I could have payed a million to hear this fantastic voice alive! One of my greatest favorite voices! Thanks for all You done Jim! We will never forget You.
No doubt that there have been many great singers through the years but, no-one could ever match this mans voice!! I wish Jim could have lived a longer life and given us another 40 years of his beautiful music!!
is there any better sound than Jim Reeves singing anything? I have loved listening to him since I was very young. My mom and dad played all his songs. We spent Sundays together as a family. My two brothers and sister and we would clean and listen
What a class act! No fireworks, fog machines, laser lights, or unnecessary theatrics. Pure talent held the audience's attention. Jim was the real deal who didn't mind saying, "I pulled a boo-boo" when he made a mistake. God rest his soul.
jim was my mother's(fannie louise reeves still) first cousin.o was fortunate enough to get to sit on his lap as a little girl while jim sang this song at my great uncle paul's and aunt roseabell's house between henderson and kilgore, texas.my mom played her harmonica, frank and charles(uncle paul's sons) played their guitarswhile jim sang.
we here in south africa fell in love with jim because he came on tour and sang a lot of our own songs in our language "AFRIKAANS" His one film made here was a great hit with us "KIMBERLY JIM" ....R.I.P.JIM
I was 12 years old when I bought my first album, "The Best Of Jim Reeves", shortly before he was killed. I was in love. After watching these, I feel just like that 12 year old, in love again.......
well its 12 years today my dad passed away....this was his favourite artist and favourite song by jim (four walls)...so heres to you Frederick Fowler.....
What a powerful, restrained voice and accompaniment. Just perfection. What a nice little combo he had there too. Professionals all the way through. Bet they had their suits pressed and didn't even have a beer before the show. That doesn't happen in touring pop music anymore.
It makes me sad to read Jim was singing in Oslo in 1964. My son was born 6TH July 1964. 3 weeks later Jim's plane went down..What a big loss to the music industry. Marje Morgan N Wales..UK..
So poignant that, just three months after this concert Jim and Dean were no longer with us after that dreadful plane crash.....That said, a voice that will live in for eternity...
He was suppose to continue with Four Walls but he goes into The Blue Canadian Rockies. He did not tell the Anita Kerr Singers he was going into The Blue Canadian Rockies and back into Four Walls. He apologizes to them and the audience. This was filmed about 3 1/2 months before he and the piano player Dean Manuel were killed. A real class act was Gentleman Jim.
I found this particular performance on a 2 disc cd set titled I believe to be "Gentleman Jim: The Definite Jim Reeves Collection" or something along those lines. Sorry, I dont have it with me, I bought it for my mom as a gift. Hope this helps.
Jim was great. I am so glad these clips still exist. I just made an attempt at recording Blue Canadian Rockies myself. Anyone interested in hearing how it came out please stop by my channel sometime.
Suoerb, thanks for posting ,He makes a mistake- -at 2;26 he says " I pulled a boo-boo", Anyone know what the boo-boo was? He carries it off with such relaxed charm that, if anything, it adds to his performance.
I listen to jim reeves every day as he brings back memories of me and my wife sitting on the porch watching the sunset go down. 😊😊❤❤
What a beautiful song ❤️🎵
Who’s listening to this song in 2021?

Even five years later this song by Jim still resonates...

He was my older brother's favorite singer, and mine too.
This is sweet. Gentleman Jim is still the bomb.

It was originally released as an album cut on the 1961 LP "The International Jim Reeves".

Time well spent Jim
