@@TangoGulf They are both polycarbonate lenses; just one holds the official safety certifications by ANSI. All of the lenses should, in theory, guard against projectiles.
@@lunamoon5104 I have had a Gatorz for a long while and before I went to buy my first pair (before they even had a protection rated line of glasses) I called them and specifically asked if they were considered protective glasses and they said they were and that they met or exceeded ansi z87 standards. That being said I can't say I notice a huge difference between the two pairs. The z87 magnums may have slightly beefier lenses. If it makes you feel better to have them stamped with the rating go for it and spend a few extra dollars otherwise navy seals and military personnel used Gatorz for decades before they had a z87 or milprf impact rated line.
@@lunamoon5104 I just remembered something actually. I had to send my ansi rated ones in for warranty recently and they sent me a brand new pair but the pair they sent me back was the ballistic rated ones that exceed the MIL PRF 32432A rating. I will say they did feel sturdier and the lenses felt more substantial. It's hard to convey without holding them but ultimately the decision is yours. Hope this helps
Z87.1 version or regular magnums?
Is there a difference besides the price? I have both and they seem like the same pair

@@TangoGulf after 2 years do you think I should get the ballistic one instead of just regular? do you notice any difference?
