I'm a fan from the Philippines 🇵🇭 I just discovered your page (subscribed ☺️) and I love how you explained the details in making this shorts and with pockets 🥰 make a simple beach dress next please 🥺.
I've just subscribed as I've also seen you have made a boob tube playsuit. Hopefully I'll be able to make this as very much a beginner. I've a long body and tall so really struggle for buying ready made. Thank you so much ❤
Hey..so I managed to make these shorts and everything came out well. The only complication I got was tacking in the row edges after stitching the pocket line. The row edges came onto the right side and hiding them in was complicated. How can this be rectified?
I have a question about when you start on the waistband, right after sewing the crotch. When you fold it down 1/4 inch, do you fold towards the wrong side of the fabric or the right side?
I found the part where you sewed the crotch to be very confusing. You said to pin the pieces wrong sides together, but then the seems are mismatched when I did that, and I had to rewatch many times and look at what you were doing because you didn’t explain it.
My best advice would be to try again. Match the front and back seam, pin them together and stitch along with a 1/2” allowance. SoMething that might help is to stitch from the centre to one side then from the centre to the other side just to secure the seam.
@@sewquaint thanks for the tips, I did eventually figure out what you were doing but it took me a few minutes of rewatching the footage. The way that I’ve done French seams in the past was different from how you did it here, so I was confused. Also pants are a weird shape to sew and adding pockets made it more confusing, but now that I’ve done it it it will be easier moving forward.
I’m a firm believer in YOU!!!! Well explained and thank you for letting us know “how”
You fold your fabric.
This is really beautiful and detailed.
Thank you so much , I'm a beginner your tutorial really helps a lot.

Great tutorial. What kind of thread 🧵 do you use on your industrial machine for sewing clothes?
I use regular cotton thread.
¡Bravo! 🧵😊❤️
Love the video, I love the finished product even more 😍
Thank you! I must make you one 😊
Love love loveeee!!! Question: did you pin the pockets to the wrong or right side of the pants ?
That’s what i’m wondering
I pinned them to the right side.

OMG! Where you bought that fabric??? Its lovely. Love the video. Definitely making pockets in my next shorts.
I bought it YEARS ago in Pablos. They have some really nice challis fabrics. Fulljoy creating your shorts! 😊
What needle size for chalice fabric?
I use the smallest needle possible. Anywhere between size 11 and 14.
Hi there, where do you buy brown paper from?
hey! In Jamaica, I buy it at a fabric store (Pings) or Woolworth. In the states, I buy pattern paper at Joann’s.
@@sewquaint Thanks. I can never find any in St.Catherine. Guess I'll have to try kingston
I think the steps would be clearer if the fabric you demo is plain.
True. Here’s one with plain fabric - ua-cam.com/video/z7cODkuwlbs/v-deo.html
Is the “wrong side” the inside? Honest question before I start ruining fabric.😅
yes! that’s correct. you’ll get better with practice.
