9:17 - Yes, the Combat Box flak makes it very clear where the enemy is but, spotting a small fighter or two amongst the flak splatter can be very difficult. In some situations, the flak itself can help "camouflage" the same planes it's trying to kill.
11:51 that mustang was me, attacking the target with my mates from Duxford Wing. I had made several runs on the target trying to get rid of my bombs but every time I lined up on a target somebody else blew it up just before I got there.... which led to me being distracted from checking 6, and of course we know the ending :( =DW=_Biggles*266 That was also me at 28:00 lol
The wing blowing off due to the Spit exploding seems a bit overdone. A Spit exploding due to lithobraking can't have the same blast wave as a bomb. Oh, well. I imagine that accepting these (small) imperfections are the cost of being able to enjoy these magnificent simulations. Nice sortie and welcome back in VR. It is by no means perfect and I think VR is not the best choice for people who aim to maximize their score above every thing else (we all know these kind of players). However (and this is a personal opinion) the flying experience just can't be beat. Talking about experience, Sheriff, do you use a Simshaker Jetpad? If not, I can very much recommend it, it's crazy how much it adds to the experience and how much (useful) information and feedback it provides (again, my personal opinion). Flying without it is akin to flying without sound for me.

But now with current hardware I dont see many draw backs of VR anymore. The FoV and clearity of the Quest 3 with current hardware is so good that I can check my six by just glancing back a lot better. Maybe with TIR you can do that quicker and you can get to angles which aren't possible with VR, but with VR you have two eyes, you pickup movement much easier and struts and cockpit elements are less of a hassle with binocular vision. In battle my situational awareness is much better compared to 2D. You can feel where aircrafts are going by just quickly glancing at them. Deflection shots are 10x easier. Especially when you are good with these kinds of things in real life. Hard to explain but if you play football and you pass the ball to your mates over long ranges you need the same skills you need to hit a flying plane. I dont think that my score will suffer what so ever by VR at this point. The only thing which cost me my life so far were bad luck and poor judgement. Nothing to do with VR inherently. I could have killed so many more enemies if it werent for "VR excitement" So right now I am a bit more exicted because VR is so visceral. But I believe that this will ease off with time. And then I think my kills/sortie actually rise compared to 2D.

And I agree that a spatial experience not only is enjoyable to experience, having depth perception also has it's inherent advantages (like when deflection shooting). I do absolutely like the 3D aspect for SA, but I still find it hard to be sure I'm seeing everything relevant all the time. I'm sure you will improve your score, and I well imagine you could have killed more enemies. I very much appreciate the "VR exitement" of visually being in the aircraft myself, even in the long run I find that very satisfying. So, by all means, do enjoy that experience. Hello when im doing the roll my plane keeps a slight turning to the direction of the roll insteadof maintain a straight direction. Why is that? im using the bf109 G2.
is there any penalties for having ur pilot killed in IL 2? or is it just for like immersion, like life preservation instead of following enemy to the end to where u die as well.
Well not real penaties. But the results of the sorties are beeing tracked and that is for me enough incentive to keep my piots alive and get a good record. But many other dont care much about that. There are servers with harsher penalties. Where you get downtimes and even 24h bans after repeated deaths.
I hadnt recorded the first person view and I can explain the tactics better in 3rd person view. The recording of IL-2 also only shows the left eye perspective. I however aim with the right eye. So the view in IL-2 always looks like that I aim without the gunsight.

Several factors. Its now possible to play at higher graphic settings at no vr performance loss. Further the game allows now to record the right eye. And third stabilisation software is now much faster and got better. Next, I don't create as many videos as before. So I don't feel the need to get a video out every week. I also want to create less live gameplay, so less need to stabilise in cockpit footage.

Good work and best prop of WW2 together with Ta152H. Imagine these planes with 130 Octanes fuel like allieds had... More boost and even more power...
Now they only would have needed the engine materials to sustain these :)

You need to use the rudder to compensate. That is gravity if I understand correctly.

The "Combat Box" Server is hands down the best "casual" experience in Multiplayer.
