Of course I enjoyed your video. I also feel like your paintings from life have more depth and drama than when you paint from pictures in books. Good stuff!
Im a Canadian artist retired down in tropical Panama central America. Im glad I found your channel for awesome inspiration. I like relaxing with longer art videos…your channel is perfect. Thanks
I love your work and have shared it with so many of my friends. I’ve never seen a piece you’ve done that didn’t make me smile, they are all so special. Thank you for sharing your amazing talent with all of us ❤️❤️❤️
Hi Clair, I came across your channel and I am binge watching now. I absolutely love your art and your process and your visual language. Thank you for all these free videos. It's a huge inspiration. 🥰🎨
It was reassuring to hear you talk about it being ok not to stick to the same subject as a beginner artist i'm constantly switching subject, media etc ... great vlog as always x
The brown on your figgy is sun damage. They thrive in bright light but indirect bright light. Hope that helps. I have several in my home and my first one I named Katie Bush. She is one of my favorite to sketch, paint, etc!
For those maybe reading my comment....I paint for my interests...I feel that's what being an "artist" means for me...where my life as a human leads me to paint if you will.
You make it all look so easy Clair......... i absolutely adore watching you paint ! it just inspires me so much and gets me motivated to pick up a paint brush. Please keep doing what you do here on youtube as i just love love love it. I have started to watch you on skills share too... AMAZING xxxx
Have you had trouble with the oil soaking out of the pastel marks into the surrounding paper? I recently went back through my older stored artwork and I found most of my oil pastel pieces had blotchy oil stains leached across the paper. I also had some drawing made in blue bic pen were the ink had some how separated and bled into a bleary mess. They were all done on different styles of paper so it wasn't the paper, and my other works stored in the same place were fine
Hmmm, interesting 🤔. I haven’t really noticed it before to be honest. I’ll have to go through some older work and check. I do know that oil pastel never really dries or cures so to speak so I do expect them to still be a little smudgy and oily.
Definitely enjoyed it. Thank you. Came timely because my A3 Moleskine arrived today. I watched your haul when you got it. Saw if for $31 here in syd so I jumped on it woo! Not sure how I'll use it as yet. But thank you for the inspiration. I love your vlogs
Interesting...I don't think I've ever painted in a sketch book! I understand what you're saying about 'don't care' painting.. I think it's a great idea.....for me I want/need to loosen and and not be so precious....I definitely need a bigger sketch book now....thanks for your videos!
Not rambley at all, I enjoyed listening to you all through the video! Just found you, so will subscribe for sure now. ❤ Cheers from Sweden and another youtuber! 💚💙💛💜🧡💖❤
I discovered your channel just a few months ago and I absolutely love your style! The vibrant colors are very beautiful and I love watching you work. Your videos are so relaxing, I watch them while I paint (I just started). Often though I get distracted by your amazing work and watch the video then :) In this video I absolutely fell in love with the painting you do from 12:21 till 18:30 - is that still available? I would love to buy that. I just recently bought another still life from you and it would go along perfectly with this one.
@@ClairBremnerArt Oh that's unfortunate. So I will wait until there's another one of your paintings available on your site that fits the one I just bought. Thank you for answering :) Are you planning on doing an exhibition in Germany at any time in the future maybe by any chance?
I really enjoyed this Clair. Can you tell me what you used to draw the daisies in your sketchbook. The ones in a pitcher. Did you use pastel or watercolor pencil? Also, I have searched Pinterest, Unsplash, Pixaby, etc and can't seem to find any look still life pics. Any other suggestion. I'd make my own, but I don't have any flowers, sad to say. Thanks in advance!
Lovely Clair!! 2 questions : (1) what UA-cam channels have you been watching in lockdown? (2) what’s the inks you use? I’m hoping to buy some but just want to start out with 3-4 colours - any recommendations?
Hi Em, I have been watching Sandi Hester, Natasha Newton, Jimena Reno, Audra Auclair…. Just to name a few 😂 The ink I use is by Daler Rowney, they are Acrylic ink and you can get lots of different colours but I’d recommend just starting with some primary colours - blue, red and yellow
Beautiful paintings!!!

Claire do you finish off with a sealer on your art pieces to protect them?
Hi Clair. Love yor work in the moleskin😍I was wondering what you prime the pages with to take the acrylic that good?
I do give them a coat of gesso before I paint with acrylic to help seal the paper a little bit.
Have I seen your work at the national or nsw gallery .very good
No, I don’t have any work there (as far as I know 🤔😂)
