You do nothing wrong. I had the exact same thing going on. I think the KIM chats do keep you a little on hold. On trusted I had the option to ask out Quincy. Then on close Aoi, Eleanor and Lettie (no idea how this happened). After one or two daily resets I could date Amir, but his status was still on close and he did not move in yet. Keep on chatting, keep on gifting and keep on doing happy zoomies infront of his shop.
