Week 4 (Tango): (9, 9, 9) 27 Comments: Tango qualities fit nicely into the theme, great power Week 5 (Salsa): (8, 9, 8) 25 Comments: The choreo was questionable. The stopping in the middle was not needed. It looked really awkward and stiff between them, however they did have nice hip action and footwork. Week 6 (Foxtrot): (9, 9, 9) 27 Comments: Out of sync in a few places, but overall clean and polished, just like a foxtrot needs to be Week 7 (Paso Doble): (10, 10, 10) 30 Comments: AMAZING!!!!! WTF ELSE WOULD I SAY Week 8 (V. Waltz): (9, 10, 10) 29 Comments: Great Viennese waltz content however watch the footwork when turning Week 8 (Samba): (8, 9, 9) 26 Comments: Low energy, interesting concept, enjoyed it, just needed more Week 9 (Arg. Donald driver may not have been the best dancer but by the end he was by far the smartest William just did his same old Latin lover schtick and Katherine's freestyle was really nothing special Donald on the other hand played it so smart and delivered the best dance on finale week with his freestyle and tbh all 3 plus maria deserved to win it was a competitive season
Been wanting to rewatch her dances for the longest. I remember how much everyone praised her for being so good and me being so confused, not understanding what everyone was raving about. Was hoping maybe my recollection of her dances was not as mediocre as I remembered them to be. Not so. I remember watching this season very vividly. I remember not liking Maria at all. I also remember her elimination. I remember being so elated for America not falling for the judges crap and her inflated scores. Pretty much as overrated as I remember her. Yes, I'm sure the stress fractures she had on both feet affected her performance and I do feel bad for her. Still, not fair to give her so many 10's for mediocre to ok dancing while someone like Donald Driver is being underscored like hell.
I agree I liked Maria but didn’t think she was all that. Roshon Fegan and Donald Driver deserved more appreciation. At least Donald pulled through and won.
Yeah I liked her personality and she had a few good dances but she definitely wasn’t as strong as the judges made her out to be. Derek’s choreography also didn’t have her do very much compared to Donald, Katherine, Roshon or even William who was also a bit overscored throughout the season; he didn’t even put a lot of content in 3 of their last 4 dances (notably the Viennese Waltz which had barely any dancing in hold, Samba which was just a Bollywood-style dance and Jive which had no kicks or flicks and was basically a Jazz dance).
