Bone marrow suppression was interesting, but what about those who are not on bone marrow suppression but are JAK2 positive with elevated platelets, RBCs, HCTs, and hemoglobin? What about those who have numerous hemangiomas? Would this create a GGO on CT? I worked in the ER during the most critical stages of COVID in 2020-2021 and had contact with many COVID-positive patients. I never had symptoms of COVID infection myself, but we would learn that this does not mean that I escaped the pandemic without a COVID infection. I was treated with antibiotics when the GGO was first discovered, but it made no difference in the opacity. What about patients who are also MSH6 positive? Does that change the length of time in which a GGO would be followed? Lots of questions are coming up. I found that Britain prefers to include PET scans in the treatment plan, yet another study showed that PET scans didn't offer anything of value. What about patients who have been on long-term NSAIDs like diclofenac? Does that impact GGO presentations? I also struggled to find information on whether a GGO would clear on its own if it was not the result of scarring. Am I stuck in a rotating door of followup CT scans for years to come? BRCA2, MSH6, and JAK2 positivity makes this whole subject frustrating for me. While I understand the dictionary definition of medical terms, I don't understand what that means for my health. I like to say that I know enough to be dangerous. LOL I wish that there were easier ways to get answers to these GGOs. Because the CT scans cannot define the cause or even the entity that exists in the lung, asking questions of my doctors can be a bit frustrating. How can you answer a question if you don't know the cause? A very interesting video anyhow!!
