I learned The Lords Prayer in the Methodist Church as a child. With the ending. Hearing this in song is one of the most beautiful hymns I have ever heard. Thank you for this teaching (I am 72 years young) 🙏
Thank you for telling us about God your awesome, my teacher says this stuff is deep for explaining I don’t know how you can teach this and explain it a easier way!👍🙏
It’s crazy to think that my parents used to pray this prayer with me when we would pray at night. They weren’t really devout believers then. I just attended a catholic school.
Thanks Javier. There is definitely something about this prayer that taps into what is most universal in the human experience. It's a prayer that's working on us even if/when we don't quite yet know the depth and fullness of what we're praying.
The Shema (recited when getting up in AM and going to bed at nite) written in Hebrew (duh!), begins with the shema word which ends in an extra large ayin, and ends with echad, the last letter of which is an extra-large dalet. (That is also the format on the teeny scroll inside a mezuzzah case!)(who cares?) Those 2 letters spell the word ed which means "witness". We are to be engaged in representing this NAME in our world. - to your point of active participation in Yeshua's "Kingdom" plans! [and Dr Carmen Imes "Bearing God's Name] The traditional ending of the Matt.6 prayer (added ??) reflects what is barely whispered by the assembly following the out-loud Shema: S-h-h-h- (except on Yom Kipper) Baruch shem kavod malcuto.l'olam va'ed (Blessed is the Name of His glorious Kingdom forever and ever, Amein.) Your reference to David's prayer 1 Chron 29. Perhaps this was a prayer concept already in place during monarchy through to first century Yeshua time.?? Just some thoughts (based on the rote liturgy heard in most synagogues today)

Where can I get a copy of the Didache?
Hey Marc, just Google it and you'll be able to read it online.
Hi Marc,
You can get a copy of the Didache (text, translation, analysis, and commentary) on amazon. We recommend the one by Aaron Milavec.
