Love the vlog as always! This whole 3 for 2 thing still amazes me. In Australia you may get 20% off once or twice a year (maybe) on VIZ, but even then the "discount" prices are generally equal or slightly higher than Amazon. Also those 4 pound traveling man sales, my god I wish our bookstores did this.
@@leeparso9682 Which stores are you referring to exactly? Sure Dymocks and QBD have buy 3 get 1 half off on fiction/promoted lines often enough, but for manga it's really just 20% off for VIZ month which is usually in oct, black friday and whatever discount they want to give for boxing day (20% - 35% depending on the store). This is just what I've found in my area though so maybe things are different around where you live? Booktopia and other such sites do deals as well, but I'm referring to in-store discounts.
@@lacie2446 QBD quite literally does 3 for 2 on Viz. They’ve had it at least every April for the last few years but I think it also happens later in the year too.
@@leeparso9682 That's really weird. I'm not doubting you or trying to have a go or anything, it's just that I go into my local QBD once a month to check on new releases and they've never mentioned a 3 for 2. Then again, I'm rural and the store I'm referring to is rather small, so maybe it's a location thing? I'll ask the next time I go in. Either way thank you for letting me know about this.
@@lacie2446 it could be this specific store because I always shop the sale when we’re on holidays. Dymocks is also currently running a 3 for 2 though of course not on manga! My local Dymocks has a small discounted manga section though which I do appreciate. I agree with you though that we don’t get anywhere as good sales here as they do in other countries!
You guys looked so freaked out when I said hi in the queue. Made away with about as much as I could carry in thick trades given that I was relying on public transport and working around the train strikes, a lot of Marvel Epics, some DC Future State, Hellblazer thickies, Daytripper, some Astro City. Always leave behind a lot that I'd like to grab at these, hopefully have transport next time and try to hit priority pick ups in the morning and head back for a more leisurely pass after lunch. Hit up the signing at the York store on the way back north, Lucy was lovely.
I would have loved to go to this but I was in Japan during it which is arguably better because I managed to get 31 volumes (all of them) of Tokyo Revengers (in Japanese) for a little over £50 for all of them which is a bit over £1.61 per volume. I got them from a second-hand chain that sells manga/figures/merch called Mandarake. Gives me an excuse to practice reading Japanese! :)

We have 3 for 2 on Viz sales here in Aust as well! All the big book stores do it a couple of times a year 🙂

Spotted a New Mutants Epic I missed.
