Anakin built C-3PO. That basically makes Luke Skywalker and C-3PO brothers.
Dr Shaym If you remember how much Luke actually complains during A New Hope (he became more mature in later films), that analogy only works better.
Now imagine, for a moment, that this was the actual movie and Lucas was making a video on youtube describing the his "what-if" with Jar Jar in it, lmfao.
I like Jar Jar Binks. I thinks he's funny. And I don't get what is so racist about him! He's a cross between a duck and a gecko.
@@EveryMan-yz1ce I don't get the racist thing either, but Jar Jar is far from funny. More just cringey and annoying

The whole story about Darth Maul surviving and getting robotic legs and becoming a nemesis to Obi Wan is exactly what happens during Star Wars the clone wars.
except the clone wars version of him sucked because instead of him pursuing the goals set by the darkness in his heart. he's just some lame drug lord. i'd say the star wars rebels version was best.
Ian Titty the clone wars version of maul was incredible. He wasn’t just some drug lord, it was a means to an end to get revenge on Obi-Wan and take mandalore.
The best part is that this was put out just over two weeks before Maul's return aired.
This is pretty unfair... You had over 10 years to think about this... oh wait...
That's when you remember how long Lucas had to get this right and get mad all over again
Rulyg80
I wasn't correcting you, I was agreeing. Sorry for the confusion.
Making Darth Maul the main villain throughout the trilogy, would have literally made it 1000x better. He is a badass and should have never have gotten killed off that easily.
Mhhh NO... Darth Maul was just a puppet and didnt have the potential to be a star wars trillogy villiain... Lucas knew that and thats why he killed him... The whole point of having three different villiains in the prequels is to show how good the emperor was manipulating EVERYONE to get to his goal... The problem is that you prequel haters dont see the bigger picture....
LukaANDkrosty Darth Maul did not die at that point, he did infact get robotic legs, it's cannon by lucas, his pain and anger kept him alive after being cut in half. He even went toe to toe with Sidious, and nearly overpowered him after Sidious killed his brother.
***** Still, robotic legs dont give you the brain and character to be a star wars villain. Plus, they completely ruined the character with that.... He went to be a silent asassin to a loud speaking complaining bitch..... I prefer him dead....
***** Aw, but what you people don't understand is that while idiots like you think that all that cartoon shit is canon, real-thinking adults, like me and most of others fans of Star Wars, don't. Darth Maul died in the Phantom Menace. Get over it, then blow me.
I like it a lot! One small change: Don't have Maul and Palpatine conversing after Maul's supposed "death". It makes the twist of him being alive in the next movie so much bigger.
I love that this dude critiques the film without utterly shitting on it and pointing out what it did well
Maul shouldnt have died. The story line you setup with it would have been perfect
+Viti V According to the Cartoon, he survived and made it to a trash pile planet, and he eventually found a apprentice (Of the same race as him) for his own.
The cartoon is canon as the movies are.
The last thing I saw of him, Sidious killed his apprentice and lightning shocked him saying he 'had plans' for him.
+lnsullivan422 It's irrelevant. He wasnt around in the movies and therefore his character was wasted. Not everybody watches the Clone Wars.
+Joseph Heath that doesn't mean he died in that scene whatsoever. Any true fan would watch the clone wars. Besides, he appears in other comic books
+lnsullivan422 Do you know in which season/episode he first appears? I wanna check it out
To me, this guy looks like a mix of Jeremy Jahns and Jim from American Pie.
+Alex Ross And his style is very similar to Jeremy Jahns in this video.
Not only does this all sound way better than what we got but Obi Wan reacting to Qui Gon's death with "wait what, what, what fuuuuck" and Qui Gon responding with "yeah dude fuck" would still be better than 95% of George Lucas' dialog.
I come back to this every few years and I'm impressed every time
@Antonio-Gransci Since I feel that everything after 4,5,6 is basically shitty fan fiction, I applaud him for putting himself and his ideas out there anyway.
I come here every five years or so. I realise I'm still healing from what the revival of this franchise did to my childhood memories
The best part about the prequels was the setup for Jar Jar to become a Drunk Kung-Fu-inspired Sith sleeper agent/hidden chessmaster as a kind of dark counterpart to Yoda, who also appeared as a strange little alien before revealing himself to be a Jedi Master. The worst was that this never came to fruition in the sequel.
+Chrisindapurplehouse I think that it could have been done a lot better. Less stopping the plot to look at JarJar being stupid, pretending or otherwise
+Fergus Ager No I mean that was never ever going to be reveal because it's just stupid! Jar Jar was no mastermind!
+Chrisindapurplehouse The proof is all there. I think it would have been awesome.
Jar Jar is the key to all of this. I hope this works out.
Jason Brown That line, when taken in the context it was given in by Lucas, was in reference to the effects shots that he wanted done for the prequels. If Jar Jar, as a mo-cap character, could be believed to be there, the rest of the effect shots could be done. You should watch the visual effects featurette for episode 1. That is where you will find the context of that quote.
riley van horn guy
Interesting. But, that still doesn't explain why anyone thought that Jar Jar was a good idea, at all.
Jason Brown Jar Jar was designed with kids in mind, just as C3PO and R2 were. He's a bumbling cartoon character and kids liked him.
riley van horn guy
Yeah, but he's massively annoying. He didn't have to take up every other frame of the film. If they wanted to make a kid's movie they should have just made a kid's movie. They didn't need to make an otherwise serious movie and take a minor comic relief character and give him way too much screentime.
Jason Brown Jar Jar was in the film so much because he was repaying a life debt like Morgan Freeman in Robin Hood Prince of Thieves. R2 and 3PO were also the comedians of the original trilogy. 3PO spent more time bitching about stuff and arguing with R2 in the originals than Jar Jar and we see them continue to fight in the prequels.
The weird part about this version is the love between obi-wan and Pademe.
In his version tho Anakin and Padmé are clearly supposed to be aged up so it seems aight. It’s just weird based on what we already know and are used to.

Clone Wars episode showing Maul's return - 9th March 2012
Holy....
The only thing that I would change from your version is that instead of Qui-Gon telling Obi-Wan to train Anakin, it should be Obi-Wan who made that decision to honor his master, due to his remorse and sense of guilty. For the rest, 10/10 ;)
I reckon you just cut Qui-Gon completly from the movie like why is he there? Obi-Wan said he found Anakin and brought it upon himself to train him as a Jedi, he is Obi-Wan’s master but wasn’t that Yoda though? Yoda taught him the ways of the force not Qui-Gon, you could have Qui-Gon as his saber instructor though that would make a lot more sense.

I _know._ This was released just two weeks before "Brothers," the CW episode in which Maul comes back. The timing is uncanny.
Another thing I would've changed is the way Darth Sidious is presented. In the movies, it was pretty obvious that the guy was Palpatine. Painfully so, really. It should've been that the Trade Federation guys mention a "mysterious benefactor" from time to time, or if they absolutely have to show him, have him communicate via really blurry hologram with a heavy distortion filter for his voice. Not only does it make the reveal actually surprise us, but it also properly builds up this guy's presence and makes us wonder who he really is and why he has to be so secretive about his appearance.

Your what if? Series has inspired me to make my own rewrites of the prequels. Currently working on episode 3 now.
Interesting idea, but I disagree with the love triangle implementation. Those drive me nuts.
i dont think it would be a complete triangle, but then again, its all hypothetical.
Funny you should mention that. At one point in Revenge of the Sith, there were talks of doing a love triangle between Padmé, Obi-Wan, and Anakin, but ultimately scrapped it (for the better). They did leave in Anakin's jealously, and in the novel adaptation there are more times he things Obi-Wan is trying to steal Padmé from him.
Here it doesn't seem to be too overbearing on the plot which is nice. As long as it doesn't go the route of the first two seasons of Korra (I loved the series and all, but that took most of my enjoyment out of the first two seasons), then that's fine with me.
***** I think it's an excellent use of sexual tension as a device to drive the narrative, without being wildly maudlin or indulgent. It creates the rivalry between Anakin and Obi Wan that's alluded to in Episode IV and is yet so miserably handled in Eps II and III. "YOU WERE SUPPOSED TO BE THE CHOSEN ONE ..." Oh my God, how awful. Calling it a "love triangle" weighs it down with too much baggage. There's no romance between Anakin and Padme in this installment, according to the "what if .."
Jedis aren't meant to fall in love though, are they? It makes sense for Anakin to do this (especially with Padmé as she's an established character after the first film) as he turns to the Dark Side. Why make Obi-Wan fall in love? Can't compare him to a non-Jedi relationship like Han and Leia.
Personally I like fresh plots and ideas. Why recycle patterns and plots we've seen from the originals? George brought back the characters, settings, and more. We don't need the love interests too.
Kieran Emery do you by any chance know dutchess satine, the one who obi-wan loves?
thebiggamers999 No, I do not. Had to look her up. Never really cared for the animated shows - even if they're supposedly 'canon'. Even so, I'm just referencing the points made in the video, and pointing out how Jedis aren't supposed to fall in love. Isn't that a rule? Did Obi-Wan break that then? If I'm mistaken on the rule, then fair enough. My knowledge on the saga is pretty basic.
Still think the plot of the films ran fine with Anakin and Padme.
Kieran Emery yes the jedi forbid making close personal relationships but i believe many broke that rule.even Obi'Wan did, he would've even left the jedi order if satine said so.
btw the animated serie is pretty good, you should try it
It's probably one of those thousand year old rules no one follows anymore due to their absurdity. Like Christianity with eating lobster.

Am I crazy, or is Liam Neeson's portrayal of Qui Gon Jinn how I imagined Anakin Skywalker to have looked before his turn? A Jedi Knight, with a gentle nobility, and ease of manner who maybe does things in an unconventional way. A character we can sort of root for and get behind so that when the turn happens it's tragic and we care. (as opposed to what we got).
Fascinating that “Rebels” used your Darth Maul plotline, and to great effect I think. The Kenobi/Maul rematch was brilliantly terse.

I literally just realized this was made before Maul was revealed to have survived
these prequel storyboards are amazing - you are so right, the movies could have been so much more epic if they were about obiwan, I wish you would make these versions!
Stupid long comment ahead! Grab a Red Bull if you intend to read this.
How I would fix the prequels:
1. *Don't* *kill* *off* *Darth* *Maul*.
Because he died too soon, a longer life-span with him chasing Obi would have shown off his vengeful side, and because it would be kind of neat if he was in the entire trilogy. I would've killed off the cowardly Grievous on Naboo, so Obi could have *destroyed* Maul on Utapau. It would have done the prequels a favour.
2. *No* *useless* *CGI*.
While the necessary and good-looking use of CGI in the prequels came out alright, things like Dexter and his café could have been crafted rather than animated. We all love the masking, puppeteering and scenery building in the originals... And I think the actors would've had more fun with less greenscreen and more materialised scenery to play with.
3. *KEEP* *GEORGE* *OUT* *OF* *THE* *DIRECTING*. The script and the acting suffered greatly from George's directing. "From my point of view, the Jedi are evil!"? Really?
And I just want to see the cast in full action. The prequels were a waste of talent (and Samuel should have been a bad motherf*cker).
4. *Ani* *shouldn't* *be* *a* *little* *bitch*.
It would've been so much cooler if he had gone from noble but short-tempered wee hero, to being corrupted into an angry (more badass) Vader. Anything but the Anakin Crywalker of today.
5. *Show* *off* *Ani's* *talents*.
A pod race, dual-wielding and saber-skills are just not enough to make a convincing Chosen one. Isn't he supposed to be like the Harry Potter of Star Wars? Then where does he prove that he's way more skilled than the other Jedi? But I guess he can lift fruit...
It's just that Yoda could lift an entire *ship*.
6. *No* *factory* *scene*.
The factory scene was awful. Enough said.
7. *Improve* *Jar* *Jar*.
Make him less of the clown of Star Wars, and more of a subtle, charming, actually funny comic relief. Threepio and Artoo work so well because the funniness they bring isn't forced or cheap - they're ingeniusly scripted and charismatic characters. Do that * prods George with a stick *.
8. *Go* *for* *the* *silent* *scenes*.
You know the scenes like when Boba holds up Jango's head and touch foreheads, or when Ani cries a little (surprise, surprise) in the temple, or Vader's march into the temple? Those were some of the most powerful scenes - without any lines spoken. More of those would have been great.
9. *Make* *me* *give* *a* *f*ck* *about* *Qui-Gon*.
And not just because the character was a waste of the gift that is Liam Neeson, but also because I would not give a flying f*ck about Qui-Gon's death if it wasn't for Ewan McGregor's flawless acting. Some backstory would have been awesome.
10. *More* *Alderaan*.
Some more exposure to Alderaan would have made the destruction of it in episode IV even more sad. And yeh, it's a beautiful planet.
And I would rewrite the "only a Sith deals in absolutes" line. There's a lot of things in the prequels that make no sense, but this one just irks me because there is so much dealing in absolutes in Star Wars. "That's no moon, it's a space station"? "You can benefit from this, or die"? "Do or do not, there is no try"? *The* *quote* *itself*? Something in the likes of "Geez, Ani. That hurt my feelings" or "what an awesome friendship this is" would have been better, and not just because "only a Sith deals in absolutes" is such an illogical line.
Dammit so many good ideas in yours and from the video can't we remake it and forget these last 3 awful movies!
Good news! He didn't die. Bad news! That makes no sense and later he becomes a robot scorpion
***** I still kind of refuse to believe that the spider-thingy is Maul. Maul doesn't talk that much (which is intimidating and great), and I still don't think he'd survive the slice and fall - even though he's Maul. CW-Maul makes me sad inside.
***** Well, George himself said he died. Yet again, George says a lot of things... I guess it's not *that* far fetched, but I still think he should have died. If Savage wasn't the light version of Maul, he could easily have kept on the legacy himself. But no... Sorry for going off track. But honestly, he should've died.
I would have changed jar jar's voice, to be deeper and raspier, and attire, to be some form of rugged gungan armor, and turn him into a bounty hunter. His agility and ability to breath underwater would come in handy and he would be helpful in fighting off of droids. Just an idea, what do you think?
Better still, Jarjar doesn't speak English, like Chewy. Making the audience imagine half the conversation is comedy gold; "I don't know. Fly casual!"
Just imagining Qui Gon going "Yeah dude, FUCK." made my day.
Wow a movie with a concise and clear plot with characters that develop along the way? I didn’t know that was possible in Star Wars movies made past the 80s
Oh my fucking God. Your version of Episode I is amazing. I...I... Holy shit we need to remake episodes I, II, and III. You need to be at the helm. Change everything you want, but please keep Ewan McGregor as Obi-Wan. Make-up, Michael Douglas CGI, anything you need to do to make him look younger like he was when the movies were first made.
We need to make a petition. We need to do something. I'm gonna call Obama. Fuck
This dude is completely wrong. The prequels are Anakin's story - this whole Obi Wan focus is absolutely horrible. In fact all of Star Wars was, in reality, about Anakin and subsequently Vader.
I would've removed Qui Gon entirely (not because I dislike him, he's just an empty vessel that was essentially the wise Obi Wan we get from ep2 on) and had Obi Wan take on Anakin as his apprentice from day 1. Make Anakin a young teen, same as Padme, and they blossom from there.
Michael, just came back to watch this video (as I've done numerous times over the years because it's so awesome). But I just want to point out how impressive the evolution of your video quality has been. The immediate differences in audio quality was instant. Anyway, your channel is awesome - keep up the great work.
I’m certain Filoni watched this. Thank god he did
Maul is a bloody awesome villain and he was so short lived.
I thought he was pretty inconsequential, actually. That's probably because he was so short lived that his role in the story was minimal. Sure, he killed Qui Gon, but that was pretty much his only purpose (other than to provide an excuse for a lightsabre duel).
Read the book Darth Maul: Shadow Hunter. It's not the best book ever but the stuff Michael did with Maul was brilliant.
Allthough i really like the new trilogy just like the old one i must admit that you have a few good points and I definitely would've liked your version of the film very much!
But I would prefer to keep the space battle, because young Anakin (of course would've worked better as Teen-Anakin) destroying the federation-ships is a massive cameo to luke destroying the Death Star. twice...
And fighting Yoda is no bullshit! Fighting Yoda showed perfectly how powerful he really is (or was) because in the old trilogy he is old and weak. He still can use the force but like jumping around and that... he hasn't done this for years an then a few years later ha passed away so he couldn't do that but in the new trilogy he is younger and like.. the biggest Jedi ever so, at this point it was a good idea to make him GC!
***** I would agree, fighting Yoda is good but, i think it could have been slightly more shrouded in mystery, Yoda could have come in later in the film ore just left out till the 2nd one where he really shines, fighting count dooku and all that.
+ZXGamerGlass sorry i should have been more clear, he didn't fight in episode one, but i'm suggesting he could have not been in episode one at all, just lots of people mentioning how great he is etc.
The whole obi wan padme thing in this doesn’t really make sense I mean in the original she is like 13 and he is 25
Padme wouldn't be a child in this version. She doesn't even look like she's 14 in the movie
@@HazarTulum Bruh 14 year olds are minors. Also even if she don’t look 14 she still 14.
14, and this is the age young girls could fall in love with wizard knights. Do you even know anything about women?
The Darth Maul stuff you talked about is almost exactly what happens in The Clone Wars tv show and it is AWESOME
I liked Mike Stoklasa's idea of Anakin starting out being over 16. The idea of a ten year old being too old to train seemed ridiculous after seeing the original trilogy, I think it was just an excuse to get a bunch of children in the film because they stupidly thought that would make children like it more.
I can see where you're coming from, but if you've seen TCW you'll know that jedis are taken from their parents as toddlers and trained from the earliest childhood. That's why Anakin is too old and Luke was WAY too old. That's just the canon explanation though.
It mades a bit of sense.
Jedis are like shaolin monks with super powers.
Is not just gymnastics, is philosophy and "brain washing". Luke fails the yoda training because he was to old. He had prejudgments about the world around him. A younger child does not.
Nachoman Randy I would call them samurais with superpowers. Shaolin monks were about defending thenselves and their temple. They did not serve a greater cause as warriors. Samurais on the other hand served their lord and the Emperor as warriors and they protected the peasents against bandits, so in that aspect the Jedi is closer to the Samurai. Lightsaber = Katana ;)
Anakin starting out at 16 is a stupid idea, as are numerous of his ideas. Guy knows nothing about storytelling. Episode 1 wasn't good, but he didn't really imprive it.
You have no concept of story nor what it took for him to realign this story. If you understood that CHARACTER drives story, not flashy action sequences, then you'd understand why Obi-Wan's character arc is so important to the overall story. But I'm guessing you don't really understand how the deconstruction of the original movie works
I see your version of the prequels quite often... I chose to believe that this is what really happened in the prequels (including your "what if" to episode II and III). It would be AWESOME to hear your versions for VII, VIII and IX!!!
He’s likely not going to do story treatments for the sequel trilogy. I mean look at RLM, they went easy on the sequels when they had even more problems.
@@beatlecristian They didn't have more problems, they had different problems.
@@beatlecristian That's certainly one of them.
I think the prequels lend themselves to a rewrite is because the overall story arc is very clear and has alot of potential: its the tragic fall of Anakin and the Republic. Its more how that story is told at a lower level where most of its weakness lie.
The sequels suffer more from high level structural issues. I feel like its rather confused on what story its even trying to tell.
As I've heard people say: The prequels are a good story told poorly, the sequels are a poor story told well. To improve the sequels, I think you pretty much need to tell a different story.
@@davidrich27 those are some good points, what are your thoughts on George Lucas referring to himself as the “king of wooden dialogue?”
A romantic connection between obi wan and padme would have made the events of the subsequent films so much more impactful, especially Episode III
Has someone made a petition yet to give this guy a major roll in the making of Star Wars 7?
ATTENTION!!! DEAR GEORGE LUCAS & DISNEY EXECUTIVES: PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD EMPLOY THIS MAN
Another change: Anakin built R2-D2, not C-3PO. Thematically I think it works better, since Artoo is always along on Anakin’s adventures. Anakin hardly ever bothers with Threepio, and barely ever shared screentime with him. Anakin wants to grow up to be a pilot, so of course he’d want to build a pilot’s navigational droid. He and his mom have no need for a protocol droid. Just a thought, thanks for reading this if you did.
C-3PO could be a protocol droid in Padme's court and he would meet R2 when he follows Anakin on the Nabbo ship.
The funniest bit to me was I clicked the video and read the title, and then clicked like before the ad even played. Then burst out laughing - merely posing the question was enough to earn a like from me - thank you for that brief moment where I considered the possibility that Episode 1 was good: a vision of a better world.

Darth Maul was hands-down one of the coolest things ever to appear in a Star Wars film. Killing him off in Episode I - instead of making him a major villain throughout the prequel trilogy - wasn't the worst mistake George Lucas has ever made, but it's definitely in the top 5.
it was the biggest mistake of George Lucas
sorry about the spelling I am Brazilian
well, they brought maul back for the clone wars cartoon, gave him some crazy lower body. not sure if that's any consolation or not, lol, but he technically survives.
'duck' is worse than 'willow'? or 'indy 4'? :) lucas was the exec producer of 'duck,' not the writer or director, sooo....
Screen junkies got me here
He should do this for the sequels
I think Rise of Skywalker is the only one that needs it. You could make that case for Last Jedi but that's a more coherent movie then people give credit, I'm sure he would still mention a few things about it though. The Force Awakens is incredibly solid, imo.
So you're fine with Darth Maul spider legs?
that whole arc in tcw is actually really good, and he only has the spider legs for like half an episode.
Kelvin Casing I was thinking the same thing; Grievous was canonically a former apprentice of Dooku who lost all his organs except his heart and brain, so there’s no reason it couldn’t have been Maul. Then the action in Episode 3 where Obi-Wan goes after Grievous for like half an hour would be worth something and be satisfying. Then, we would find out that this villain that we’ve been following was nothing more than a prop, and the real villain is rising behind him and Anakin will become the true villain.
I think you hit the nail on the head my friend. If only you directed that movie.
Still relevant today.
Seven years in and Still one of the best videos on Star Wars.
I really didn't think the prequels are as bad as everyone says. I think they did a decent job. my biggest complaint is that he went too crazy with the special effects and lost a sense of realism. Ja ja binks was an annoying character .. I wish darth maul stayed longer.. but other than that.. I thought they were pretty good. sue me. The focus was on darth vader and his story history.. which I think was the best way to go about it.

There are just too many plot holes that dont allow the movie to be interesting at all. I liked them as a kid, but now every time I see them, I just cant believe what a mess Lucas has made. I will always love Star Wars, but prequels still are a failure.
I learned more about screenwriting watching this video than I ever did with, say, Syd Field books or even reading scripts. Everything about the Prequel Trilogy is a disaster. This is why I'm looking forward to Ep VII, the only other trilogy that will matter. I can't wait!!
I've been trying to find this video again for like 3 years!
C3P0 had to be in this one to keep the tradition of him being in all Star Wars films (except the ewok ones)
I agree 150% about Darth Maul because it would be like if Darth Vader killed Obi Won and Luke just went up and stabbed him its just like Now what?
You see it's like poetry, it rhymes, like every stanza rhymes.
That whole thing you said about Maul having a rivalry with Obi-Wan was kind of explored in the Clone Wars.
Damn, now I'm pretty annoyed this wasn't the version of the movie we got, hahaha. Well done!
I think Phantom Menace would have been good if:
1. Took out most of little Anaikin scenes
2. Took out Pod race
3. Took out all the Jar Jar scenes
4. Took out the diplomacy/politics
5. Extended the first Lightsaber battle with Maul.
6. Maul didn't die until episode 2
I think the Pod Race should have been even longer, it was fast-paced, intense, exciting, and done very similarly to the space battles from the original trilogy, hell the space battle in ep III is the best space battle scene, and that one was done very similarly to the Original trilogy too, I'd expect similar action in episode 7
uggh Prequel haters are literally impossible to satisfy, good luck with episode 7 OR the Yezzum-Vong/Admiral Thrawn trilogy by Tymothy Zahn.
I agree with most of the points, except for the politics. I know they seemed boring to everyone else, but it really shows how the Empire got started. The originals made it seem as though the only way to rule government was through the Force. Here, it showed how politics in the universe worked, therefore setting up the chain of events that led to the downfall of the Republic and the rise of the Empire beyond the Jedi and the Sith.
I think you at least need SOME politics and diplomacy in order to help expand and build the world of Star Wars, but not make it the central theme of your entire story. We need to learn how the empire came into power and there is no way you can explain that without having elements of political intrigue in your story.
I think Jar Jar should have been the main character and Obi-Wan's Master. Was given far too much of a menial role which was the film's biggest fault.
***** Nice try what? Jar Jar is a wonderful and often misunderstood character that gets far more hate than he deserves and is only second to Obi-Wan in the movies.
***** I come with only peace and love friend. I certainly wouldn't be happy with hatred of any sort. Mr. Binks would certainly understand my message as he was courageous and noble. He would have been a great jedi. Perhaps even a grand master.
CaribbeanLounger You must stop with the hate and the generic comments. And learn to let love into your heart and think for yourself my brother. May peace be with you and may you learn to think for yourself.
Now please do the same for the sequel trilogy. Something tells me this’ll be easy af😂
little does 2012 belated know season 5 of the clone wars basically features everything he said about maul towards the end
This sounds like a good frist draft of a script. Also, give Darth Maul backstory and characterization, for fucks sake. And no, I'm not willing to sit through 3 novels and a 10 issue comic seires to get that, it should have been in the freaking movie. Thank you.
Obi'wan: "Hey..Uhm uhm- master.. uhm..FUCK!
Qui'gon: "Yeah dude.. fuck.."
9:20 Now that was a good prediction
I really appreciate that you didn't have R2 and C3P0. The bigest problem with having the two interact with, and work together with characters in the prequels is that Obi Wan in the original trilogy has no recollection of ever knowing the droids in question! otherwise he would have acted like he was meeting old friends for the first time in a long time, and say something to Luke like "Oh hey, did you know 3PO was built by your father?" It makes no god damn sense.
Old comment but Obi-wan simply lied about not knowing R2. What doesnt make sense is R2's actions in A New Hope if he wasn't Obi-Wan's former droid. 3PO tho should have probably been cut from the prequels
man this was really good!
i agree with this man, especially with how Mual should stay alive.
Grobee i read that somewhere, sorry i was just going with just the 6 main films
Shabir Ali I see, so at the times of the Old Republic there were no rule about the rule of two? And the only sith master remaining invented this rule, because the sith with greedy and turned on each other?
Why would Obi-Wan be jealous or have a "love interest" in Padme if he was trained at a VERY young age NOT TO! I disagree with that whole part.
Because Obi-Wan's a person, not a droid?
He fell in love before, making him have a crush on Padme isn't far off.
A human can train themselves not to view woman "that way". It's fairly common in religion which is what the Jedi Order basically was. Jealousy is also something that the Jedi would sense and Obi-Wan would lose that strict personality that is a big part of his character. And I really don't pay attention to those Cartoon Network shows. That would be a 10x bigger issue than Greedo shoots first...
Since the Clone Wars show is canon, you may want to check it out; after season 1, things actually get really good.
What I'm saying is Obi-Wan isn't perfect. He fell in love, he felt jealousy towards Anakin when he first came around. Remember, the Jedi were semi-blinded by the dark side during almost all of Obi's tenure as a Jedi; they couldn't sense Anakin's love for Padme, why could they sense Obi-Wan's jealousy towards Anakin?
Jesse Johnston These are prequels...it's allowed to show a young reckless Obi Wan still stumbling on his path to being a legendary jedi master.
Yeah, but they get them and raise them up so young that I just don't think that would make sense. I'm just saying, out of all of that, that's the one thing I disagree on. There'd be resentment or at least people would make it out. In the originals he was so BA because there wasn't really resentment toward Vader from Obi-Wan, it was more sorrow. I think that if Obi-Wan had a thing for Padme it would ruin that aspect and you'd definitely see 'Old Ben' in a different light.
This is really good. One thing I always wanted of the prequels was the reveal that Palpatine was really a clone with no force powers, even though he himself never knows that. that way, it makes sense that the jedi can't sense him, and it will be a great twist in Episode 3 when the jedi go to confront him and he whips out his lightsaber for an epic fight only to get brutally sliced up. then we hear the emperor's laugh as he steps out as he looked in Episode 6 and pretty much slaughters everyone.
just my random thoughts =)
Does it really work having Obi-Wan only a few years older than Anakin? Like, if Anakin is a teen in this, say, 19, and Obi-Wan is 25, would he really make that good of a teacher?
The reason I say this is mostly to try and justify how old Obi-Wan looks in Episode IV. If George wanted to make Vader in his 20s in Episode III, making him in his 40s in the original trilogy, perhaps it'd be better to make Obi-Wan like, his late 60s or early 70s, instead of 57. And yes, i know Sir Alec was only 63 when they filmed it, but 63 year olds in 1977 looked way older than 63 year olds do now
Its a long time ago in a galaxy far away, how can you know how 57-old looks like in it, especially on desert planet with twin suns?
I like how the robotic legs darth maul thing was actually a thing in the clone wars series.
I believe all watchers of the clone wars series were laughing their a**es off when they saw that part XD
He's had them before he showed up on the show.
+TekTheNinja I think maybe this video came out before they aired those episodes?
+Scott Parker vs. the World He had the spider-like ones... is that what you mean?
I said before the show.
