@@OrengeBlaster I used to draw a lot on paper and digitally and the only 3D related stuff I knew at that time was anatomy~ I also practiced making low poly stuff for about 6 months using Blockbench before I started posting videos~!
@@artdanpol3d that's awesome, no wonder why you does it well. I started 3d modelling (on and off) without prior art knowledge other than limited pixel arts (I makes minecraft skins). looking forward to learn something from your channel!
Ah~! What I do is after I clicked on one edge, I hold shift and click on the other edges that I want to transform~ Then, I let go of the shift key and press the space bar to adjust the edges either inwards or outwards~ The same can be applied with vertices and faces~! I hope this helps~
Ah∼! When I face this problem, What I usually do is just create a separate texture for that mesh w/ no texture∼ Or it could also be that the amount of pixels for that texture file is too little∼ Also, my video on how to texture 3d models may help you out with those issue∼!
I do think that there is a plugin for that~ I'm not sure what the name of the plugin at the moment but I am pretty sure you could find it in the plugins in Blockbench~!
The use of floating geometry (elements of the mesh that are not directly connected, such as the hair on the head of your model here) is something that I am seeing more often and I don't quite understand. It seems like this would create many problems during the rigging and animation process, but perhaps I'm wrong about this. Thoughts?
In terms of rigging in Blender, you're probably right since characters made there are rigged with skeletons~ But in Blockbench, since you can put a lot of meshes in a single folder and not have it mess with each other, it's a method that works well~ But if you could always merge these meshes into one of that's more into your liking~! I hope this helps~!
@@artdanpol3d So you get around this problem of squashed/deformed geometry in Blockbench by not using weight painting but instead rigging each element of the character separately. At least I think that I understand that correctly. Interesting. That's something to consider trying in Blender as well. Thanks.
@@shaionline Yup~! Blockbench doesn't really have a weight painting feature but I've taken a great liking on early ps1 models that I based my rigging from them~!

finally someone as masochistic as me to do lowpoly character on blockbench. you earn a sub! :3
question: do you have any prior 3d modelling experienxe before you start using blockbench?

That's quite some patience required for the hair. I never thought of making it out of multiple objects as well. Great stuff!
It took me a while to understand it since it was by far the most complex lowpoly hair I have made so far~
your timing is impeccable. I needed this - thanks!
I'm glad I was able to put it up at the right time~!
rounding the ends to diguise joints when bending is very clever
It was one of the techniques I learned when I was looking at joints of PS1 models~!

Can you share your keymap please? I am so confused when you shift transform, it applies to all edges

Owhh sweet. but I faced another problems. now when I tried to create texture autmatically. some mesh doesnt get their own textures

Thank you so much~! At the moment, I don't have a patreon yet or ways for commissions. I will be figuring this part next year~
So besides it being free just like blender, why would i use this over blender?
