Scykoh’s language pronunciation absolutely murders me, especially because I KNOW he has like near-fluency in Japanese. You know how to say ありがとう!!! Don’t lie to us!!!!!
I thought this episode would be really boring, but Scykoh's *wonderful* pronunciation of French was fantastique Art class is the best one imo. The classes don't do much else that's helpful for people who've played a few pokemon games though.
Oui is "wee". It's French for yes. Notice how they focus a lot on languages from countries previous games were based in. By the way, you can also talk to the teachers periodically. If you go to the monitor by the desk you take classes in, any teacher who has a dialogue scene you can view with have an exclamation point by them.
Don't forget to check the computer screen next to the class registry to see if anyone within the school wants to talk to you (exclamation mark by the room name)~
Hey scykoh, hope your having fun with this game Forgot to mention, if you complete the school exams, you get items and secret lore. If I remember correctly there is 8-10 lectures per class
Scykoh- butchering every language known to man! 🤣 Don't worry, more classes will open up later (exams too!). Also, I hope you do get to go to Japan one day. I'd been dreaming of going for years and finally got to go in October- it was absolutely awesome!
Might be in the minority here, but I actually enjoyed doing the classes in this game. There were a few that were genuinely enlightening, especially in terms of gameplay.
Having a Pokemon pick up an item for you is helpful when you actually can't reach the item but the Pokemon can, such as a water Pokemon swimming to a small island or a flying Pokemon crossing a gap you can't cross.
Picard's Log Day 20: YO! Today is going to be rather educational, I can already tell! ^_^ Let's get things started shall we? Today we started things off by going to school and learning some things about the local history such as how the current culture started roughly 2 millennia ago and that it started because of Great Crater in Area 0. ^_^ Then we learned how to say a few words in a few different languages (though I think we might need more practice). Then we learned a few things about home economics (or in this case, learning about how to use foods to our advantage). ^_^ What will happen tomorrow?
I started watching in glitchfests times and watched your Mario sunshine and wario and a few more play through. So I gotta ask where is one of my childhood favorite channels self imposed Banjo Kazooe Nuts and Bolts video
Yes midterm and finals are in this and doing them rewards you with xp candies small midterm medium finals (if you pass them) doing everything rewards you with large candies
Normally hearing people mispronouncing foreign words, especially French, doesn't bother me because I can tell they are doing it intentionally. But I could tell from the way you initially pronounced 谢谢 (xie'xie) that it was a mistake and for some reason that bothered me. (Incidentally your correction was right xie'xie is pronounced like shyeh-shyeh with each tone starting high and dropping low.)

Just call Scykoh the Local Butcher, this episode was hilarious.
Pronouncing "oui" as "owie" killed me
gem apple Salvatore hahahaha
I don’t even speak French and his butchering was kind of irritating but mostly hilarious.
The history classes are the best as they explain the lore of paldea

Don't worry about language butchering now Scykoh
You've been doing it the entire series to Spanish already
Omg I know, I know he tries his best but it get to me when he pronounces naranja.

Good thing Scykoh was homeschooled, considering how often he interrupts Ms. Raifort's lesson to make silly comments and make fun of her.
Ms. Raifort having the classic twitchy strand of hair at 08:38
LOLLL
favorite part of my evenings lol

I just wish I had done them sooner, they're a really good way to present lore and gameplay features imo
Listening to Scykoh slaughter foreign languages is genuinely hilarious lol
The start of the Levincia City music reminds me of TT's Theme. Now I must take a detour to listen to that banger of a Diddy Kong Racing song.

There's one tutorial screen with a brief description of the meal powers btw you've already seen, it's pretty quick so easy to forget
I am French, and you've been butchering "bonjour" since day 1 and I'm here for it. Keep doing it please
im actually really thankful for you doing the classes as i cant afford a switch, and all the playthroughs i watch ignore the classes part of the game
they didnt go that hard on the character design for this game, but im so glad they did. love all the professors!
My son(5) and I are watching together he wanted me to comment and say: “I really like your channel, thank you for making great videos.”

You do! I'm a native Spanish and German speaker :)
native german and learning japanese for quite some time now and .... jeez that pronunciation hahahaha
You'll get more lessons as you defeat gyms. :3
Is there a tangible reward for going to school in the game?
Yes midterm and finals are in this and doing them rewards you with xp candies small midterm medium finals (if you pass them) doing everything rewards you with large candies
Peep laventon in the background of the history class
It bugs me Salvatore seems to expect you to know some words like he‘ll throw a word out and I’m like……. “What!?!?”
that walk is not swagger haha he got crud in his pants!
I'm french guy currently learning Chinese, and I can confirm that you butchered those 2 languages in the worst possible way 😁
Holla! 🤣
My god, that French pronunciation...
🥳👍🏿
What's nice, is that even though Scykoh butchers the languages, and knows it, he is at least apologetic about it ... still funny though
Sorry Scykoh

im German and that is not how you pronounce "Danke" xD
I guess French wasn't in your home school curriculum huh? Considering the disastrous pronunciation.
Out of curiosity, do you purposely say all words in other languages extremely wrong or are you really totally oblivious of how they're pronounced?
I am second commenter 😃
