80's will live on Forever no matter what! Best era there ever way and by far ever will be. I may have born in '92 but i know what good music is and know what isn't and the 80's is damn good music! 80's Rock and Heavy Metal all day everyday any where any time!
YUP SAME WITH ME I TOO WAS BORN IN THE 90'S, BUT THE TIME OF MY FATHERS YOUTH 70'S AND 80'S WAS THE REAL TIME. WISH I WAS THERE BACK THAN. SOME HOW FEEL AS IF I WERE STILL THERE BACK THAN. THE TODAYS RAP AND HIP HOP SHIT JUST MESS THE WHOLE PLACE. THE 80'S WILL LIVE ON FOREVER SO WILL ROCK N ROLL!!!!!!!!!!
After having listened to thousands of rock/metal songs by probably hundreds of bands the opening one is still one of the best riffs, if not the best, I can think of.
Luv the guitar with the chain saw strings @ 1.06 - You guys are right, these were the years...I can't believe I lived through 'em!!! YA - ROCKIN' WITH DOKKEN !!!
I may be a 90's kid (92), but I love my 80's metal. Dio (R.I.P), Megadeth, Dokken. Can't live without these amazing bands' music in my life and on my guitar. \m/ \m/
This was in 1981 guy's. Whitesnake had a similar case with "Here I go again", with the original being released on their 1982 album and then redoing it 5 years later.
This is the true music, the music that inspires and helps the listener to leave the negative things behind. I wish i was born earlier, when the music was real! Not autotuned , with meaningful lyrics and real instruments not MIDI! 50's -> 80's The Golden Age of True Music
Even Don Dokken said he didn't like the video, he said it sucked, but this is how I put it. It is filled with so many 80s metal-music video cliches that its level of rock is just amazing.
Dude Don Dokken is the fucking shit!!..I was just lookin for a song to rock out to and I got more than I had a right to ask for with this song..Slammin riff, heart, and soul!!
I can never get enough of how bad this video is. I laugh and laugh and laugh... especially when they break those darn chains! I did LOVE Dokken though. Good stuff!
LONG LIVE '80s hair bands and 80's metal!!! And they thought we were the end all to society, todays kids are doing far worse things than I have done as an adult!
@ridethelightning6669 It's coming back because a lot of the bands that kicked ass in the 80's are realeasing new good albums that are actually getting some decent radio play, and movies are starting to have a lot of metal music in them from the 80's.
@Carrjam94 The original Germany release was in '81, and was re-released in America in '83. 1984 wouldn't make sense though as that's the year "Tooth and Nail" came out.
Pete Baltes from the German metal band "Accept" played bass on the Breaking the Chains Album. But Juan Croucier of Ratt was credited for it. Interesting enough, Warren DeMartini was filling in on guitar in the early days til he left to join Ratt. When he left, Juan went with him. Thats when they got Jeff. Jeff was the best thing for Dokken. He was the guy who kept this band together and was a principle contributor to the material. Notice how it got lots better after this album?
this and music like this like rock from from 60s 70s 80s and all the other eras with rock is real music played with guitars drums bass and sometimes a little effects is real music
great ring tone got it its my ring tone for my wife if you understand the song you will have to get it now everyone needs to get this song rock on don from tony in Houston tx 2DOKKEN
@ebud1980 well they first released this album in 1981 and then 1983 it was released again with some different versions of the songs, so VH1 is probably thinking of the second release
I don't know if this has been posted or not, but I was told several years back that Jeff Pilson pretty much had to pretend to play this song. He was added to the line up just days before this video was filmed and didn't know the material off the cuff.
On Friday February 11th , The People of Egypt broke the chains of Tyranny and no one esle now can bind them , We thank everybody who supported us , And Always Rokken Dokken :-) (An Egyptian)
80's will live on Forever no matter what! Best era there ever way and by far ever will be. I may have born in '92 but i know what good music is and know what isn't and the 80's is damn good music! 80's Rock and Heavy Metal all day everyday any where any time!

This was in 1981 guy's. Whitesnake had a similar case with "Here I go again", with the original being released on their 1982 album and then redoing it 5 years later.
I love the cheesy guitar solo sections that all the videos in the 80s had. They are so entertaining to watch.
This is the true music, the music that inspires and helps the listener to leave the negative things behind. I wish i was born earlier, when the music was real! Not autotuned , with meaningful lyrics and real instruments not MIDI! 50's -> 80's The Golden Age of True Music

The only thing that keeps me sane is knowing that now on the classic radio stations it's this music they are starting to play.
@Carrjam94 The original Germany release was in '81, and was re-released in America in '83. 1984 wouldn't make sense though as that's the year "Tooth and Nail" came out.
