Damen cutter suction dredger, type CSD500, is working on a harbour extension job. Beside the new port, used for inland transport, the river is dredged continuously. As the sand banks move, river dredging is a key feature to keep the inland port open. The CSDs have been customised for this dredging operation, adding for instance anchor booms to the standard dredgers.
