Just got mine finally in the mail. Can’t wait to sleeve it up and test it out. It has been doing super well in online tests on ink table and tabletop simulator.
Really cool decklist and video! No Cogsworth is very interesting. He isn’t helping you against Hyper Aggro for sure, but I worry the matchup against Steel Songs or the mirror becomes harder without him. I’m also interested to see how well Pete performs here as a new addition in this set. He seems very good and could certainly protect your key pieces. Keep us updated as you playtest!
Sheriff of Nottingham is another great option. Sure he's only 4 lore, but thats often close to what Tamatoa is after Flavorsham does his thing. Dropping him turn 6 is very possible, and his support can beef up one of your early game plays if they are still on the board.
Try including two Ariel/legendary belle then run 2 copies of hero medal. Using this you can allow Ariel to become an easy and protected 14 to 18 lore when combined with hero medal and lucky dime. Legendary mufasa is also a good hero medal target if you have Pete.
Awesome idea! First Sapphire Steel i've seen without Cogsworth 🤔 thinking it'll be weaker against other steel decks, but against any other colour it's probably fine
This is about what I am going to do to upgrade my sapphire/steel deck, but I don’t have any Hiram’s. I think “Nothing to Hide” is an underrated card for draw and vision in the game. Knowing what is in my opponent’s hand is really nice and without Hiram I need the draw. I feel like with Chicha + Hiram could be a little draw overkill (which sounds a little crazy to think) Chicha really feels like I can run some other ramp options to get some card draw like a “one jump” on turn three with a Winnie the Pooh drop is really nice set up. Chicha gives other sapphire/steel archetypes something good that isn’t item based draw
Question : why not using the inkable/shiftable Aurora from set 1 to give permanent ward to your whole board ? She's better at everything compared to Belle, which I have heard a lot about recently, but I don't really understand why...
I totally forgot about the new sapphire Kuzco. You give your opponent more ink, but you are right you get a 2 questing body on the board, with a secondary ability (although 4 to activate is a bit expensive).
@@RuunanLorcanaKuzco also keeps tomatoa from getting the items back that Kuzco forces them to ink. Getting rid of an opposing Dime for good and not just leaving it in the discard for their next tamatoa is amazing.
There’s also the new 2 cost action that does the same, but for locations and items. Kuzco can give resist every turn as well, so you can probably drop cogsworth now.
I feel Tipo is really weak in this deck. You woundn't play him on turn 2 because your other plays on turn 2 are just too important or you are setting up for card draw with chicha. I would just run 3 mickey. I would forget carpet bag and just do more Tomatoa, i think carpet bag cost vs effect is too high, 6 to bring an item back tomatoa is 8. To bring two items back it 7 vs 8. I could see using an item bag if there is a build similar to the bologna winner. I however think this deck gets far worse when Daisy Doom Bringer comes out.
@@RuunanLorcana I converted all my ramp to character ramp and am also running friend like me. On r/s, why would I care if aggro has 3 more ink, I can wipe their board every turn after 7ink regardless.
Awesome video! Appreciate the inspiration for a new sapphire/steel. Stoked to get that mufasa out on the board
Still waiting for my copies to come in the mail. Lucky I pulled the trigger before they shot up to the mid 30s.
@@RuunanLorcana we packed two in our opening day boxes. Cant wait to see how you like it!

Will do.

Great suggestion!
Hero medal??
@@TwilightxKnight13 2 drop inkable item. Ability pay 2 ink and banish it to increase the lore of one of your characters by 2 until the end of turn.
The new steel mickey is an amazing 1 drop to fight aggro
Thought about him or hook. Went with hook because daisy in amber is SCARY.

Honestly, I think just hyper aggro scares me for next set with this type of ramp deck.

Chicha is a card I’m very excited about. Maybe we can finally move away from tamatoa Hiram reliance.

I used her last set. Main issue with her is she can be removed herself as she does not have ward.
But I do like that card as well.
Shouldn’t kuzco be a better option than simba and even more if u aint shifting that simba since kuzco the leaves a 2 questing body?

I have a style that cannot be blocked
I feel like this hard loses to a/a aggro. No answer for daisy early and 3 turns to setup ramp engine
I think aggro is going to really strong in this set. Could definitely be a problem for ramp decks.
