Carlos De Vil, son of Cruella De Vil, was one of the ruling villain kids on the Isle of the Lost. With Mal, Evie and Jay at his side they took what was there’s with no regards for anyone else, but Carlos is not that simple. Carlos is a character I have grown to enjoy more and more through every viewing of Descendants especially after I learned about his past.

I feel really bad for Carlos the way Cruella treated him most of his life. He'd say "My mom doesn't care about me"
Ryan Lee yes and in the Isle of the Lost book Cruela gets home when Mal Evie and Jay are there and says “Carlos my baby! My baby” and when Evie Jay and Mal think she’s talking about Carlos he soon clarifies that she is talking about her cars. When they r trying to get in Maleficent’s fortress they give Carlos a riddle basically asking what is Cruella’s true love Mal, Evie and Jay ask if it’s Carlos or Carlos’ father but Carlos answers that it’s her fur coats.
I appreciated Carlos's character SOO much more after I learned Carlos's backstory and watched the movies. Prince Ben was wrong....Carlos had it more than "rough" living on the Island with Cruella as his mom. His life was absolutely nothing short of heartbreaking. Its not that his mom loved her car and her fur collection MORE than her son....from what I can tell, she didn't love Carlos AT ALL. He was terrified of her. I think meeting Dude was the first time Carlos actually knew what real love felt like....because all he had known with Cruella was pain. He finally knew what it felt like to love something outside of his 3 friends. That's why he formed such a strong attachment to Dude and when they were talking to the parents, Carlos was holding him....almost like a protective shield. He is SO much more than just the son of a villan. He has a really sweet and kind heart and he genuinely cares about and is very protective of the people he lets in....Mal, Evie, Jay, Dude and now Jane. He truly IS a good boy.

@•MeltedPunk• Because unlike Maleficent and Cruella, Carlos has a good heart. He CARES about people. If you look closely in the third movie when they are on the Isle, you will see him come out of "Carlos's House". Its a safe place he made for lost children on the Island so they could know what it felt like to be cared about. He took all that pain and humiliation and badness and turned it into something GOOD when he came to Auradon.
He was just a scared yet kind boy. You can tell how sweet and sensitive he is when he is around Jane in D2 and D3. He was always more of a diamond in the rough than a villain.
Something that's interesting is that the children of the villains aren't cared by their parents and it makes me wonder why they decided to have offsprings 😂😂

I always hated Cruella De Vil which ironically, led to Carlos becoming my fav character, and yes I did know that Cruella was never the ideal mother.
On the subject of 101 Dalmatians: The Series, I suspect Carlos' intelligence, and Technological talent, maybe his Uncle, Ph.D De Vil borrowed him to do a brain experiment. But that's just my theory.
I wonder what Carlos' relationship with his other cousin Ivy was like?
Jane Bell this is going to sound stupid but when I was like four I went to Disneyland and Cuela De Vil made fun of me for having pig tails so that's part of the reason I feel so bad and like Carlos so much myself.
That last question is now something I want to know now....

All I knew was that his mum treated him as a slave as she basically points it out in the movie.
Also I'm kinda glad Carlos and Evie didn't get together because CarlosxJane and EviexDoug are my two favourite couples in Descendants. SO CUTEEEE! xD

Theory:
Is Yzma the reason for talking animals in Disney movies? When Pacha threw her potions at her attacking guards, it turned them into animals, and a guard asked if he could go home because he was just turned into a cow. Also, Kuzco could talk too. Maybe, Yzma experimented on her guards and they became animals, and then she abandoned them to the wild because they were failures, and left them to mate with their new kind to create more talking animals. This could also have led to the animals uprising in Zootopia and Chicken Little, and maybe Night Howlers are just plants that take away the animals last bit of humanity. In the guard/cow scene, there was a gorilla guard and a warthog guard, this could be how Turk and Pumbaa talk! Also, it can be seen that Yzma has a ton of potions for almost every species so that's how other animals talk. This doesn't line up with your Disney Timeline, but I think its pretty good.

The bell betrayed me today. Thank goodness for UA-cam timeline/listing. I know most of Carlos's backstory and he's one of my favorite VKs. I love that Disney allowed the showing of how uncaring parents can scare children even without being born magical beings. Abuse comes in many forms and Disney took it head on. Also I think in Descendants book 2 it was shown just how far Cruella's terrorizing of Carlos went since he still feared her a great deal. Great video and thanks for covering Carlos. Can you do Jay next? I think his father might be the kindest of the evil parents four.
Beelzebub, a.k.a Carlos' cat, is just roaming around the isle. He became a stray cat, and Carlos' sometimes see him on the streets and sometimes feed him bread.

Years late. but I love Carlos, he is my favorite Descendants character. And if the franchise wasn't on Disney Channel we would get more than allusions to the abuse he suffered from. However when mentioning Evie I noticed you forgot to mention that they met at school after she gave him a suggestion for the device that poked a hole in the barrier. As they were walking home she admits she didn't know Cruella had a son and alluded to the fact that for years she thought Carlos was a dog because Cruella called him Pet, she also alludes that at some point Carlos was put in a dog crate. I know far too much about Carlos than I should. But this is one of the most comprehensive views of him I have seen, so I loved the video.
He also completely forgot to mention Carlos the science nemesis
You neglect to mention how much Carlos was thirsting after Jay the inter first book. I know they write in that he had a crush on evie but wow how he described jay in that book.

Love Carlos! He and Evie are my favorites in both movies! I'm drawn to the smart characters! Plus I just never saw any cruel or evil aspects in them! Not even in the beginning! They both seemed the most innocent and good of the four!

Because that's how Maleficent bought mal up by Bing mean and mal though they was the only way and she had a hard life and she saved Evie the sleeping curse so she was never on that bad

Yeah mal had a hard back story and a hard life to she's actually a good person and friend and she did what she had to do to survive and her and Carlos became good friends

I knew about the childhood through the books. Love Carlos,he is so cute!They also chose a great actor for him. Not only is Cameron Boyce a great actor but also he has a lot of freckles which fits Carlos since dalmatiers have spots and that is kinda a refference to his mom's story. XD

He also has scars on his leg from getting trapped by a bear trap and his mother refused to help him to he removed it himself and made the scars worse, also when he sleeps alone or without dude even in aurodon he has awful nightmares which is why jay tends to get up earlier when dude isnt there

Cameron Boyce, the actor who portrayed Carlos, is not white. He's Black and Jewish. In his words he's a "blewish" anywho, Cameron is white-passing but not white. His grandmother was part of the Clinton 12. No one knows the the other's parents of every VK tho.

I just love most of the villain kids, the same reason why I love some of the villains. Some villains have terrible backstories and hidden motives, making them less like villains, and more like anti heroes. That also makes me empathize with them, especially Carlos (I’ve always been afraid of dogs, too, and other things.) Plus, I love them all so much! They’re all fantastic characters, and are well fleshed out.

Hey Isaac so I'm a big fan of Desendants and I created my own VK character her name is Carley Hearts she's the daughter of the Queen of hearts but she's good and she has throwing cards and an enchanted gold chain heart belt.
I'm thinking of doing one but with Anastasia (from Cinderella's) kid (her and the baker got together and got married but is living in a bakery not far from where Cinderella lives (in my version of the descendants story)
