His a virgo rising and basically his Ascendant lord is there too I definetly felt more exhausted emotionally mentally. I think he got scared of intimacy more than i did , never was able to fully open up to me. There was no equal give and take except for when its in the bedroom. 8th house is more subconscious. So, I actually would argue that it can.be both. But it depends on your natal chart. For instance, if someone has Pluto in the 7th..and they are with someone whose Venus falls in the 8th. They might feel this more cause their mind is always wanting that Pluto energy and now someone Venus is there. So, I say both
