always hard to present such sad new, really well done GCN. not over the top but really highlighted how much of a character and a threat he was in the peloton. Rest In Peace
Thanks, GCN, for your tribute to Michele, especially the images of him horsing around with his kids and being on a training ride with the parrot. And I looked up the Daily Mail photo of Frankje perched above the roadside memorial--thank you for telling us about that. And I enjoyed your hosting your show from the Assos Store, but how about a tour of it while you're there? And of the displays, too, like the one in the background, something about GCN, I think, whatever that is. And on the use of the left dropout to hang a disc caliper, I like it, the concept certainly. Perhaps a proper bracket could be made for that purpose. And thanks for the GMBN reports from Sea Otter, all that tech is cool and it is fun to see the gathering of the tribe in California. And for many of us, there is no road v. mountain drama. It is all bikes and it is all a blast, whether on the road or off the road or just talking about all of it between trips down the fire road. Or over the jump. Not sure I can clear five tires on my Sting-Ray, but I'll try.
I just wanted to talk a little bit about how much I love gcn. It was about two years ago when I was considering to by a road bike for a 50 mile bike ride I was doing. I was looking on youtube for tutorials on how to do a 50 mile bike ride. I ran into GCN's video on how to do a 50 mile bike ride and I loved it. I immediately subscribed and started watching these wonderful videos it brought me a whole lot of laughs and gave me something to look forward to on the web. But the reason I love it most is it introduced me to my favorite hobbie that has truly changed my life. You guys are the best and keep up the good work!
You know, I'm no Sherlock Holmes, and correct me if I'm wrong, but I think I have a small suspicion that gcn might possibly have secured a sponsorship deal from assos🤔
that intro was bloody awesome! love your work boys as always. so excited for this hour record coming up... I will be down here in Sydney cheering you fellas on.
theres a Wonderfull photo where scarponi appears to be singing in the middle of the peloton in the giro (i think) and all the other riders around laughing and smiling. its lovely to see sep vanmarcke refer to, and confirm that in his tweet, as it really showed what a lovely man he appeared to be. i believe he will be sorely missed by all. #RIPMichele
I'm 17 and I got third in my A4 race this weekend as a Junior rider. it is my best placing so far and I gave the air a punch as I crosses the line. no regrets I was very happy
Yeps - poor do :( Epic route this year - stage 3 is going to be amazing! Poor cyclists with that ring at the end! Can't wait. I'm not sure what GCN have against the TdY.
13:09 The almost imperceptible look of annoyance on Daniel "Cervello Test Team" Lloyd's face when he realised there were no more words or information coming from Matt was gold.
Sad news this week for cycling. I am deeply sadden about what has happen You guys have forgot to mention the tour de Yorkshire again! It's now a massive contender in the series seeing British teams and international teams competing. Will you be in Scarborough tomorrow?
Wow. Easily one of the best GCN shows ever. The Simon, Dan rivalry is hilarious. But on a more serious note. Whats a chain keeper? Is it just like. Your Cassette?
another great video GCN 👍. from your experience would you say a kmc x10 93 chain is stronger and longer lasting than a shimano HG-X chain? and by much difference? many thanks
Second place celebration, I'm all about it. It shows that someone lost to you but is proud that they were the best of the rest besides you, it's like a compliment really. Raising your bike over your head? Bro just ride across the line like a normal bike rider...
15:50 Dan is right, Rule #95 says: Never lift your bike over your head. Under no circumstances is it acceptable to raise one’s machine above your head. The only exception is when placing it onto a car’s roof-rack.
In fact it says right in the video description, "We have the usual collection of amazing content including Mavic Comete Unboxing competition winner..." But yeah, it did not appear to make the cut.
Coming from a country where fluency in the local language is often not quite as important as skin colour when it comes to whether or not you get a reply in English, you have my sympathy, Si.
She won 2nd place and was excited about it, let her express her excitement. No one is "entitled" to a photo of themselves, arms raised, as they edge out the competition. That is a happy side benefit of winning.
I think if you look to Copenhagen they have a "green light" susyem on the cycle paths in the city that tells you what speed to do "20km/h" to keep up with the traffic-lights. So is Utrecht second?
Team mates celebrating is very cool. With extra points to those lead out men who celebrate their sprinters victory while the man they just delivered is still head down trying to seal the deal and ensure the premature celebrations don't leave them looking foolish. Banging of handle bars is however highly undignified.
Good call cutting the sound to the title for the segment following the tribute. It was a bit jarring in the past. What's more jarring is I can remember the last time the GCN show had a tribute to a loss in the cycling world. Too many deaths in this sport lately :'(
Guys, I watched the full ep, as I always do but I didn't find the Mavic winner.. or the competition time. Am I with some attention problem? Or have you really forgot it?
Celebrations: Are you happy and you know it? Clap your hands. Are you not afraid to show it? Clap your hands. I like to think the people I watch aren't robots (doping allegations aside). Let them show genuine emotion, and jot in their victories, even if their victories are personal rather than podium victories. This includes being happy for a teammate. That said, directing your frustrations toward someone else at the finish line, whether warranted or not, will always make you look petty and small. So it is advisable to not do that.
Caption "Paisa, I say: I look like Cyclops, no, I like Cyclocross" NOTE: A Paisa is someone from a region in the northwest of Colombia, including the part of the Andes in Colombia.
During Wattage Bazooka, Dan mentioned the list of climbs as if it was a standard/known thing, and I'm thinking, "If there is a canon of cycling climbs, I want to know too." Please share. Thanks!
Nooooooooo! Replacing Lizzie with THAT at 10.01 (without warning). No, No, No. Please bring back Lizzie and provide proper warnings for 'seeing the turtle' as you mention.
Let us know if you can beat Matt's caption, also, who should ride on the front of the GCN Triplet?
Caption: For 100th time, don't think, just keep pushing!
caption: look i told ypu it says poc
Read my cap, I'm a COP!
Caption: "I am one with the finger and the finger is one with me.."
Caption competition: oh, my glasses say POC not Poke
always hard to present such sad new, really well done GCN. not over the top but really highlighted how much of a character and a threat he was in the peloton. Rest In Peace
thanks Alex.
a nice touch to drop the music for a while afterwards too- really respectful, and most sincere.
Ciao Michele 😢 Keep pedalling wherever you are x
Milliewhat wow.... that is the best comment I have ever seen.
RIP Michele
RIP Michele

A couple GCN shows now without Lizzie Deignan announcing cycling shorts. Did she ask to be removed from the show?
If you have enough time on the bunch to stop, get off your bike, raise it above your head and walk over the line...
It's DEFINITELY acceptable.
Rip Michele Scarponi
Poignant tribute to Michele Scarponi, very well done. Always difficult. Ciao Michele. RIP.
Brilliant episode , guys. Btw, seriously; you guys are putting a LOT of time into these vids!! Its much appreciated!!

What a touching start to the show. Very sad news.
You know, I'm no Sherlock Holmes, and correct me if I'm wrong, but I think I have a small suspicion that gcn might possibly have secured a sponsorship deal from assos🤔
Oscar Laight you know, me too...I had a feeling something was up when the 2017 kit was from assos!
Well, they do manufacture the new GCN kit, so I'd say that deal happened some time ago!
that intro was bloody awesome! love your work boys as always. so excited for this hour record coming up... I will be down here in Sydney cheering you fellas on.

Bittersweet week in cycling.
Greetings from Croatia.
R.I.P. Mr. Scarponi
Michele Scarponi isn't gone, he's just climbing higher and higher. RIP Buddy
Hi all
the winner of the Mavic shoes will be announced in next weeks show, sorry for the delay.
thanks
GCN
Rip 😔
Tasteful tribute to Michele Scarponi. Always a great show. \keep up the fantastic work.
Well deserved Wattage Bazooka. I go up Curbar Edge pretty regularly and it's hard. Getting up there after a _month_ is good going.
GCN, you should have made the pizza cutters using a disc brake.
Peter Lake Good thinking but discs aren't sharp enough to cut anything of substance 😉
Simon Richardson. A pizza of no substance then?
I'm 17 and I got third in my A4 race this weekend as a Junior rider. it is my best placing so far and I gave the air a punch as I crosses the line. no regrets I was very happy
Great content as always, but why no reference to the Tour of Yorkshire?
Yeps - poor do :( Epic route this year - stage 3 is going to be amazing! Poor cyclists with that ring at the end! Can't wait. I'm not sure what GCN have against the TdY.

*You talkino me* 10/10 best caption ever, well done matt
Very nice tribute guys, such a terrible loss.
love this channel, worst puns going but so honest and respectful #RIPMichele
G8 work guys..keep up the best cycling vids on social media...great work!!!!
a very sad few months in cycling, RIP Michele
Nice tribute guys. Respectfully done.
That chainkeeper is a production model, I own one just like this for the past year and a half. Not a hack or a bodge, just an off-the-shelf item.
Sad news this week for cycling. I am deeply sadden about what has happen
You guys have forgot to mention the tour de Yorkshire again! It's now a massive contender in the series seeing British teams and international teams competing. Will you be in Scarborough tomorrow?
How about a chainkeeper special?
great idea! Simon will be forced/asked to present it.
Be careful though. That might sprain his liver (kidney).
That Snot Rocket hit me right here!!
"Chain Keeper of the week" is a keeper!
As my coach always said (in regards to celebrating) "act like you've been there before"
Sad news about Michele Scarponi. To his family and friends my deepest sympathy.
caption: you see guys, the peak has to go up, i'm telling you
Wow. Easily one of the best GCN shows ever. The Simon, Dan rivalry is hilarious. But on a more serious note. Whats a chain keeper? Is it just like. Your Cassette?
RIP scarponi. He always worked so hard for Astana for many years and so sad to this.😔
Grande! Il pappagallo! perfetto scelta. RIP Michele. spero che la famiglia stanno bene e forte. :(
Beautiful tribute ××
Nicely done! And I hope dan bought those shorts 🤣
Great video guys!!
I wish you guys would do a viewer bike of the week. everyone is interested in cool kit!!
May he rest in peace😢
another great video GCN 👍. from your experience would you say a kmc x10 93 chain is stronger and longer lasting than a shimano HG-X chain? and by much difference? many thanks
What ever happened to the bike frame you built? Really want to see it all painted and out on the open road!
Regarding finish line etiquette, drawing a comparison with Motorbike racing it is normal for 2nd place to celebrate, but the winner wheelies!
Second place celebration, I'm all about it. It shows that someone lost to you but is proud that they were the best of the rest besides you, it's like a compliment really. Raising your bike over your head? Bro just ride across the line like a normal bike rider...
At 1:10 I thought you stumbled in to the Star Trek Store. Kirk and a random "Red Shirt" front and center.
More chain keepers! I love them.
15:50 Dan is right, Rule #95 says: Never lift your bike over your head.
Under no circumstances is it acceptable to raise one’s machine above your head. The only exception is when placing it onto a car’s roof-rack.
HackoboProducciones what if you are really angry and want to hulk smash it like Marcel kittel?
Yeah have the velominati wankers ever won a real race
You all said last week you were going to announce the winner of the Mavic Comete shoes on today's show. What happened?
Yeah, I came to ask the same thing
In fact it says right in the video description, "We have the usual collection of amazing content including Mavic Comete Unboxing competition winner..."
But yeah, it did not appear to make the cut.
@gcn @globalcyclingnetwork
have i missed the winner of the trek disc bike and the aero bars?
i have looked for it but cant find it. i am the stupid blind one here?
Nobody knows! Its a trap!
caption: GCN' is believin'!
Matt should ride in front and Caption: "When you have to motivate Yourself before a race."
Caption: "I didn't run into u... U RAN into me!"
great show as ever guys 🖒
condolences.
Caption: "Did I ever tell you the secret to not crashing in the peloton? Unagi..."
Hey gcn u should do more videos and events in the assos store It's my favourite cycling store nearby
where is the video of the rutland Melton Classic? i can' t find It anywhere!
Tridem ride position: Measure your shoulder widths - From the positions adopted in this show it looks like Si then Matt then Dan.
Coming from a country where fluency in the local language is often not quite as important as skin colour when it comes to whether or not you get a reply in English, you have my sympathy, Si.
Ok, I understand Si's beef with the chain keepers of the week but...c'mon! That thru-axle keeper was pretty revolutionary.
10:28 they need that where I live as these traffic lights are REALLY stupid when it comes to how they are timed and what makes them change.
One for the caption competition:
"See this? It's supposed to point up!"
She won 2nd place and was excited about it, let her express her excitement. No one is "entitled" to a photo of themselves, arms raised, as they edge out the competition. That is a happy side benefit of winning.
when are you releasing a GCN branded chain keeper?
I think if you look to Copenhagen they have a "green light" susyem on the cycle paths in the city that tells you what speed to do "20km/h" to keep up with the traffic-lights. So is Utrecht second?
The RKT9RDO?? Sounds like a Star Wars Robot!
can you make a video- GMBN goes cycling with GCN ?
I must say the flows a lot better when Matt,s on it 😀
Team mates celebrating is very cool. With extra points to those lead out men who celebrate their sprinters victory while the man they just delivered is still head down trying to seal the deal and ensure the premature celebrations don't leave them looking foolish.
Banging of handle bars is however highly undignified.
When is Matt doing his presenters bike on his canyon aeroad disc? :)
when will the mavic shoes winner be announced
We lost another warrior due to drivers incompetence - may he rest in peace. Ride bikes-save lives.
Riders in london will be unfamiliar with the frustration you described regarding waiting at red lights.
Caption: Rigoberto Zoolander's "Green Steel" pose was so lethal he had to wear shades
Good call cutting the sound to the title for the segment following the tribute. It was a bit jarring in the past. What's more jarring is I can remember the last time the GCN show had a tribute to a loss in the cycling world. Too many deaths in this sport lately :'(
Another caption entry: "Uran? You were meant to cycle!"
Guys, I watched the full ep, as I always do but I didn't find the Mavic winner.. or the competition time. Am I with some attention problem? Or have you really forgot it?

The real question of who to put up front of the Triplet is not "Who is the biggest?", but "Who is not Matt?".
R.I.P Michele
The fly hit me right here, I swear he was trying to steal my glasses
caption contest : " I've got the winning mindset right here"
Caption: "Look at me, I am the Captain now"
U ran? NO, I STARE

What's missing is live coverage of the womens events.
Twat
In my opinion each rider should be free to celebrate everything he wants and the way he wants.
During Wattage Bazooka, Dan mentioned the list of climbs as if it was a standard/known thing, and I'm thinking, "If there is a canon of cycling climbs, I want to know too." Please share. Thanks!
RIP Michele Scarponi, he will be missed.
Fitting tribute to Michele Scarponi. Caption-Came second again, d'oh wrong finger
Cancellara crossing the line with that swiss flag was epic
I am one with the force and the force is with me. Caption contest
Nooooooooo! Replacing Lizzie with THAT at 10.01 (without warning). No, No, No. Please bring back Lizzie and provide proper warnings for 'seeing the turtle' as you mention.
Why did you guys take Lizzie off the Cycling Shorts bit?
