    First of all. You’re using most of the products wrong. The gold lust line is for repair and damage, like blondes and people that have heat damage. Your hair is healthy it doesn’t need it. The gold lust oil pumps into your hand. The Balm D’or is also from the gold lust line as well it’s going to be too heavy for your hair because it’s for damaged dry hair and wiry greys. Apres beach spray is lighter than the dry texturizing spray and can be used with wet hair for the tousled beachy look. The dry shampoo, you need to part your hair and spray it in, brush it threw and repeat if necessary. The dry texture is part of the signature like which is why you enjoy it so much. The the dry shampoo is from the gold lust line. The dry conditioner is for people that don’t wash that often and have super curly or textured hair also noticed you didn’t shake the can before you used it, there’s a ball in it for a reason. The super shine also comes in a light version you might like it a little better.
    Oribe color codes their line. Black is Signature line, meant for all hair. Green is moisture for curly or super dry texture hair. Red is for color treated hair. Black and White is for repair and damaged hair. Brown is for volume. Purple/Blue is for shine and moisture. They have a grey bottle of shampoo which is a lighter version of signature for kids. Their skin care line is AMAZING. most of the products are clinically tested and proven to work. Meant for aging skin to provide more radiance and smooth fine lines and wrinkles. The perfumes are excellent, they last a long time and are light so you don’t overwhelm everyone.

      Hi Lauren, thanks for all of the info - so helpful! It all makes sense - I definitely prefer the Signature line the most and also like the color line (shampoo, conditioner, and masque). I recently picked up the light version of the Supershine creme, but haven't decided yet which I prefer (I really like the original one, but the light version seems great, too). I'll try the beach spray in damp hair and see if I like it better with that. I heard that putting some of the gold lust oil into the masque is really luxurious, need to try that still (and yes, I figured out that pump for the oil after someone else commented on it...oops). Also, as you seem to be very educated in the Oribe lines, how do you find their products for blonde hair? I've recently started lightening my hair and have an ombre effect going on, so have been using a violet shampoo/conditioner from Amika to keep the brassiness away, but also saw that Oribe had products for blondes (but read mixed reviews on them) - any thoughts? Thank you!

    I'm a stylist at an oribe salon, use a pump or so of your gold lust oil in your mask. Thank me later!😂I think you would LOVE the two new products they came out with in June. Straight away smoothing balm, 450 deg heat protection. It's from the moisture (green) line. and the featherbalm styling cream. Light memory and hold, detangles, and adds shine. It's from the shine(blue) line.

    The gold lust shampoo/conditioner has worked amazing wonders on my hair. I have fine hair but a lot of it, it tends to get frizzy and tangled easily. My hair felt so soft and smooth after I used gold lust. It’s my favorite shampoo and conditioner combo that is out there.

      For me, the absolute best products out of all the Oribe products are the texturizing spray and the Supershine creme (in either the regular or light version). Such fabulous products! They are pricey, sure, but the cream especially last a crazy long time (I usually only go through one tube per year).

    The Split end repair is my HOLY GRAIL!!! (As well as the supershine). I do use the shower get, scrub and lotion. It’s just so pricey. And it’s easy to fly through. Also if you add 2-3 pumps of the oil to one of your masks- INCREDIBLE. the new gold list repair drops have changed my hair. And the foundation most is awesome too- the smell is the best part. Not to mention they speak for themselves. Try the split end repair!!!!

    I'm a stylist, use Orbie all day. Ur not using really most of those products right . . Onyx line is great for you and ur husband! it's for everyone. Most of those products are too rich for you hair. Try, dry texture, maxineista , volumista , grandiose,. Foundation mist always applied first. And gold lust dry shampoo is ammmmmmazing. Spray section by section into oily hair. Work it into the hair, like ur shampooing. Fluffs oil hair right up

    I agree with you. Dry shampoo is a dry shampoo. Texturizing spray and the Supershine creme is Godley. I think the cream is amazing since you can use so little and get awesome results. However I really love the apres wave spray--BC to me, it gives volume close to the texurizing spray, but the shine and beach waves. I adore it. Sometimes I use the texturizing spray on my roots and the Apres wave spray for anything 4" out. Love the curl gloss. Love the beach mouse--it is a little sticky but it great to get a particular look--the product is perfect for "what it does" but its not versatile like the texturizing sray. Love the matte waves--also great with the texturizing spray. I like, but don't love the curl gloss, but I keep it in stock. VERY disapointed with the comb out detangler-honestly, a few good drugstore is probably better and almost all of the professional lines are better--did NOT detangle. Have to use a ton. Only product for Orbie that is total garabage. Even if it does work, its not worth the price. Hell the Shine cream would detangle better. I just got hte Spray volumizing spray, will be intersting to see how that goes. NOTE TO ALL--I pay full retail for Orbie like anyone else unless I use birchbox points or other sale. AND I get professional lines for wholesale (50% off) so YA, Orbie is really worth the price, even when I can get Redken, Pureology, Biolage, etc. at around $9 per product. Orbie retail is still worth it. IT really IS that good on many items. Just avoid the pitfall products that are not worth the price/

I'll have to try the beach spray the way you mentioned. Just found this, and I gotta say, once you added the apres beach wave spray, bam! I have both, and I found I'm a texture girl. If you like soft looking curls, you go for the dry, if you like separation, and true texture, and shine, it is apres beach waves, all the way. So for me, apres wins hands down. Okay, am I ABSOLUTELY insane because I’ve heard that the texturizing spray is “astonishing”, and I got it recently from Nordstrom and let me tell you that the scent is AWFULLLLL!!! It smells like strong chemicals and it gives me a headache after a while. I’m not sure if I got a defective one or it was somehow expired, but I’m returning it and contemplating whether I should give it another try for the official website instead...

    • @crazykenz4203
      @crazykenz4203  4 роки тому

      I would suggest taking it back and seeing if they have a bottle in-store that you can test. It has a strong smell and you could be very sensitive to it. I actually had to stop wearing perfume because I kept having sneezing attacks from it (didn't matter what kind I wore, just would start sneezing like mad and felt terrible). There are so many fragrances in everything these days and people are really becoming very sensitive to it. I'm generally ok with the scent in the texturizing spray, but I have to be careful to no overdo it!

    Great vid. I also LOVE that syling creme!! It came as a sample, and has rocked my hair world. Question: I've never understood what a texturizing spray does? How is it diff from a dry shampoo? Thx

    • @crazykenz4203
      @crazykenz4203  7 років тому +3

      The styling cream rocks! So glad you love it, too! So, to me a dry shampoo makes my hair seem dryer (as dumb as it sounds) and deals with greasy hair better than a texturizer, but a texturizer is amazing to give some volume and oompf and texture on clean hair. I don't like to use dry shampoo on clean hair because it makes it a bit too powdery and dry feeling (and depending on the dry shampoo, sometimes it leaves white, powdery residue). I also use the texturizer on dirty hair if I don't have a dry shampoo (and frankly I'd rather just use the texturizing spray on clean and dirty hair and just not have a dry shampoo - I can do more with a texturizing spray than a dry shampoo). Plus I like to spray texturizing spray into my ends to give them some funky texture - I wouldn't do that with a dry shampoo. So dry shampoo = dirty hair and in the roots, but texturizing spray = clean or dirty hair, roots and ends, wherever I want some fun texture. Try the Oribe - I think you will LOVE it!

    Love this! Thank you! I’ve just gotten into Oribe and I’m obsessed! I love the signature collection but it was sold out and so I had to buy the gold lust collection which I agree, isn’t as amazing as the signature. My hair still feels like silk though 😂 Do you think the shine cream might be too heavy for fine blonde hair that tends to get oily? The texture spray sounds amazing!

    • @crazykenz4203
      @crazykenz4203  6 років тому

      I would say if you have fine blonde hair (and found that the Gold Lust was too heavy), I'd go for the lightweight supershine moisturizing creme. I love both versions, but do find that the original makes my hair seem slightly greasier than the lightweight version (this is important to me because I don't like to wash my hair daily!!!). The texture spray IS amazing - I stock up on at least four cans during Black Friday at Neimans.

    I had so many oribe shampoo & conditioner travel sizes (both the 1 use pouch kind and deluxe samples) from all sorts of gift bags that I got so tired of seeing them lol. I feel the same about the signature line out performing the gold lust line, but my general problem with oribe is that none of the shampoos foam up nicely like my favorite Pureology hydration (the purple one) shampoo does, and I'm not a big fan of the oribe scent, it's just not my thing. The signature shampoo does make my hair super soft and silky that's undeniably brilliant, but I could live with out that price tag and stick to the Pureology hydrate line that I have been using for over 4 years now.
    As far as other products, I have a mini surfcomber texture mousse that i bought because a previous hairstylist used on me and my hair had such volume and shine after blowing, but when i actually use it by myself, it is ultra sticky, and i just couldnt get used to the sticky mousse texture myself. I have to wash my hand before touching anything else after using it. I found that the R+Co Park Ave styling cream works similarly but is much less sticker.
    I bought a deluxe sample bag of oribe stuff before at a beauty boutique in nyc, and ithere was a rollerball of the Côte d'Azur Eau de Parfum and a lip balm alongside with some deluxe shampoos and conditioners, and i have to say the perfume surprises me. I like the lychee scent quite a bit, which also comes from me who's picky on 95% of the floral/fruity/sweet perfumes on the market, is rare. However I don't believe it lasted on me more than 2-3 hours.
    The lip balm was meh. It's pretty waxy and doesn't actually provide much moisture to my lips. My holy grail lip balm at the moment is from First Aid Beauty.
    Overall I will say I would never purchase a full size bottle of the shampoos or conditioners, but I will buy travel deluxes just because it's hard to find travel size Pureology products. I will continue to use the dry texturizing spray as my favorite SOS "my hair is a fucking greasy/dirty mess after 4 days of no washing but i have to go out now", it gives out so much volume and hold, but my holy grail dry shampoo is the Klorane the oatmilk one with white cap.

    • @crazykenz4203
      @crazykenz4203  7 років тому

      Thanks so much for all of the info! Glad I'm not the only one who was totally underwhelmed with the gold lust line - I looked up the prices yesterday and it is about $50 more for the gold lust than signature shampoo or conditioner in the liter sizes, yikes! I also feel like hairstylists must have to learn exactly how to use the Oribe products because I've had that same experience of stylists using products and then I buy it and it's a hot mess. I've never tried anything from R+Co, but am very curious about this brand (love their packaging). Good to know about the lip balm, too - I was actually pretty disappointed in Oribe when I saw that they were branching out into skincare and cosmetics - it just seemed a bit greedy to me - like, "Oh we had such success with haircare, let's make the line bigger and make more money!" And the dry texturizing spray, sooooo good. The next time I go to France, I'm going to stock up on the Klorane dry shampoo (I know they sell it on Sephora, but it's way pricier to buy here). Have an excellent weekend!

    • @lilfriedchick
      @lilfriedchick 7 років тому

      oh yeah? i didnt know klorane is much more expensive here cuz i constantly buy them in a pack of two for $30, lots of boutiques in nyc has those packages which to me $15 each isnt horrible.
      I've never seen Oribe's skincare? It could be interesting but right now i'm happy about my skincare regiment and i have a couple things lining up to try, so I wouldn't try Oribe's in the near future, it does sound greedy to me! I can see the price tags for their skincare being vava voom high as well considering they are like the christian louboutin of haircare already.
      Another good deep conditioning hair mask I recommend you trying as well is the Briogeo deep conditioning mask. It smells nice and not overwhelming, and it truly is very nourishing. I believe it's only $36 compared to Oribe it shouldn't be as bad. You can also buy a smaller travel size at Sephora or Birchbox to try first. And for another even cheaper option I love the Carol's Daughter Tui Hair Mask, it's very nourishing and targeted towards colored hair. It's $20 I believe.

    • @crazykenz4203
      @crazykenz4203  7 років тому

      I think the Klorane in France is maybe around 10 euros (so really, if you are getting them for $15, that's really close - I saw them on Sephora for like $20 a pop, I think). OMG Oribe skincare is outrageously pricey - some products are around $100! (And I just saw that they now have fancy hair barrettes and hair sticks for around $80...hmmm...greedy, greedy.)
      Thanks for the recommendations for Briogeo - have never even heard of this brand! And I've heard of Carol's Daughter, but haven't tried any of their products. Will keep an eye out for them, thanks!!!

    How much are the liter bottles during black Friday usually? thinking of purchasing now but not sure if I should try and wait..

    • @crazykenz4203
      @crazykenz4203  4 роки тому

      I would definitely wait, but starting planning now. I usually get my Oribe during the Black Friday sales from Neiman Marcus. For the last four or five years, they have run the same promo: $50 off a purchase of $200. Then I use a cash back software like Rakuten (formerly Ebates) - NM usually has at least 14% cash back (I think it was higher last year). I've always been able to make multiple orders of around $200 to take advantage of these savings (so like if you did one big bottle of shampoo and one styling product, you would probably already be at around $200). So I mean, if you think about it, you could get a $200 order down to $150, then get 14% cash back, so in the end it probably ends up being around $130 (the cash back does take a couple months to process and get back to you, though).
      If you have never tried Oribe, maybe try to find some small bottles to test out, then buy in bulk over the holidays!
      (One thing to take into consideration, though - Neiman Marcus just filed for bankruptcy, so who knows if any of this will be happening this year?!)

    Where do you think its best to order it during Black Friday?

    • @crazykenz4203
      @crazykenz4203  3 роки тому

      The best prices I've ever gotten have been from Neiman Marcus. I can't remember if I ordered Oribe stuff last year (think I had enough from the year before, so didn't need to), but I've always gotten the best prices from NM. They usually do $50 off an order of $200 - there will be something that says you can't make multiple orders, but I've always been able to make multiple orders and always get the discount each time. Make sure you use a cash back software like Rakuten (formerly Ebates) - I believe I've seen it up to 14% cash back from Neiman Marcus.
      (Here's a referral code for Rakuten if you don't already use it, you can get $40 for signing up - www.rakuten.com/r/KENDRA5026?RAF&RAF%20share&eeid=45830 )
      Oribe is pricey stuff, so def try to find some good deals during the sales!!!!! Hope you get all kinds of goodies! (Start making a list and look at prices and figure out orders of $200 or just over, in case that's the promo they run! And then get ready to shop - I was always worried stuff would get sold out, so I ordered early!)

Also, I'm a big fan of Ebates - some sites will do pretty good cash back percentages (I always stock up on Oribe from Neiman Marcus during Black Friday - they always jack up their Ebates to 14% cash back during that time, plus Neimans always runs legit promos - probably end up paying about $135 for $200 worth of product!).

      I've never noticed build-up with Oribe. Several people have mentioned the silicones, so I definitely need to look more into this. I tried the airstyle flexible finish cream and it FAILED so bad!! It promised to tame frizz and make puffy hair less puffy. Omg it left my hair a sticky nasty mess! Don't recommend for anyone! Its more like a dudes pamade. Also the maximista spray I find to be a dud too. I just don't feel like it gives me much volume at all, there's better products for that. Agree with you about the moisture cream, and the texture spray. Although I feel like the texture spray makes the hair go flat pretty quickly.

    • @crazykenz4203
      @crazykenz4203  7 років тому +1

      Interesting about those products you mentioned - I've never tried the flexible finish cream or the maximista (but was tempted to get the maximista). I feel like Oribe's styling products are so hit or miss! Some are awesome, but some are just like, "meh, what's the point?!" I think this is one of those brands that really has to educate hair stylists about how to use the product and then the stylists are able to magically transform the products and get you to buy them, but then when you try to recreate the look, bam, huge fail! Glad you like the moisture cream and texturizing spray - interesting your hair goes flat, though (maybe I just use tons!).

      A couple options that I have used in the past... Birchbox used to run a 20 or 25% off sitewide sale during the whole Black Friday weekend, so I stocked up during that. I think they stopped that high of a discount - I remember it being only about 15% off this past Black Friday. In 2016, though, I ordered through Neiman Marcus. They had a promo where if you spent $200, you got $50 off (so essentially 25% off). I made a huge list of all the products I wanted for the next year and made four or five orders, each around $200. I also use Ebates (they do cash back) and on Black Friday, I think Neiman's had 14% cash back! So really, after both of the deals, $200 worth of products ended up being around $135!

I know Nordstrom also stocks Oribe, as well as Barney's and I'd guess some of the other high-end department stores. Get Ebates, too, will save you tons of money! (I think Neiman's normally only is like 4% cashback, but they had a mega deal for Black Friday!)

      Hmmm, that seems weird. I mean, the liters are like $140 each, so plain white cardboard boxes do seem a bit cheap for packaging. You know what, my former stylist in CA works at a salon that sells Oribe. I'm gonna send her a message and ask because I I just can't remember! I've never ordered Oribe from Bloomingdales (only Neiman Marcus or Birchbox). I think if you contacted Oribe directly and they said that's how the liters ship, it's probably fine. Maybe they've changed their packaging for the liters since I last ordered them.

      Neiman Marcus! For the last two years, they have run a promo that is "spend $200, get $50 off" - and this includes beauty products (I think the only things that don't count towards the $200 is if the items are already marked down...which Oribe products never are). I also use Ebates to reduce the price even further. I believe Neimans usually has 4% cash back, but for Black Friday I think it's up to about 14% cash back!

      Yup, Oribe definitely makes pricey products. These were acquired over time, though, and I very rarely have paid full price for any of their stuff. Neiman Marcus usually runs a really great promo during Black Friday (not sure if it will happen this year cuz they did recently file for bankruptcy). In the past, their promo was: spend $200, take off $50 (ok cool so we are down to $150). I also use Rakuten (formerly known as Ebates) to get cash back. Neimans usually runs about 14% cash back (so that's another $21 that will come back to me, so now we are down to $129). And yes, the site would let you make multiple orders of $200 and still get the promos. I don't really order much Oribe now, really only their dry texturizing spray cuz I love it. Their products are pricey (but good) and I'm also getting more into cleaner, less toxic products. Anyway, my point is - you can definitely get good prices on Oribe!

      I really love the Supershine Moisturizing Creme (the regular one or the light version) in damp hair, then blow dry and flat iron. For a little oomph afterwards, I use the Dry Texturizing Spray. The only products I still use are the texturizing spray and the moisturizing cream, but I just couldn't justify the price of the shampoos and conditioners (which is also why I only bought these products when I knew I could get a decent discount, which I have always shared with viewers, both in the video and the comments).
