Welcome to another episode of "Vicky has no idea what she's doing!" lol. No but in all seriousness, like I said in the video, I am of course not a sewing expert and I know there are a few extra things I could have done (thought about it and was like, nah 🙈). I was trying to keep this as easy and simple as possible considering my level and to avoid giving up half way through. Also, I was on a real tight budget, plus most stores are currently closed. Thank you as always for being so kind 😊💖
90s fashion is my jam, but I'm a little more Phoebe from Friends 90s. 😂 Ugh, I miss The Nanny so much. My ma idolized Grandma Yetta and hopes to be that feisty in her old age.
The glamorous reveal was well done. 🍄🍄 Under edge stitching on the collar and cuffs will help keep them from rolling inward/outward. Before buying a ironing ham, I would use rolled up (tucked into a ball) clean, cotton white sport socks. The kind {tube socks}) that basketball players wore in the 90s... Lol This works great in ironing curvy seams, like sleeve tops and collars. Take care and be safe 😷
Fantastic! You look perfect in it! I was a young mom in the 90s....youngest was born in 91, she's 28 now!! Anywho I dressed very much like the nanny! The 80s and early 90s had a lot of nods to the 40s and 50s....so really enjoyed this flashback😘
Congrats on 5000 subscribers! Woo hoo 🎉🎈!!! I must say, you say you're a novice but you clearly have a gift. To me, executing this without a pattern is way beyond novice level. You may not have all the technical language but you have the intuitive understanding and that can't be learned- you either have it or you don't. Anywho, it came out great and you look great in it and you and the hubby are absolutely adorable! So glad to see all your amazing projects during these uncertain times. It really adds joy to my week 💕
Oh my God I love the nanny soooo much!!!Love the dress!!! You nailed it!!! Oh hey the new Penny Dreadful series City of Angels has Pachuco culture all in it!!! I watched it and thought of your video!!!!
I have the MOST talented friend ever! ❤️ You nail every outfit and you definitely are like Fran... Maybe that's why we get along! She definitely resembles I love Lucy sooooo hello! Hahaha you keep rocking those amazing outfits you make. I don't think you give yourself enough credit cuz you are SUPER TALENTED and how awesome to even get the best an honorable acknowledgement from the person who made her costumes! Watch out world... VICTORIA IS OUT TO RUN THIS WORLD! ❤️
omg yes, I can see you loving her too! She was such an icon and the show so funny haha! YOU ARE THE BEST, thank you for being so encouraging and for all the love 😭❤️💕
Glad you refrained from butchering the accent. Half the time folks sound like they're smacking on a spoonful of peanut butter😒. Love the dress on you ❤
Great job! Some feedback: I think you meant to say that you added hem allowance at the bottom of your dress. Hems are different than seams. I made the same terminology error when learning too. You may want to look into darts. They help with shaping garments around you and take out bulk where you don’t want it. Darts for woven fabric is a must not so much for stretchy knits. And facings for collars. That’s what you are missing. I know it’s a lot. But you got this. 👍
Thank you! :) haha, yes I meant hems! And yeah, I thought about doing darts but didn't feel like it 😂I might add them later. Thank you for the tips dear ☺️❤️
