When you pulled out the damaged mirror you should have attached a string/wire to the original wiring and then attached the string/wire to the new mirror and just pull it through.

Hi, just replaced my fiesta’s door mirror like yours. Works perfectly with the controls on the door to fold mirrors and adjust the mirror. However, the mirrors will non longer fold close or open when using the car key fob. Any guidance on this please? Do I need to re-sync or do something to get the key fob to fold the mirrors in and out like they did before??

      Hi, @martinballard2392
Is the side mirror you bought electronically foldable?

before you put the cable through the top hole when installing the mirror, make sure you attach a long wire to it. then run the wire down until it comes out of the bottom hole with the plug, then tighten the mirror (13 hex flange nut in case it gets lost). i had tried this without the wire, installed it and the window regulator pushed the cable down. be sure to use the wire, i spent hours trying to figure out why the cable was interfering and pushing it to the side etc. apparently there are several shafts in there, hence the problem with the cable blockage.

@blumtop Thank you for explaining clearly, its important that the wire is routed correctly to prevent it from getting chopped by the window mechanisms, so use a wire when routing the plug to the bottom hole its the best thing to do with this type of side mirror.

Thanks for that, so to be clear, you mean, fix a wire to the plug BEFORE you pull it out, then it's an easy pull back the way it's supposed to go?

@@H4rleyBoyyes, without wire it gets easily in the wrong canal and you are fiddling around like an idiot.

What a shame the designers didn't think to have the connector accessed via the bolt hole, BAD FORD, I'm struggling to get the cap off to change the colour on my used one.
