Thankyou Ivar for your time and effort during the pandemic. It's great to hear your thoughts and views from Santiago, and much appreciated. Hello from Qld , Australia. P.s I have NO time for camino as I am vaccinating for covid! But my list of walks keeps growing!!
A very public thank to you Ivar, as my viewing of your updates has been one of the vicarious ways for my remaining 'connected' with the Camino and with Santiago de Compostela during the Covid restrictions. As was written in an earlier comment - 'The light is getting a bit brighter every week'. Many thanks and stay safe and stay well. Buen Camino
Thank you for the update, Ivar. I still hope to walk later this year if it is safe. Ideas are Finisterre, Muxia to Santiago or the Northern route from Santander. I don't intend to book flights or anything just yet. Look forward to hearing the news next week. Keep safe.
Thanks, Ivar! It's always a comfort to see the cathedral and hear that you guys are doing okay in SdC. Antigen tests. Interesting. I work in Hollywood and I PCR every day and rapid once a week. The antigen option is an interesting choice. It's definitely not as accurate as a PCR, but I guess they felt they had to do something. Thank you for keeping us in the loop! Buen Camino!
Thank you, Ivar for this great service you are providing for those of us contemplating doing one of the Caminos. Your updates gives as a good, all around picture of the situation in Spain and, for what you are telling us, it's not much different than here in Canada where are getting provinces going through the third wave. The border between Canada & US continues to be closed until the end of April; masking continues to be requested but not enforced; advocating social distancing; vaccinations are slowly getting there, but not fast enough. I have received my 1st shot of Pfizer but there is a big question up in the air as when can I expect the 2nd. Thank you Ivar and please take care of yourself.
Thanks Ivar ! Beautiful weather ! Here in Brittany the temperatures dropped 20 degrees in 2 days ...!! From 25 Celsius down to 3 or 5 in the morning and 11 in tte day ... back to hibernation again !!
Thanks Ivar. Here , Luis from the USA. I am planning to go to el camino Portugues but riding a bicycle. How is everything in Portugal or if you know a web side that you can send to me ; i would appreciate it. My plans are for mid August and to arrive in Santiago by early September. Gracias.
I am not sure... I am a long way from that area and do not know. I think France is in lock down now, so I bet things are pretty closed (but I don't know this for sure).
Thanks for the update, better days are coming
Really appreciate the updates Ivar. many thanks.

Thank you for your updates! In a future video is it possible to give a general update regarding the status of the albergues on the Camino?

As far as I know Portugal is opening up now after a big wave... they open slowly, but hopefully vaccines will come before they get hit again.
What is the current border situation from France into Spain? Are Pilgrims allowed to cross the French border from St Jean into Spain?
I am not sure... I am a long way from that area and do not know. I think France is in lock down now, so I bet things are pretty closed (but I don't know this for sure).
Yes it’s called a antigen test...not as accurate as the PCR test...but the result only takes about 15 minuts to get
Ivar, I have my vacation beginning on the 19th... Hopefully, will be a go- to begin El Camino...
