I'm a novice spearo so thanks for the advice on the Octacle lubricant, just ordered some. I've always disliked using bodywash, even when it was an eco one, this looks so much better. Your videos are a joy to watch, thank you.
Shark Snot is a US based wetsuit lube that's seaweed based for all the NA divers out there. It's nice knowing I'm not adding any chemicals in the beautiful waters I spearfish. Awesome videos man!!
I live and fish in Florida and that Almaco is the only fish I've recognized on any of your videos that we catch here. We chuck em back they are usually full of worms, the average size is around 10-15 pounds. Pretty cool to know they exist on the other side of the world. Keep up the awesome content🤙
Cheers mate! Yeah they are very rare here, only the odd one showing up in the late summer/early autumn months in the far north of NZ. I've eaten Jacks in other parts of world no issues with worms, seems to just be a few different places that have the worms!
That scorpion fish looks kinda similar to our stonefish, and that lobster...well like you said is similar to a moreton bay bug. Even the amberjack or albajack...whatever you called it, is similar. I was thinking watch out for the tape worms but maybe the cooler waters of nz keep the fish cleaner from parasites. Awesome vid again Ollie!
just been to the queen charlotte sounds and wasn't much around underwater only got one legal blue cod but fished up a few gunard good to see there are fish out somewhere in new zealand
Some of them. Tend to be at the very top and south of country in the highest numbers. I’ve yet to encounter one that I know of. Guys up north bump into them quite regularly
@@samuelbacon7769 The first time i went for a fish there i thought i was fishing in a marine reserve only a matter of time before spoilt in my opinion ,think some of it is worthy of protection
I've always enjoyed your vids but when you're giving away fish then going out the next day and killing long lived fish like scorps you lost my support. Its the quality of your vids and the underwater seascapes that are great, not the killing.
Cheers for the comment but I’m unsure where you have your information about Scorpian fish from? From my own research they only live 15-20 years at best and are in very healthy numbers. I wouldn’t consider that a long lived fish considering NZ’s favourite fish to eat -Snapper, live up to 60 odd years..
Shop Merch: www.primalpursuit.co.nz/ Thank You for your generous suppport!
You live a dream life. Thank you for being real about what you do. Love seeing you grab a crawfish of three.

Those scarlet parrotfish are so cool when diving with, especially when big ones come up close.
Yep I love them! Friendly little fish!

Stone fish are great to eat, throw it on the grill and have your sauce ready🔥🔥🤙🏾
which ones are the Stone fish? Rock Cod?
I’m learning to dive
Good stuff
Great video! Would you be able to give us a run down of your IRB and what kit you carry on it for a trip please
Yep I’ve had a few requests I’ll make up a video eventually
Perfect 👌
Cheers 🍻
do you get great whites around the areas you dive.
Some of them. Tend to be at the very top and south of country in the highest numbers. I’ve yet to encounter one that I know of. Guys up north bump into them quite regularly
Can you boil the carcass of the scorpion fish, for stock? Or the poison gunna do ya?
Not sure, bugger all meat left on after filleting I’ve never tried it/taken risk. Perhaps if you cut off all the poisonous spikes it would be ok
We call them Spanish lobster
Yep that’s the other name for them!
Mantap, bro!
🤙
I've been looking at inflatable boats like yours. What HP is that Merc? It seems like you have plenty of go with that motor.
It’s a 30hp mate goes hard
Mean bro, I have stop using shampoo and dish washing now 😂😂 definitely test out that lubricant octade for sure 👌🏽 mean work bro meke as !

Love them raw as sashimi. Will def have to try some smoked now! Cheers!
What was the best eating out of those fish Ollie?
The Scorpian Fish was Beautiful and quite different flavour so Ill give it the win
You running double 14mm bands?
Yep always use 14mm rubber
Wat app do u use for diving wen finding reef
Navionics and google maps
Why I'm so greedy 😒 I would definitely be eating that second scorpion fish
Probably would have if I already didn’t have so much fish from day before!

Are you sponsored by seabuck
That is the ugliest lobster I've ever seen lol never seen one like that. Thanks for sharing!
Ugly but tasty!
ознакомился с Вашей страной значит все таки есть на Земле Рай!
yoo you should sell your own natural lube (lmfao no im serious)
should be some marine reserve parts around those islands really to nice to destroy
What're you trying to say here?
Maybe, not sure about too many reserves though, puts more pressure on areas close by
@@samuelbacon7769 The first time i went for a fish there i thought i was fishing in a marine reserve only a matter of time before spoilt in my opinion ,think some of it is worthy of protection
It's so great to watch your videos while I wait in lockdown as I wait for Covid to exist. Stay safe thank You,👨🦱🚑🧭 red Cross
Good to hear I’m keeping you busy with the videos. All the best, Ollie

@@olliecraig-primalpursuit fair enough. I actually thought they lived much longer.
Hey mate, as always another cracker vid. Im guttered we don't get the scorpion fish further down south. Seems like they be good for broth/stock too

Awesome vid again mate👌🏽
Thanks mate 👍
