't stressed at all. The secretions were because they were excited that you were in their midst. You are a Rockstar to them🥰
Fantastic video❤
Absolutely FASCINATING! For those of us who love elephants but will maybe never be able to get close to one this is so wonderful. Thank you for this one.
Wonder what had them alarmed. Adine has such a calm, respectful and understanding way of interacting with them. It’s amazing to me that I can actually “tell” the difference between this herd and the Jabulani herd. That they are healthy, albeit stressed, is comforting.
Glad those wild elephants are ok with you in the middle of their herd. Beautiful !
elephant blowing her trumpet at you ... I think sometimes must be a bit scary out there!
Wow, they are very close to the homestead. I hope they are safe from whatever frightened them.❤🐘
That young cow has beautiful eyes ❤
Wow you know your elephants
Adine understands elephantish, even the local dialect! 🐘❤
I enjoy all of your videos, yet this one is so special because it is a rare view of the “wild” elephants. What a treasure! Thank you so much for sharing this!
Adine your living the best life. Stay safe ❤
I have so enjoyed seeing the ‘Herd’ elephants but also the wild ones you happened upon ! Iv learned so much regarding behaviors.. & how these wild elephants behave as compared to your Herd. Also very interesting how young wild bulls that aren’t part of a herd.. stay around other herds but don’t bred with them. It’s all -SO-interesting. Thank you again.. so much for filming all these episodes ! 👍👌👍❤️🌷
Adine, your expertise, knowledge and ability to communicate with Elephants really came into play here. If I found myself suddenly surrounded by wild Elephants Adine, you are the person I'd want beside me. I wonder what stressed them? Lions maybe? Thank you for sharing this with us and well done. 😊💚🐘💚🙏
Agreed. To be on the safe side though, we all should probably learn how to (Adine) 🐘 rumble! Just in case 😊
@@arellerodejale7458 Good thinking!! 😄👍🐘💙
Very enjoyable to see this herd and how they reacted to Adine.
These wild elephants look very healthy and have perfect ears. May they stay safe from poachers and others who want to harm elephants. Very grateful for all Adine and the carers do for those who were hurt or abandoned. ❤❤❤
Amazing footage of a wild herd
Wow, what a handsome, healthy, young bull! He looks flawless, as if painted ❤
I wish both herds could co-exist in peace and forge together. It will be far safer for the wild herd❤
What a handsome boy!! I think they know where you came from. What a blessing to see the wild herd!
Impressive to see so many healty wild elephants, but als youre calm acting around them. I know you have experience with the Jabulani herd but When i was in youre place, i do not know what i should do. 😂
I freely admit my heart was in my throat watching this.
You have nerves of steel, Adine!
Do you think they were upset because they have seen the Jabulani Herd ? It might be amazing going to work and instead of being tight like sardines in the subway, meeting with a wild Herd of Ellies 😅
Cara Marie-Claude mi piace il tuo pensiero.
@@vivianaiacomelli3080 Merci Viviana bonne journée et bonne semaine
@@marie-clauderecchia4531 ciao cara ,altrettanto a te.😊🫠🤗👋👋👋
Adine corajosa, fiquei tremendo 😲😢😲😲
Adine the elephant whisperer wow they are so close to the property probably want to visit love 💕 from Canada
I'm all the way over here in Tx 🙏& hoping 2 things; Aldine stays safe & we get to see the set of twin 🐘🐘s❗😝✌❤
Why the stressing? Could there be poachers in the area? I hate when they stress🥴
Thank you for sharing this. It was very interesting watching the wild herd acting with Adine. ❤
The grass looks good!
Wow, the wild herd was literally at HERDS front door!! Adine, were you alone in the vehicle? Have you ever driven that road at night?
Indeed it is amazing how easily elephants can be hidden by the vegetation even when you are quite close to them. My friend and I were in a very similar setting with a single bull elephant farther off the road than any of these - we had stopped the car and were watching him forage just like this. My friend took out his camera. The sound of him taking a photo [it was a film camera] made the elephant upset - he trumpeted and charged the vehicle. It was a "bluff" charge, but quite terrifying. You really can't be too respectful of elephants - you have no idea what experiences they have had in the past with humans. Adine is so fortunate to be able to have these encounters with wild elephants and she is intimately aware of their body language and behavior. It's wonderful to see them eating the lush grasses after the rains.
Gracias ADINE Interesante explicación acerca del comportamiento de ésta y otros enormes elefantes está muy robusta muy bien cuidada Usted siempre atenta 🙏
It seems like the wild herd and the Jabulani herd stress each other out by their scents. This isn't the first time wild elephants have been near HERD. I think they tried to get through a fence.
Tokwe is particularly sensitive to the wild herd as if they are a threat. She has chased them and tried to kidnap a wild baby. And they most definitely know about her.
Il video è bellissimo e tu cara Adine sei la donna che sussurra, che parla, dialoga e sa calmare gli elephants con la voce suadente!!!! E loro??? Gli elephants selvaggi ???? Ti stanno a sentire!!! Che meraviglia umana che sei Adine!
Hallo Adine and all elephantcheerers......love what you are doing. Though the two encounters we've had with confrontational elephants, "easy, easy" did not work at all. Fortunately they have been "confrontational" with each other, and stormed past our vehicle with more or less 2 inches to spare......and they sneaked up on us.......lovely day.
Does Adine know why they're all so stressed?
Adine is demonstrating her deep understanding of elephant behavior...I did not realize how important those temporal gland secretions are
You know they've heard yours and the caretakers voices before. Very smart!
Amazing footage. And it's so wonderful to see the lush, green foliage!
Everything is so green! Lots of lovely food for elephants. 💜💜💜🐘
Beautiful adventure with al these beautiful, magnificent wild Ellies ❤
Fascinating 💕
Incredible meeting. Cheers Rosemary Western Australia 73yrs
The wild ellies didn’t run away from or charge at Adine because she smells of the Jabulani herd from head to toe.🐘😊 So they know she’s a friend and not a foe.😎❤❤❤
Maybe the secretion was because the knew the HERD elephants weren’t too far away. They seem calm though.
Given that elephants are spooked by almost everything, it could have just been passing by the orphan herd that freaked them out.
Wild herd close to HERD ... 😍😍😍 will they exchange their phone numbers ? 🙄
😄
Thank you for sharing. So neat to see the road on the way to HERD along with the wild elephants.
Hi🌹what's happened ? Do you know it now ? I hope that their stress has passed away after your meet, your voice and words helping them to be quiet.🌿
May be their passage at the homestead ! excited them ??! if it’d their first time !!! a big herd !! on adventure !! 😊 they rumble !!
That's got to be the best commute to work! Thanks for sharing, Adine, and for the explanations about their behaviour, fascinating as always 🙏❤🐘❤
Adine is fearless! ❤❤❤
