- Cheap waterproofs can be horrible to wear and ride in, but spend just a little bit more and you can have the Scott Ergo Pro DP riding suit.

I used to hate riding in the rain. No more! Knowing you will stay dry is wonderful. Scott are brilliant.
Great review, cheers mate, good to get a inside view to the sizing, changed my mind just before ordering. Cheers!
Glad it was useful
Ok time to admit, I watched, I listened, I still went bought the icon pdx 2 jacket for £120 which is sized incorrectly, too heavy, sent back and bought this. Used it on Sunday and Tony, yes you were right! Brilliant waterproof jacket in every way
Thanks, I’m just trying to offer honest straight forward opinions
Views from the Man Cave an opinion Tony that was absolutely spot on. Thank you, I’m certain I’m not the only one grateful for the content 👍🏻
I've got the jacket and trousers and did the BMW Off Road Skills Course, in pouring rain as well as riding through streams and the like and the only thing that got wet were my feet because the boots weren't waterproof. Can't rate these highly enough. Great review too!
Ive been really pleased with them, worth every penny
Have these they are the best water proof gear I have ever owned simply the best
Awesome video. This is definitely something I need to get in the future
I considered the Scott too, it's a good bit of kit, but in the end I plumped for the Rev'it H2O as it has 2 front pockets. It's not let me down yet after a year of use (on & off). It's proven more convenient being able to grab something out of my pocket rather than unzipping and going for an inner pocket! A small thing but helpful no less. Nice review thanks.
Thanks Steven, yes Rev’it make really good gear. No pockets mean less chance of a leak, but if it’s a good quality jacket that shouldn’t be an issue.
Good intel, thanks for finding them 😉 I will be trying these.
No problem 👍
Thanks for a great vid. Finding good, well-fitting rain gear can be a real pain. Cudos too on your support for the Distinguished Gentlemans' ride. Cheers!
Cheers Jim, these are still going strong. honestly these are the best waterproofs I've ever tried...
If the Scott pants’ high waist doesn’t suit, Held Rainblock gear is made of the same stretch material and equally high quality.
Thanks for the info
Love your beard, man. Found the vid very helpful, too! Cheers.
All my own work 😉 Cheers
Proud to be brand ambassador for Scott Poland ! Excellent video !
Excellent! thats great and thank you for your kind words
Enrico, Thanks to you I just bought mine in Torun, Poland :)
@@bluespl You will not regret it ! top
Dziekuje👍
@@bluespl Bedziesz zadowolony z Scott !
Brilliant! Been looking at these, decision now made! Will pop to MotoLegends to make sure I get the right size!!
Cool, they are a great set of waterproofs
These look brilliant, but the sizing will be an issue when ordering online. Why can't manufacturers of bike clothing be all the same when sizing?
Yes indeed, but to be fair if you don’t want to size down for a snugger fit, they would be fine.
Definitely the best, it‘s almost fun to ride in the rain.
It really is!
Great review - thank you.
No problem
Some fabulous Man at C&A modelling Tony, well done!
Sexy huh?! 😂
Not quite what I was thinking.....
Hi Tony, how is the Scott gear holding up after a year of use?
I am just about to invest in some decent rain gear, mainly for summer tour across europe, so far I was looking at the Held Rainblock set, similar price range but hard to find proper reviews... besides, I always end up buying stuff you recommend (Motech Legend gears, Rokker Revolution, Shoei RYD, Bell Moto 3) and never regret, so I might ride down to Motolegends shop to try these..
Again, thanks for your fantastic work!
Hi Vilmos, I have to say these are still as good as new! No ingress of water, they still perform as they did when I bought them. If worn the jacket a few times off the bike as it’s easy to pack as an emergency waterproof when out for the day. Give them a try and if you find them comfortable I don’t think you’ll be disappointed.
Awesome, thanks for the quick reply, I will definitely visit motolegends store as soon as the weather allows, Ive ordered from them before but didnt know they have a shop too, and its not too far from london..
Do you have any experience with the Held brand? Ive read quite good reviews of their other stuff, but not many shop stock them
Thanks for the info my good man
Good advice about sizing. Unfortunately i brought the Jacket one size to big before watching this and it does blow around at more than 60mph and occasionally slapping my helmet. Utilizing the safety belt does stop back creeping making it less of a problem. Next winter i'll get one size smaller and HVS. I'm on my 2nd set (one size smaller) of trousers as these flapped a bit also and ended up getting burnt through on exhaust. I thought the price was quite reasonable for the quality and decent job they do. Thanks
No problem, these are still going strong
Crap bought a set a year ago and worn them 4 times crotch leaks, left leg boot zip leaks and now the jacket has started letting water in a well and they aren't breathable
I like RUKKA.
Amazing review, a bit pricy but looks like this is the future :), thanks for the review amazing job as usual. Aleks
Thanks, yep not the cheapest but I have to say it’s still going strong and hasn’t let me down yet
If you think these are pricey you want to check the Klim Enduro S4 and then these look like an absolute steal
In a word yes !
Looks good, planning to get one. How tall are you? I'm size XL in most jackets myself, not sure to get M or L in this. Thanks.
I'm 5ft 10
Enjoyed your video on Scot waterproofs , are good if touring and your riding in torrential rain all day ? I ask this because I cannot afford these expensive gortex suits thanks.
Cheers, yes these work really well, not as breathable as goretex items, but also not as expensive.
Hi Man Cave.
I'm a fan of your channel since I've bought a Triumph Street Scrambler. I've seen all your videos and almost all are usefull for me so I've got to thank you.
I've preferred the Tucano Urbano Nano Rain Jacket Plus that is at 49 Euro so £43 .
The Nano Rain Jacket Plus is guaranteed over 3000 mm of water. Have you tried some other jacket?
Thanks Michele, nice of you to say so. The Tucano stuff has a good reputation, certainly in the urban market. I’m always on the look out for gear to try out. I liked this setup because of its stretch and breathability.
I think the Scott is prettier but for me the price is also important.
Can you verify for me the technical parameters of impermeability and breathability of the Scott Ergo PRO.
For the Tucano Urbano those parameter are written on the label and are evaluated according to the european standard: Impermeability = 3, Breathability = 3
Thank You very much!
PS: I'm always waiting for new videos :-D
Good question I’ll check
3000 mm of water is for hiking not for highway 100 kmh
Ive had mixed success with waterproofs in the past. My main complaint was they keep you dry on the outside, but you get condensation on the inside. Do these overcome this issue?? Thanks in advance 👍👍
Slightly longer answer, yes.... they are breathable So for me No ive not had any condensation issues.
Great review. As for sizing, I was thinking of ordering a size Large, but then thought I might need an XL as it has to go over DAINESE AVRO D1 Leather Jacket with protections (size 52 EUROPEAN). After watching your video, I think a Large might be fine (maybe too big?). Could you help on this?
Size 52 is roughly 42 inches? I reckon a large would be good given the armour
@@mancavemoto cheers for the quick reply!
Size 52 (EUROPEAN) on Dainese is 41 inch chest and 24 inch sleeve.
Hi Nice review... how windproof are they, thinking of chancing a mesh jacket for South of France in May with one of these as a rain but also wind layer if it gets chilly, would you recommend?
Yep its pretty good at keeping the wind out, i've some times usd it for that purpose when its not raining and i'm feeling the cold
I've got the same doubt for Southern France/Spain in early June, do I take my Goretex laminate or do I go the layering route with a mesh jacket and waterproofs over it?
Where can I get it?!?!?! I'm in Mexico City but I could be shipping it if is necessary!
Also, I would like to know the price please!
Theres a link to Motolegends on the video, I'm sure they would be happy to ship to mexico
Thanks a lot my friend!! goodbye to the suffering days in the rain hopefully !!
@@arturoangulo4033 did you manage to get it in Mexico ? Did it stop the suffering days in the rain ? I'm also in Mexico City looking for a new rain suit
HI Tony , good review . The trousers how are tehy in the leg . I have fat belly but only short leg 48 inch waist but 28 inch leg . I thought the price was OK so went to the site to buy but then thought I would check with you regards leg size . Cheers Mate
Hi Paul, I’m a 32 inch leg and they are long enough in my waist size, but I wouldn’t say they were overly long. I don’t know how the length changes theough the sizes, but if you give them a call they’ll be able to help you out
I'm a 32x32 us jeans. on the taller slide and slim. I prefer pants to fit slimmer. would you recommend a medium or large in the pants?
Definitely the medium
Enjoyed the review, have now subscribed! Been looking for some water proofs to go over my RST two piece. Can you offer any comment as to how the jacket may work with a race hump (RST humps on their jackets arent overly big) and any idea how the pants may go over a set of leather jeans with sliders? Appreciate it's probably best to go try it all on.
Thanks, the jacket should be fine over a hump, there's quite a bit of stretch to it, same with the pants, I would recommend going one size up.
My waterproof jacket is by an unknown brand, it works perfectly well and it was around 20 pounds in price
Googling unknown Brand right now. Thanks!
@@Roger_Ramjet I know It's a bit vague
Hi Toni! Will these pants fit over alpinestars adventure boots? Thanks
They fit over my TCX Drifter Boots, so I would think so
Worth paying a few pound more for decent Waterproofs, l have been through quite a few sets of jackets, trousers that didn't fit well and flapping about when riding..
Agreed, and I think given the performance these are a decent price
Hi, great video
I got a good idea of what size I should get for the jacket (size 42 jacket = medium I reckon) but would like to know what waist size is suitable for large trouser. Can you help please?
I'm a 36 inch waist and I wear a size L in the trousers if that helps?
@@mancavemoto thank you for the prompt reply. Sorry for the intrusive follow up question, does that mean you wear a size 36 jeans or a 36 inch waist?
no problem, thats the sam thing isnt it?
@@mancavemoto
Thank you. In my experience, Jean sizes are smaller than actual waist size. I think they call it vanity sizing
Ah right, I think that’s a Levi’s thing isn’t it? Yep a 36 inch waist, but my Levi’s read 34 😂
Off topic, but what leather jacket was that?
It’s the Goldtop Tracker jacket
Would this be as waterproof as a decent one piece waterproof suit?
I don’t see why not. The waist is really high and I’ve never had water get inside
@@mancavemoto I think I'm sold, thanks!
I am in Croatia, EU.
I have just received my jacket from Motocard.
My model has black front zip and has no pullintlg tab at the end of sleeve. Why is that?
I can only guess that they've changed the design since I bought these ones?
@@mancavemoto which model is old ?! If it is mine....Why would they cut the pulling tab? It was good idea
@Vjekoslav-vf3hr what I meant was my video is from 2018, they may have changed the design since then? Having looked on the Scott website it does appear that they have removed the thumb loops?
@@mancavemoto I see. Tnx
Nice vid, but 3 years old. I'm returning to UK after 10 years in China, got my helmet, leathers, boots and gloves sorted but someone told me it still rains in UK!!
I'm going to try and be a fair weather biker, (I've just bought a Harley so it's part of the myth). However, someone also told me it even rains in summer!!! Shock horror. I'm going to need some waterproofs!
Do you have an update on this vid? Sizing is going to be a PITA online as the jacket and trousers are so different, do you know if you can actually drop into motolegends with the Covid thing? I think a personal visit and trying things on would be best (and a damn fine excuse for a ride out).
Welcome back! These are still going strong and I have no complaints. Pretty sure MotoLegends are open for visitors. Tell them I sent you 😉
Breathable?? 🤔
But but but £180 it’s a bit too mucho for me I’m afraid
One problem I have with leg zips,,, they always seem too snag !! they are the very devil at times,,other times the same zip runs perfectly...A snag when you are rushing to don your suit is the last thing you want....
Too true, these have been pretty reliable so far
"it is incredibly light". No, it is not. 1kg. But great review.
For a breathable waterproof suit, it is light I thought, but I wasn’t just talking about its physical weight. It feels light and in restrictive when wearing it, even though its close fitting
Say no to day glo!!!!
The jacket rather blatantly advertises the Company which I do not like.
Yeah, I’m not keen on big logos but it’s often hard to avoid now.
Bin bags for you then? Hard to find something that does not advertise any company these days. I bought an Oxford rain jacket £21 does a good job as well, and advertising is more discrete. I do like the Scott product line.
