I know this was uploaded a couple years ago, but just know this is still helping students like myself. I was stuck on this concept and my textbook makes everything sound and look much more complicated than it really is. Thank you for simplifying this and making it more understandable.

! Great video. Class boundaries really show how there are no gaps - the upper boundary of one interval is shared with the lower boundary of the next interval

Thank youuuuu so much for the histogram explanation! I was just preparing for year 7 maths and i found this. I have to ask though what if there are no numbers / intervals provided in the first place and they only gave you the class limits, how do you find the frequency then?
One thing that I am careful of is the class width. If you mess this up, you'll gonna go wrong with the whole thing. There are only few example of this. Thank you sir.
Hi sir, is there a situation where the question doesn't have the number of classes which they want you to use and if so ,how do you go about it if the question didn't mention the number of classes?
A histogram represents the frequency distribution of continuous variables. Conversely, a bar graph is a diagrammatic comparison of discrete variables. Histogram presents numerical data whereas bar graph shows categorical data. The histogram is drawn in such a way that there is no gap between the bars. Our example is Histogram for Discrete Data. Boundaries help to cover the gaps. Therefore, for histograms we would use class bondaries for discrete data(not continuous data). Bar graphs are for discrete data. When you have continuous data (such as a person's height) then use a Histogram, not a bar graph. Please watch our new video about discrete and continuous data, ua-cam.com/video/iPfUQAqVhPQ/v-deo.html, thanks!
what happens if ou follow this step for step and your class limits is leaving a number out? like i got 10 for my range in a problem and my highest value is 120 and im unable to get up to 120 ionly get up to 119.5 using this mthod

there are (2) 76 values.

So for histograms you would use class boundaries, and bar graphs you would use the whole number values like 46-56?
A histogram represents the frequency distribution of continuous variables. Conversely, a bar graph is a diagrammatic comparison of discrete variables. Histogram presents numerical data whereas bar graph shows categorical data. The histogram is drawn in such a way that there is no gap between the bars. Our example is Histogram for Discrete Data. Boundaries help to cover the gaps. Therefore, for histograms we would use class bondaries for discrete data(not continuous data). Bar graphs are for discrete data. Where is the + - 0.5 coming from
It's used to simplify and make the values equal sorta like the imaginary 1 under a rational number
what happens if ou follow this step for step and your class limits is leaving a number out? like i got 10 for my range in a problem and my highest value is 120 and im unable to get up to 120 ionly get up to 119.5 using this mthod

Is it compulsory to begin the bars at the axis of the y and x...or we can leave a space between them
You mean "Gaps" between the bars?
@@helpyourmathstat no just the gap between the first bar and the y axis
@@zandilewonani3521 You're right. If the "Origin" is 0 or any number smaller than 46.4, you will have the gap.
Nice Understanding
Thank you!
hi can i ask what if my class width is " 1" how do i list it in class limits?
You mean class width?
Can we roung of 6.1 to 7 as you did 9.33 into 10 ?
Yes, thanks!
what if it didn't give the classes like 6? How should I get the num of total classes
I have a question. If the width came out as a whole number for example width= 8, we're still gonna add 1 so it should be 9?
Yes, it will be 9.
