This season I’m trying a mix of hero RB and studs & duds. I’m in a 12 team PPR keeper league. My keepers - Bijan, Achane and Tyreek - I have $40 salary left for the rest. LOLOL!
Feels like this discussion could be improved. These are pretty basic strategies and most people lean towards stars/studs. You should research and discuss dynamic drafting that calculates how inflated/deflated the draft is. If the top 10 RBs all go 10% over expectation, you could scoop 3-4 top 24 RBs for a combined $50.
We have specific episodes on each strategy coming up! Most of the rest of the episodes this August will be all strategy based. We keep looking to add more so we can definitely add an episode about that.
Last year did zero RB and end up with Monty and Gibbs. Pick up Achane during the season. Finished with a money spot 2nd lost to the hotter hand seed. Higgins killed me during season but held him for playoffs and paid off
I think team size can influence the Studs & Duds process, because the waivers are richer in those leagues. So if you are more active on the waiver, like I am in my league. I may be willing to accept the risk with my bench because I think I can rebuild it.
Been waiting for you guys! Keep it coming with the auction strategy. My strategy last year was to avoid studs and try to get the best auction value. My team was horrible.😔😔
Hey guys, just discovered you 2 days ago and I’ve been watching everything you put out for the last 4 months. I’d love to hear your strategic approach to a deep (14 team) superflex league. Start 1/2/3/1/2 flex (only 1 can be qb). We’re headed into year 19 and almost everything I’ve learned has been through experience, very little content to absorb on auctions (let alone superflex auctions). A superflex video would be phenomenal. I love your work!
This is my first year doing FAAB and I don't see CMC being on the waiver wire or free agency most likely whoever the #1 pick in the draft is going to get him
Can you give me your thoughts on a 3 year keeper league? In this scenario, guys tend to go for more because it's 3 years, i want one of the elite RB's or should i target Elite WR's and budget RB's?
Yup -- it also makes choosing your starting lineup a nightmare if you have several choices at each position. Guess what? You're going to guess wrong and make your fantasy season somewhat miserable. Everyone needs "set and forget" guys, with at least 2 and ideally 5 or so
Agree on the premise, but I’m not sure ADP can actually predict who the studs are. Those $20 guys definitely have hit potential. Like Jacobs doesn’t have too 3 RB upside? Mixon? Diggs doesn’t have top 3 WR potential?
@@maff_they definitely do, but what I’ve learned is to pair the “he could hit” mid priced guys with at least one or two “this guy is a bonafide stud” level guys. A team of ONLY the mid priced guys who could hit is where the balanced approach doesn’t seem to work in my experience, I tried it a few different times lol
@@SilkSoFyevery fair, thank you for the follow up! Yeah it’s hard not to fall in love with all of the “potential upside” value buys for me haha. But that’s sound advice; I think I’ll try and prioritize someone ranked in the top 5 for their position based on this. Thanks boss
we will have a superflex episode soon but I go back and forth on superflex strategy. Sometimes I go big and try and get a huge advantage at QB, other times I go opposite and spend the least. Each draft is a bit different for me.
@@carterphilippi7124 You can keep a player for up to 4 years. The cost increases by $5 each year. The player's cost is based on the amount they were originally drafted for, whether by you or by another manager if they were acquired through a trade.

Id love an episode showing how to make a par sheet. And if it’s a 2 qb league, how does that change prices for you guys

We’re going to be recording an episode for super flex and deeper leagues very soon!
Another great video! Diffinately looking forward to some of you mock drafts.
I’m a first time Auction drafter this year. Do you have a video or guide on how to properly research and do your tiers? I assume an excel spreadsheet?
Excel spreadsheet is what I use and then I have the players listed out and group them in tiers from there

Elite wr’s are probably the way to go, they seem to last longer
Balanced is definitely the worst option. This isn’t Madden, you have to have at least one or two true studs to have any chance to win the chip
100% agreed. It creates middle of the road teams that have little upside

Big difference between a truly balanced team and a team full of middle rounders, two different things
Use 80% of core 4 guys. Get one or two starters off waivers and voila
One version of Studs and Duds is spending up on your entire starting lineup, while every bench player is the minimum 1$
Does your strategy change in a super flex league?

Whats the max we spending on a stud rb or wr?
Typically in the 60's. I've gone into the 70's for RB's before though, probably not this year.
@@FantasyFootballProphet how much we doing for our next player if i spend $60?
Would you keep Breece at $27 or Olave at $10
Breece for sure… how do you guys do keepers in an auction draft?
