just a suggestion but can you include more of your picking hand in these videos too? as a beginner im so stoked someone is doing videos like this for great metal songs but im not always sure how i should be picking the riffs; like should i be alternate picking the deedle-doodle bits in this song for example. cheers!
Hi Mate, Happy New Year , Thanks for all the great videos and looking forward to many more . Your so good mate and as always love your playing. Anthony.
Thanks for the lesson. I love this song. It's so bad ass !! I just started playing. Your channel has been great inspiration. I was curious about the alternate tuning. Is this called drop C or C sharp? When using alternate tuning, should we use the standard octave sequence, 4, 3,3,3,2,2 ? I have not quite got my head around octaves when tuning yet. Thanks again!
Enrique Paredes Hello mate. It's C#, so the guitar is tuned like normal (with the same intervals) but down a minor 3rd. As for octaves, in this tuning they would be played the same way as normal. Hope that makes sense??
Yes it makes sense. Thanks for replying. I finally found some relevant pages online after a long search. The problem for me was none of the resources I found mentioned c standard tuning. (Jam play, for example) So I thought it must be called something else. I eventually read the entire Wikipedia entry on guitar tuning and came across the one sentence that mentioned it. Thanks again!
Enrique Paredes Unless the word "drop" or "open" is in the name of the tuning, assume its standard tuning, in terms of the intervals between the strings. C# means the 6th string is tuned down to that and all other strings are tuned down by the same amount, which would be 1.5 steps. It ends up being the same tuning as E standard just with everything lower. Drop C would be all strings tuned down 1 step, putting it in D standard tuning, and then the 6th string dropped an extra step beyond that to C.
Thanks HammerDimension I am pretty new with playing guitar still and I have begun to realise a lot of people on various places around the net either don't know what they are talking about or use terms the wrong way. It makes it interesting when you are trying to learn. Haha, I think I need to take a proper music theory class.
+Enrique Paredes On "Realm of Chaos", they were tuned to "A". That original version of the song is sick af!! They ended up re-doing the song later on, & tuning a bit higher - still sounds cool.
Valiant effort but the faster parts are being played incorrectly. Most sources on this song are incorrect though. You have to do your research and listen to the original track with a keen ear.
That intro is the trademark of bolt thrower, amazing band
Do you have any tabs? As a beginner it's kind of hard to follow along

Anthony.
Happy new year mate. Great to hear from you. Hope 2014 is filled with prosperity, and some serious guitar playing!!
It's all perfectly correct, but the second tremolo riff (2:55) should have a slight variation every second time it is repeated. Anyhow, great video!
Thanks
Thanks man you're great at teaching🤟 keep playing.
Sir, I really want to thank you for this!
I almost can play it in just 3 weeks! (I'm beginner)
Thanks! Can you do "all that remains" and "realm of chaos"??
thanks man. great fucking song. R.I.P Kiddie
Thanks mate
OMG! So Simon Smith did Death Metal before Black! I hope you have some Chuck Schuldiner videos
Great
The riffs sound like something from a Toxic Holocaust song... pretty rad! 🤘🏻
Great video 👍

Thanks for teaching me cenotaph but what is your string gauge
fully moon Ernie Ball Power Slinky's
I still fight with the tremolo part but ill manage it
Are you palm muting during the trem picking riffs?
I believe I was yes!
Appreciate the help!
Cheers
No worries mate.
Pretty cool, 200 people and still no dislike.
hey men I've an RG370 and I put those EMG pickups. The entire guitar has to transform or not? . and what class of EMG pickups you put ?
Hi mate. Yes they sound much better. It's an 81 and 85. Cheers
Could I use 10.'s for C# Tuning
I'd say yes. Might be a little bit floppy but wouldn't be too bad!
I would recommend 12-60. Feels perfect for C#. You could get away with a 56 though, or even a stand set of 11s if need be.
