      It is new. They had planned to do it for a while now but had to keep putting it off for weather and safety reasons.

    Is the crew still onboard? I heard they had to stay on board because they weren't vetted to go on land. Seems dangerous blowing up the bridge sections with some people still onboard.

    The ship LITERALLY steered right into the bridge and "investigators are looking into what happened"...is this a joke? OF COURSE the ship operators are to blame for this...taxpayers will be on the hook for the costs associated with rebuilding the bridge to the tune of BILLION$

      The ship LITERALLY lost power and sounded a mayday that allowed nearby cop to shut down the bridge to traffic. Keep drinking the coolaid bud

    China could have removed the debris and freed the ship in 7 days and begun bridge reconstruction already

    Destroying the evidence? What is in those containers? Where are the crew members?

    • @Melody-mt5im
      @Melody-mt5im 27 днів тому

      Crew members are onboard and have had their phones confiscated as part of the investigation.
      The containers and their contents are all recorded and have been noted as part of the incident so they can make sure they aren’t creating more danger with any part of the demolition.

      @@Melody-mt5im and you know this how?

    • @Melody-mt5im
      @Melody-mt5im 20 днів тому

      @@BabsKaz Shipping containers are very well regulated and easily trackable and the contents are recorded and inspected before the containers are loaded onto the ship. Additionally, the contents of each container is marked on their exterior.
      The Dali had 57 containers filled with corrosives, flammable materials, and batteries. One of the few containers that fell off the ship during the crash contained a corrosive liquid (sheen) that leaked into the river.
      The crew of the Dali were instructed to remain aboard while the investigation was underway, and their phones as well as the ship’s voyage data recorder were all confiscated by the NTSB. The ship was already stocked with 3 months of supplies for the original voyage, and there are still day-to-day ship operations even if the ship is stuck, so it’s sensible to stay aboard even if there wasn’t an investigation.
      There was eventually an internet hotspot put up for the Dali crew, but they still didn’t have their phones, making the hotspot’s usefulness limited and understandably, the crew still felt isolated from the rest of the world.
      While the NTSB is heading the investigation, they are not the only agency working on it.
      Also, with the amount of press and visibility the bridge crash has had, it would be really difficult to do a coverup of any kind.
