It's sad to see how far the Vepr hunter has fallen. I remember spawning as a scav with m61. Man, those were the days.
The Vepr Hunter used to be my favorite budget run in woods or shoreline, not only is it a cheap .308 semi, but its also very unique in its design and cool to see a civilian hunting gun go toe-to-toe with most other guns.
Who would win?

Yep and SCAVs used to spawn with magnum buckshot too, I'd kill them and then use their own ammo against them and PMCs LOL
They did a great thing with the alientech muzzle for M4's. Making a loud build same or even better recoil than silenced is something that should be more prevelent. Another thing is ammo.. I don't mind it not being craft only, but I think everyone would appreciate if you could find decent ammo more commonly laying around instead of 5.45 all the time.

Yeah only finding 545 ammo sucks. I'll occasionally find 855 but we can buy that so its not even worth picking up. I always check ammo boxes too, as that is the only somewhat reliable way to find good ammo.
But taking high tier ammo from traders was the right thing to do. Made helmets relevant again.
@@benallmon5613 For sure. It's not even like I'm desperate for good ammo since can just cycle craft and some mid tier ammo can be bought. But would be nice to find more than 13 pieces of M993 at a time every once in 50 raids lol
i find m61 and m993 in magazines on loose attachment spawns quite often
honestly even if it has less recoil then suppressed why use it(unless you want to attract fights) when suppressed versions will soon have the same recoil with the relating skills

I think the one thing that probably shouldn't be too RNG is ammo, attachments/weapons can come back in insurance but not ammo I'm fine with some ammos being craft only but it should be worth it and right now 9mm PBP,.300 blackout AP and many others are not worth the craft time/price and I think that a middle ground for bosses, rogues, raiders, guards and cultists spawning with good ammo is they should be top loaded so 5-10 good rounds per mag making it more available but not too common and ammo boxes in high danger areas should be guaranteed to spawn at least 30-60 rounds of high tier ammo.
PBP is purchasable for cheap right now.

With the entire gameplay loop and economy being based around guns you'd think they'd want to make them accessable and fun to kit out. Fun isn't in the vocabulary though. Only suffering

they could give scavs as-val more often and make lower tier 9x39 more avaliable, the fact that the 91-9a is coming soon gives me hope this will happen

9x39 needs to be handled carefully just because of how monstrous of a round it is. best caliber in the game in terms of the sheer amount of damage it can do.

I feel like hydra shock .45 is super underrated. Like 100 dmg a shot easily available in a cheap and accurate enough gun easily suppressable gun. Ump is dead but can be scary leg meta if ppl ever used it like that and god forbid you get a goot stock of .45 rip.

idk why they dont just balance the game, instead of making all the guns except a select few shit, just change the attachments stats so u dont see m4a1 SAI QD 14" handguard every time. Make ergo more important aswell.
The guns are balanced like that because it's realistic. People think that's dumb but there are hundreds of FPS games that have guns that aren't great IRL more balanced so that people use them more. In COD guns from WW2 are meta sometimes, but Tarkov is immersive. If you were in a weird fucked up place like tarkov IRL most people would be using AR-15s and modern AKs if they had the choice. Nobody's making you only run the M4. You can still enjoy the douzens of viable guns that are a little worse than the meta. I use guns that I just think are cool all the time. Most fights aren't just a DPS battle.
Tarkov isn't a competitive shooter. It's a Milsim survival game (or at least it tries to be) It doesn't need to have all guns be balanced.
@@MashPotatoJohns it's not DPS in the slightest lol it's that the m4 is one of the few guns that can be modded to have a reasonable amount of recoil. If you want to make a realism/immersion argument then TONS of guns should get a recoil buff. also attachments don't make nearly so big of a difference in gun handling IRL
@@MashPotatoJohns Tarkov guns are so far from realistic that it's not even funny. IRL guns don't have recoil that throws your aim to the sky. In fact, a stock M4 has about as much recoil IRL as the meta build in tarkov. Most guns behave VERY differently than tarkov would have you believe. Most SMGs have little to no recoil at all, especially if they have muzzle brakes or suppressors. And the recoil on pistols is actually retarded.
@@ghiidra__ yep this is why the ak101 is also really good. it is basically a laser. VAL and sa58 with m61 has the fastest dps in the game yet those are a rarity

The most endangered of them all is casual players.
To casuals it seems casuals are endangered. To chads it seems chads are endangered. To me it seems like the entire playerbase is endangered

The video was, as always, well done. Pacing is excellent in my opinion. The real question is the viability of the entire ecosystem of the Tarkov landscape. This specimen has left the area seeking a more stable hunting ground where conditions are predictable and constant. Difficult, yes, but predictable and consistent.
The way they've soft removed certain ammo types from the game is just stupid. Ok, so no flea for stuff like SSA AP, 995, PBP, they're all too good, gotta find em. That's fine, I'll go fight raide- no, they dont spawn with good ammo like at all anymore. Ok, I'll hit ammo box- no, its a stupidly rare chance to get it, and its only up to a partial stack anyway.
If the ammo isnt craftable, its basically removed from the game, straight unobtanium. Even the labs chads are rocking 856A2 and 855A1 because its whats available.
I like not being able to buy good ammo, and I don't think you should be able to craft it either. But it should be all over the place on reserve and in military areas on maps. The new event was a good way to do it, because you only get enough for 1-2 raids so not an OP amount either and you have to fight other pmcs to get it.
@@squidwardo7074 That's my biggest problem - making it FiR only basically turned them all into Evasion armbands, ridiculous odds to find them and entirely luck based. Even if the rarity was as such that you could find like 40 rounds a raid while consistently looking for it it would be workable.
What about my fellow sniping brethern? The scope removal hindered us greatly. Benedict PMII? Gone. Razor? Gone. Vudu? Gone.
Haven't touched a Bolt action since.

idk man, other scopes like the Schmitt&bender 3-12x have been serving me perfectly. i still miss the razor but it hasn't been difficult to make do without it

Every gun that the bloodhounds drop is fully kitted except for the MCX which has no stock or barrel mod on it :D
They really need to bring some of the ammo back to the traders. Even BP. The problem wasnt the ammo it was always the fact the other guns had to high recoil. Now there isnt a point in doing task because you cant buy good ammo. Now you either need to get lucky and kill someone with the ammo, or wait 30hours to craft them.
Maybe like 5 to 10 bullets a reset, not having top tier available to buy is a good thing, but it should be more readily dropped from enemies or boxes
@@CorruptionAura I do and dont agree with that. I was very unlucky this wipe, and not having any ammo to pvp and kill bosses really F me over this wipe. I actually quit this wipe because I got tired of waiting 17-20 hours to even attempt any pvp task.

EFT keeps adding all these "cool" expensive modern guns yet they lack alot of low tier guns that could possibly make wipes last a bit longer

I used to run the mcx so often on reserve, shame they ruined it because it was such a good gun for close quarters with how small it was, the fire rate, the decent bullets for a cheap and accesible price and its recoil when fully kitted out, for a pretty cheap price

Bring .45 RIP and/or hydrashock with the UMP and you got the best leg eater of the game. I got so used to it mid wipe I shot legs with high pen bullets.
Played a ton last spring and summer, tried getting into it once the wipe happened and noped out after 2 weeks. Had some guy run straight up to a building my friend and I were in and call out our usernames telling us we were b*itches for hiding in that room. So yeah I quit after that, if they can be that blatant and BSG not care then I'll spend time on a game I can actually enjoy.
personally, pistols are something of a rarity, even in factory, since: why use a pistol, if you could just get a smg, mod that, and then rip everyone in your path. Stirrup quest is mostly just disregarded, since you get negative rep from traders, that are hard-ish to get back.
Used to be that you get a movement bonus when you have a pistol out, if they tweaked the systems then they would be viable again, but BSG’s plates are so full that best case scenario they might buff pistols in 2028. I’m still upset 7.62x25 can’t go through class III like IRL.

I was an RFB user back before the sudden population boom (thanks for all the free RFBs btw) and I still do love the weapon, but the ammo changes made it require too much dedication to a single game for me bother anymore.
When i entered the video i expected it to cover behaviours of players and tactics implemented. I was however not disappointed by the topic being guns.

Can you put the MK47 mutant users there too? Those guys have been slowly dying off. I feel like I'm the only one left that uses the MK47 mutant for fun, and have seen so little mutant users. I've seen 4 of them for the last 2 wipes. I've teamed up with them a couple times just because we were using MK47 mutant. We used to call ourselves MK47 gang, and would generally piss people off because the recoil is so little for the gun, and ammo but in exchange it's expensive. Those guys have been offline the last 2 wipes ago. God I miss those guys.

I played tarkoc like 2 years ago, i had 400 hours of fun and its still my favourite game even if i dont Play it anymore. But damn man i miss old tarkov so much, i never had more fun in a game and never will
still using the rfb quite proudly :) such a cheap gun that nobody takes because the sr2/m1a/rsass are just better. i dont find much of a difference after using them all though (because im too bad to make use of the better stats) so i pick the one that's 30k rather than 120k at base and with cheaper modding due to the lack of pistol grip or stock

I would love to see a tarkov geographic video on the rarest species in tarkov: Mounted weapons users, specifically the AGS-30 user. I quit tarkov, but when I played I would often go into reserve as a hatchling and go to the nearest AGS-30 grenade launcher. If I spawned back behind black pawn/dropdown building I would get on the ags above the bunker and light up anyone who spawned at dome, and if I spawned at dome I would watch the whole map. I would get sniped a lot, but I had over 3500 pmc kills using it, and it is one of the most fun ways I have played tarkov. It's even more fun when you have a squad and you can watch over them, or if you have a teammate you can bait to die out in the open so you can blow up the looters. It's also a great thing to know how to use and I have wiped out many snipers at dome, snipers in the towers, squads by heating pipe, train station, and gluhar because of seeing where they are and knowing if I can blow them up. You should give it a try

Im holding out hope for the MCX. BSG is reworking the way suppressors work so that subsonic rounds ACTUALLY make a difference compared to supersonic ones, so staying quiet will be much harder. The VSS/ASVAL/MCX are all going to benefit from that change a ton. Couple that with a reducing recoil (because its a subsonic round, duh) and this could be a meta-quiet build weapon if the devs are able to pull it off. Im praying things go well so I can rat even harder.

The one thing I'm curious see how the meta is gonna shift with the addition of supressor durability and interactions with non sub sonic ammo. Along with more accurate armor hitboxes. Would more flesh damage rounds be more viable against slicks and hexes since they wont be able to protect your entire thorax anymore?

Tbh… just give AI high-tier ammo again. OR, leave the bloodhounds as a common enemy type, like 35-40% spawn on all maps (excluding Factory, Reserve, and Labs) and let us farm ammo off the AI

The MPX can work with GT, and it becomes the equivalent to RIP with recoil reduction. It never damages armor because of its stupid low pen, and a 30 round mag of it still will kill. Other than that its not very good :(

You know I kind of get a kick out of turning MPX's into full length carbines. The loud build with the 41 round mags is pretty fun even just using pst ammo.
They should just allow you to change the barrel in the MCX to a 5,56 barrel tbh.
I mean this game was built around one of the key features which is realistic gun building and for the MCX you litterally just have to change the barrel in order to make it compatible with 5,56, the bolt, magazines etc. stay the same.
Since we are far beyond the point where guns fill specific roles but rather just throw in new stuff to please the gun fetish, might as well do that.
I don't understand why bsg has such a big problem with 9mm. MPX used to be so nice (but was still overshadowed by the other meta guns). Now the recoil is like 10x more even with full meta and the ammo is impossible to get

Changing meta is healthy for a game. However, when the new meta puts entire playstyles on suicide watch, it's probably gone too far. In short, any one of these changes would have been fine, but all at once is funneling players into too few playstyles for the game to maintain a healthy play variety.
Despite what many belive, Demoman TF2 is actually an invasive species.
